WWE General Discussion - December 2007
The Truthiness replied to Hunter's Torn Quad's topic in The WWE Folder
I find it hilarious, that the SD/ECW roster nearly dying "Doesn't warrant it's own thread". I'm glad everybody is ok though. -
According to what's written, it sounds like the finish of Montreal was purely Shawn's idea at least according to the book. Duly noted. I stand corrected

Jay's the Champ, but Devine owns the belt, again I say...Jesus Christ.

Jesus christ.

Triple H is awesome... -
MY god, Jearan is fucking terrific.
-
This Jearan guy has to be the best gimmick poster ever. What is even funnier, is people are seriously debating with the guy.

If they're going to turn Lashely heel, they should just make Santino his mouth piece. They have history, it will give Lashely some body to talk for him, and you can even kick Santino's character up a notch. Santino would be a even bigger prick, if he had a guy like Lashely by his side. -
I'm glad to know that this turned out to be the entire Cena / Kennedy match from that RAW with the post-match Orton attack included. Good for WWE to put back in full matches as exclusive extras. Well, I just watched the documentary part of Shawn's new DVD and it is really good stuff. Nowhere near as much obscure WWF footage as I'd have liked but still some good action and AWA footage. Plenty of attention to Shawn's great return from injury, but it was hard listening to Shawn talking about going through depression since he thought about suicide and also, that he wasn't competent to be able to take care of his family since he couldn't wrestle anymore which caused him to do drugs and booze. And unfortunately, they focused A LOT on the screwjob and Triple H had a lot of needless crap to say, even Ted Dibiase seemed to harp on Bret being 'bitter' still and how Shawn wants to patch things up (although I'm sure WWE just asked Ted to say that for them just to make Shawn look good). They showed clips of Bret smashing stuff up whilst talking about how much grudge he has, fair or what. Hunter also said how Bret was going to walk out the next night, when not under contract, which is bullshit because he still had like another 30 days left and would have dropped it anytime if Vince had let him. Hunter is just being a complete revisionist nitwit and Shawn tells a different story with each interview he does regarding Montreal. (In the Heartbreak and Triumph book, Shawn says he was the mastermind behind the whole thing, on the DVD he says it was Vince's idea and he was doing what he was told.) Personally, I think the DVD would've been much better without spending so much time on it. It's so disappointing that WWE had taken great strides in patching things up with Bret over the years only for this crap to be released and shown and take it right back to square one. *Sigh* So, aside from the Montreal crap (it never gets old and WWE will never let it die), HBK's DVD is amazing and easily the best Superstar DVD since Flair and Hart. There's a few more matches I would've preferred to have on there like Vs. Hart from Survivor Series 92, Vs. Chris Jericho at WM XIX, or Vs. Shelton Benjamin on RAW in mid-2005, but I'm really grateful WWE went all-out on releasing rare / classic matches instead of just rehashing stuff From The Vault. This DVD set is absolutely worth getting for any HBK fan. Hell, even any wrestling fan out there. Not true, Shawn has always said Vince hinted at the screw job, and Hunter was the 1st one to voice it. Shawn knew what Vince was implying, and was going to agree as soon as Vince asked, but Hunter made it easy for them both.

"Sexual Chocolate and The Love Machine" have finally came together. This is a glorious day in wrestling.
-
So who is going to be Kane's new tag partner?
-
This is my dream tag team.
-
ECW CHANT?!!!!!! Give me some more Wood?
-
Props to Joey for mentioning Kane Pillmanizing HBK's neck back in the day.
-
Another reason the Rumble winner won't pick Punk, Hawk? j/k When did they mention him?
-
So much for ECW being Punk's top priority, he rather be a Smackdown midcarder.
-
No Punk tonight? How the hell can you not have the champ on the show?
-
Moore made Shelton's finisher look a hell of lot better then Dreamer did last wek.

HHH did feud with Benoit and Angle after his feud with Jericho. Angle wasn't considered a legit main event wrestlers prior to HHH feuding with him, despite winning the KOTR. He was coming off getting squashed by Undertaker the previous PPV. That whole Stephanie/HHH/Angle triangle did a lot for Angle, despite it ending pretty bad. You're right. It turned him into a super geek that nobody could take seriously. Angle wasn't considered a legit main event before feuding with HHH, and he wasn't considered one after. The Angle/HHH feud generated a lot of interest from the fans, it was no question one of the best feuds in the WWF that year, despite it having a shitty ending. People would tune in each week trying to figure out what would happen next. It was great TV, and from my understanding it was apart of the reason that made Vince decide to put the belt on Angle. It also was the feud that made me (and a whole lot of other people) start taking Angle seriously.

They're really milking the spot, when somebody eventually rings the bell while Festus is murdering mother fuckers.
-
Please ring the bell. You know Mizorrisson have to do it
-
Stephanie Mcmahon, probably. Totally off topic. What do would happen to Hunter, if him and Steph got divorced? Does anybody think he'll still be in the company?
-
I'm thinking Lashely is going to get paired up with Batista, Or Umaga/Batista.
-
Roc Boys (and The winner is...)
-
I'm not saying it's not going to be a option, but nobody will pick it. Yes CM Punk would be more ideal, but the championship isn't viewed as important enough to use a Rumble win on it.
