There's a certain track from the ROM of Final Fantasy VI, (I own the SNES copy and a ROM, so no "PAY FOR IT!" bitching, please) that has never been released on a CD as far as I can tell, and no one on Kazaa or Audiogalaxy or anything has it. Using the latest version of SNES9X, is it possible to record an MP3 or WAV from the ROM and convert it? Or is it possible with other emulators? How?

(In case you're wondering, it's the opening credits music - EVERYONE on p2p programs has a butchered orchestra version)

And question number two. There are a few tracks on Silent Hill 2 that I like, but are not available on any version of the soundtrack. I read a while back that there was a program for Silent Hill 1, where you could put the PSX cd in your CD-Rom, and the program would rip audio and movies from the CD. Is there something like that for PS2 discs?

Bleh.

Well, in most cases with Squaresoft games, you're in luck - most of their OST's have been released on CD...which means that if you have a p2p program, you can scour the 'net and find an mp3 for the song you're looking for.

I could tell you the title of the song (or at least help you find it), though, if you can tell me where exactly in the game you hear it.

It's the opening credits of FF6, when Terra and the two guards are marching toward's Narshe. All the p2p programs I've used turn up a butchered orchestral version, not the in-game version.

Chris, I have the 3-disc original OST from FFVI. Hit me up on AIM later and I'll rip the file for you.

The track he's looking for is "Opening Theme", Edwin - if you've got Kefka's Domain, it's the first track on the first CD, if I remember right.
