Guest godthedog Report post Posted July 4, 2002 i think i'll go with one you didn't list...the all-japan heavyweight "maintain the advantage by using stiff striking moves & working a body part, no-sell a lot, then drop the guy on his head till he can't get up" style. Guest Dangerous A Report post Posted July 4, 2002 Watch Kawada wrestle. That's my favorite style. Hard hitting with tons of psychology and selling and no-selling that mean something within the match. Give me Toshiaki Kawada everyday of the week and twice on Sunday.
Guest razazteca Report post Posted July 4, 2002 I like the High Flying, technical, submission style which the NWA X title match from show 2 featured, plus some stiff kicks by Low-Ki. I was always a fan of the fast paced lightweight matches that featured forgein talents such as Rey Misterio Jr or Hayabusa. I watch WCW for the luchadores, I watch ECW for Super Crazy vs Tajeri, I watch RAW for Guerrero vs RVD. Currently I watch CMLL for the spot fest tag team matches and the singles title matches that tend to end one fall with a submission. I dislike the Big Slow style of the Giants especially Silva, oh do I hate him with great fury for taking up 10 minutes every week on CMLL in a stupid one fall match ahhhhhhhh. But I am starting to like The Big Show more and more every week now. I don't really care for the Power house style, I find this to be as slow and boring as the giants. But I find Mike Awesome vs Masato Tanaka always to be entertaining. Well every style has its stars and bums its just a matter of opinion.
Guest dreamer420 Report post Posted July 4, 2002 if i had to choose one from the list i would choose: The High flying Cruiserweight Spot o Mania and The Technical Experts move counter move stuff basically the styles of ric flair and rey mysterio jr.
Guest endgame722 Report post Posted July 4, 2002 I think my favorite type of wrestler would be someone who could wrestle in a variety of styles like Shawn Michaels. There are probably lots of guys in Japan or Mexico that also use this style but I've never seen any foreign wrestling so I can't really comment on any of the styles used outside of North America. If I had to choose one, I would go with technical expert as my favorite style. Also, I was wondering how you guys would classify Eddy Guerrero's style? He does't seem to really fit into any of the given choices.
Guest Nevermortal Report post Posted July 4, 2002 I always liked the All Japan style. Something about a grown man being dropped on his head repeatedly is fucking cool.
Guest TheHulkster Report post Posted July 4, 2002 I always like a good brawlers and good power wrestlers probably the most (ex: Bruiser Brody, Stan Hansen, Austin, Foley, Vader, Williams, Gordy). Second would be the Technical wrestlers.
Guest Flyboy Report post Posted July 4, 2002 if i had to choose one from the list i would choose: The High flying Cruiserweight Spot o Mania and The Technical Experts move counter move stuff I'm with dreamer on this one... high spots for Rey, RVD, Styles, etc. Technical for Flair, Storm, Benoit, Bret Hart, etc.

Guest El Psycho Diablo Report post Posted July 4, 2002 I can't stand the brawling crap. *shudders* So many years of it traumatizes a person. Here's hoping we get good main events from now on. I'd have to say my favorite is a combination between the NJ Junior style and the Benoit/Storm technical style. -Shiro

Guest Ace309 Report post Posted July 4, 2002 EDIT: In retrospect this was too harsh, but the point I would have been trying to make, had I said anything other than "What the fuck is wrong with you?" is that to lump Flair in with Funk and Abdullah, and them in with Hogan, is a mistake. To say that Ric Flair "wasn't even decent in his prime" is simply ridiculous, especially considering that his prime was pretty much all of the 80s. Funk and Abdullah are a completely different animal. Funk's entire GIMMICK is that he's a tough son of a bitch and doesn't get over on his wrestling as much as the fact that he's absolutely scary to look at and, in character, completely insane. Ditto Abdullah. (Abby, for one, hasn't aged badly, if only because his style consists almost entirely of fork attacks and an elbowdrop.) Hogan, on the other hand, got over solely on his charisma and superstar look. I think it would have been fairer to refer to Hogan and Jim Duggan during his last WCW run. Guest Rabbi_wilson13 Report post Posted July 4, 2002 Easy Flesher, he obviously misquoted. At least, be better of because saying stuff like that about The Man himself will bring lots of wrath down onto you... !!!!
Guest Mr. Slim Citrus Report post Posted July 4, 2002 Technical, with submission a close second.
Guest Trivia247 Report post Posted July 4, 2002 Ric Flair in terms of Age not in Skill. Ric Flair went in the Ring with a Brock Lesnar, Brock may have been considerate enough to Hit his moves Slower on Flair than anyone else, But FLAIR took it! He took a F5. Thats Why FLAIR is Da Man for his age. I didn't mean to lump him in with the Hogans and the Abbys it wasn't intential because just was talking about age. Hell Terry Funk at Flair's age now was Moonsaulting Bam Bam Bigalow in WCW 5 years earlier getting his arm cut up by Tiger Jeet in the Deathmatch Tourny and Burn't by the Exploding boards by Cactus Jack. Guest jtronx Report post Posted July 4, 2002 Anyone who can lay in the thick, stiff chops is OK by me. But then again I am a huge Lance Storm fan, and he's one of the lighter workers I've seen, so...
Guest XdojimeX Report post Posted July 5, 2002 "I always liked the All Japan style. Something about a grown man being dropped on his head repeatedly is fucking cool." All Japan style in a nutshell ladies and gentlemen. *sigh* I might recommend getting some tapes prior to 1998's Misawa/Kobashi remake of "Night of the Living Dead". See All Japan in all it's texture, and know what great wrestling is.

Guest RavishingRickRudo Report post Posted July 5, 2002 Kobashi/Ohtani goofy sell style. There is something about a wrestler fighting till his last breath that gets me. Eddie, Lyger, Benoit, Misawa. Probably 4 of the most well-rounded wrestlers in wrestling. They could go to any promotion and entertain, from Mexico, to Japan, to America, to Europe.
