My thoughts on the Show

that was pretty good, and i too thought that hall looked like a taller/fatter version of xpac.  hogan just looked old, and if he isnt careful, he could hurt himself pretty bad in the ring.

I thought Nash looked to be in the best condition of the 3.

Hall looked god aweful..and Hogan...well...he looked no bigger than Edge.

That's probably why Hall did the Stunner. He's the only one who can take a bump on his ass. Hogan & Nash could break a hip landing on their ass.

also, because the way they are playing it, hall looks to be fueding with austin.  aside, nash is probably too tall to do the stunner.

I was wondering why Fat ass Hall was doing all the work. Nash did look really good though.

Honestly, Hall became so fat I really didn't recognize him at first. And I thought Hall was divorced and living in a box? He was wearing a wedding band.

that's about accurate although Invasion is up there too.

Nash could take the Stunner. He's about as tall as UT.

If Austin was gonna feud w/ any of them, I guess it should be Hall but the man has to cut that hair. It looked like an Alice Cooper wig.

"he (Hogan) looked no bigger than Edge."

wait til he starts hangin out withTrips, then Hogan will balloon up again. Him and Trips are already developing the Two-Man Power Trip Ver.2

I don't think ordering PPVs is on my top priority list anymore. It seems as if the WWF really cares more about there tv ratings than their PPVs. The PPVs seem to be oriented around getting you to watch RAW more than do what PPVs are supposed to do - deliver payoffs. They hype up the NWO coming to WWF, and what do they do? They spend the entire week before the PPV overshadowing the NWO with Stephanie. I have to change the channel whenever I see her, which doesn't seem like it would generate good ratings if a lot of people did it, but maybe the WWF knows something I don't know. The NWO makes their debut, and in my opinion, failed to show how they are a lethal dose of poison instead of old men who were hot five or six years ago. I guess they want people to tune in tomorrow to find out what happens, which undermines the efforts of what a PPV is supposed to accomplish - give people something that is worth shelling out their money for. Maybe if they put on a good program, they wouldn't have to resort to such WCW-like tactics to window dress their ratings.

goodhelmet: nash can take the stunner, but i was talking about doing it, as someone mentioned that hogan cannot at risk of breaking a hip, and i said that nash might be too tall to do it, leaving hall to make a total botch of the move.

Hall did a good job using a Stunner. Considering he doesn't do many. The last thing the WWF wants is Hogan breaking a hip or his tail-bone by using a Stunner.

ok, that makes perfect sense.

Substitute Nitro for RAW and that's exactly what WCW was about in their DYING days. It's backward thinking that's gonna give McMahon big headaches in the next couple of years. Eventually, the fanbase will hit rock-bottom and if McMahon doesn't think of something new, we'll all be ordering puro tapes or reminiscing of when wrestling in the U.S. wasn't all about the indys.

Hall did a good job with the Stunner? I didn't know what it WAS until JR said it later. I thought Hall had a new (Diamond) Cutter variation finisher.

I didn't know what Hall did either. Until I saw him do the second "Stunner". At first I thought it was a swinging neck-breaker. It was bad, but it could of been worse.

I think it's better for Hall to mess up the stunner since it's supposed to be someone else's move. I can't tell you how much I hated seeing the Rock do the crippler crossface during his feud with Benoit. It makes the move seem less special if everyone can do it.

Actually, I thought that Sid using the cross-face was much more of an atrocity than the Rock's usage, though that's like saying being shot in the head is better than slow poison.

And what about his abortion of the Sharpshooter? I liked Rock alot better before he started doing other people's moves, the same w/ Kurt Angle. I don't like his Ankle lock (i'm trying to forget Shamrock), his Rolling germans (get well, Benoit), or his Whoo!!! Ric Flair's back man, get your own yell!

Maybe Kurt can yell "OOOOOOO" instead of "WHOOOOO". Can you belive the fans & WWF people spell it "Wooooo"? And did you see Flair's new shirt? Good God is that ugly. He's Ric Flair, and he gets a crappy t-shirt.

I always thought Kurt had more of an Owen Hart "Whoo!" instead of a ric Flair "Whoooooooooooooooo" if that makes sense.

Actually, Angle doing the german suplexes bothered me at first, but when you look at it, the move isn't Benoit's gimmick (it isn't named in any kind of way that will give him credit for being the sole originator or user of the move a la the STONE COLD Stunner, ROCK Bottom, CRIPPLER Crossface, Walls of JERICHO, etc.,) so it pales in comparison to some of the other offenses I have seen.

Speaking of woooooo (yeah I spelled it with no h), I hate how they run Ric Flair's woooooo into the ground. Why the hell do they think they have to put it into his music (as if we won't hear him say it himself thirty times)? Actually, the WWF music sucks as a whole right now, but I won't get started on that in this thread.

God Bless Owen Hart. Another reason to hate the Rock's Sharpshooter.

"so it pales in comparison to some of the other offenses I have seen. "

Maybe Benoit didn't originate the Rolling germans but he's the Only one I can remember doing that ever prior to Angle.  And the Walls of Jericho is a boston crab but in its proper form was actually a rather hurty submission that Benoit had used on Jericho in Japan during the SuperJ tourney and that Jericho used to employ in WCW. If he applied it like that, the move would be so over its not even funny.

Jericho has used the "Liontamer" once in a while in the WWF. I agree, it would be over if he did it like that.

Someone doing an ankelock is different than the Rock putting someone in the Walls of JERICHO. Someone could logically see why the anklelock is called the anklelock without knowing who was doing it three years ago as opposed to a move such as the Walls of JERICHO. If a casual fan were to ask why the move the Rock is putting on someone is called the Walls of JERICHO, it would seem stupid to say, "because this guy named Chris Jericho does it and it's his trademark move," because it doesn't make sense for someone to do a move that is named after another individual and is their trademark move. I'm not talking about a move like the Thesz press that has become incorporated into peoples' movesets to the point that it's no longer a finishing move. When everyone starts using your move, it loses its effectiveness. Take a look at Shawn Michaels. His Sweet Chin Music/Superkick finisher - how lame does the superkick seem now that everyone does it? Remember when the DDT was a finisher? What about the piledriver? When everyone does it and nobody succumbs to it, it loses its effectiveness as a finishing move.

I agree 100%. How many times has someone tapped to said Walls in the last 6 months? Not many. How many times has the stunner been kicked out of in the last year? At least a dozen times. Hell, how's Hogan gonna react when someone kicks out of that weak ass legdrop?! I don't think the man could invent an effective finisher. He's not that talented.

I don't see why Jericho doing the Walls "right" would get it over so much more. It's not like the other main event guys would suddenly start tapping to it just because it looks cooler.

The real Walls looks a whole lot more painful, and I think it wouldn't hurt anyone's credibility to tap to it since I think the move would hurt if they were put in it anyway.

Yep, it hurts.  But lemme clue you in on something: the "Boston crab" version actually hurts MORE in real life than the "Liontamer" one.  Poor WWF: when they're fake they're fake, but when they're real they're still "fake"...

As for Angle winning the title shot, has anyone else noticed that this is the exact same thing they did at No Way Out two years ago, with a heel Big Show winning the title shot and a heel HHH "retiring" Foley to retain the championship?  Come on Vince, the fans' attention spans aren't THAT short that nobody will recognize the exact same booking for the exact same PPV.

Well, most people here seem to think they will actually go with Jericho/Angle....
