Guest DARRYLXWF Report post Posted July 4, 2002 On August 23, 2000, Chuck Palumbo was the WCW world champion for less than 2 minutes. I think it was inevitable that a thread should be dedicated to the man himself, Chuck Palumbo. Care to share the memories?
Guest dreamer420 Report post Posted July 4, 2002 i remember his debut on april 10, 1999 i believe when he arrived in lex luger's gear and beat the dogshit out of him with the lex-flexer. i marked out for him and sean o'haire running in during a smackdown too right as the invasion started. that is all. Guest M Nyland Report post Posted July 4, 2002 bah....troll.....bah - this has been: YOUR Resident Sheep/Alert Mechanism M NYLAND BAH.... ...maybe I am wrong...but a thread for Chuck Palumbo?? Bring on the Billy Gunn thread... cause remember...he was a 10 time Tag Team Champion (or something)
Guest JHawk Report post Posted July 4, 2002 No offense, but if Benoit's WCW World Title was never officially recognized before McMahon bought them out, I refuse to acknowledge Palumbo's reign. Then again, did any acknowledge the WCW Title at that point after the David Arquette fiasco?
Guest LesnarLunatic Report post Posted July 4, 2002 Chuck Palumbo has shown himself to be the team player, even voluntarily taking the hazing from Bradshaw and others. Chuck Palumbo... team player
Guest M Nyland Report post Posted July 4, 2002 Now that I think about it....Maybe Chuck Palumbo's character could just be a HUGE shoot at the hazing he took... Every time he acts queer....Bradshaw rapes Chris Harvard
Guest evenflowDDT Report post Posted July 4, 2002 What's the story behind Chuck Palumbo's lengthy WCW Title run? Were they just giving it away at that point, or was he the one millionth person to job in WCW, or what?
Guest dreamer420 Report post Posted July 4, 2002 i think jr has mentioned that benoit was the wcw champion before.
Guest Vitamin X Report post Posted July 4, 2002 Heyman used to champion Benoit as the ONLY undefeated WCW Champion That was WHY I loved that man!!!! FUCK YOU LAWLER!
Guest evenflowDDT Report post Posted July 4, 2002 Heyman used to champion Benoit as the ONLY undefeated WCW Champion That was WHY I loved that man!!!! FUCK YOU LAWLER! Hey, I'm all for Heyman coming back on commentary... it might also give Brock a chance to show his merits on his own, without a mouthpiece. Hmmm... that's odd, I haven't gone to sleep yet and I'm already in dream land.
Guest dreamer420 Report post Posted July 4, 2002 i'm all up for heyman to return on commentary. i loved all his little inside shit that he would mention during matches, especially involving former ecw talent. his arguments with jr were all histerical too. Guest Vitamin X Report post Posted July 4, 2002 I LOVED his arguments with JR, they truly developed a beautful heel/face commentary team, and Heyman made JR look so whiny MY favortie Heymanism came when Stone Cold turned on the WWF... Heyman (Visibly and cameras panning to show his face, making the half-paralyzed JR Face): STONE COLD! OH MY GOD! STONE COLD! STONE COLD! BY GAWD! I swear JR must've been so pissed you could hear him breathign anger on the set, and who knows if it was legit or not. I was laughing my ass off personally. Lawler, I remember when that bastard came back, he was trying to pass it off like he was gonna be a heel, but he quickly went back to the pseudo-face bullshit, and is full-blown into it again. Noone really cares about this guy anymore, Heyman can and always will be funny, entertaining, and if not that, at least interesting. But anyways, back to the former WCW Champion, Chuck Palumbo... Guest dreamer420 Report post Posted July 4, 2002 i know jr was pissed out there sometimes. it was part of the reason why he also talked shit about the alliance and the old ecw. jr yelling at heyman to kiss his ass was wicked.
Guest JAxlMorrison Report post Posted July 4, 2002 Am I the one who doesn't remember Chuck Palumbo being WCW champ at all? Anyone care to explain what happened a little further? BTW, for the record, Palumbo was the only member of the NBT I actually hated and wanted to see fail, so of course he's the only one Vince has pushed. LOL, oh sweet irony! Guest Hogan Made Wrestling Report post Posted July 4, 2002 What happened was Russo gave Palumbo a title shot against Booker T on Nitro. Of course, a massive screwjob followed, with Russo as the ref and all the NBTs at ringside. Eventually, Kevin Nash came in and hit Booker T with a chair and Palumbo won the match. Then the Cat (commissioner) came out and ordered the match restarted and Booker T won. I was actually happy when Palumbo won the belt because I liked the NBT stable. Guest Spaceman Spiff Report post Posted July 5, 2002 I like Chuck. I liked him in WCW, from "Main Event" Chuck Palumbo, to carrying around the Lex-Flexer, to tag team champ w/ O'Haire. I was a little skeptical about Chuck teaming w/ Gunn, but I've found the team to be enjoyable. To sum up: I like Chuck.
Guest saturnmark4life Report post Posted July 5, 2002 JR and Heyman was too awesome to continue. After trish won the women's title at survivor series JR was like "well, she came in the back door, and i bet you'd like that Paul..." Rimshot! I was cracking up when Paul was all like 'gimme a hug, c'mon' and Ross just looked so disgusted. In other news, chuck palumbo is my least favourite worker in the wwf.
