Ever had soda after eating a hot pepper, or flaming hot doritos/cheetos? It just takes any flavor of the soda away and it makes it taste absolutely disgusting.

Uh..the chemicals in the pepper affect your taste buds, especially the ones that percieve sweetness. Or at least I think thats what it is..

I would think it has more to do with going from the strong flavour of a pepper to the weaker flavour of soft drinks.

Like, ever been outside, where it's really bright, then come back inside, and even though there's plenty of light, it looks really dim? It's because you get used to the really strong thing, and the weaker stuff is just kinda "bleh".

So the taste of the soda is probably just weakened. Know what I mean?

No...that because in brighter light your pupils get smaller. When your pupils are small they let in less light. So when you go inside, the dimmer lights make it hard to see, and your pupils become bigger.

And that is the end of the lesson today, class.

Pretty much the same thing, only more technically said...

You adjust to the stronger thing, and then the weaker thing seems even weaker.

With jalapenos..it's the damn seeds.

Avoid the seeds, and you get the less-hot part of the pepper.

If I'm eating something spicy, I usually drink pop like it's water. They just seem to go really well together for me.
