Guest HBK16 Report post Posted February 18, 2002 How do you like when people debut or come back after a long absence. When you are suprised or how WWF tells you. For example, HHH. They told us he was coming back. nWo. They told us. For me, I prefer to be suprised. It makes the debut a whole lot better.
Guest 1000 Faces Report post Posted February 18, 2002 It depends ... with the nWo, no, they shouldn't have told us, in my opinion. I understand that they wanted to pop a buyrate, but I still think that there's something to be said for the "holy shit" factor, particularly when it involves seeing guys you never thought you'd ever see in the WWF again (particularly if you weren't "smart"). I mean, if you didn't know it was coming, how hard would you have marked out the first time the porn music hit? I personally think that it would have been better for business, too, because what you sacrifice in potential buyrate for No Way Out you'd probably make up for with ratings for at least the rest of the month (and February is a sweeps month) and, eventually, the 'Mania buyrate (which may or may not need the help ... it will automatically do a good number, but just HOW good depends on the card). In the case of someone like Hunter, though, everyone knew he was coming back and, if you watch all the programming, approximately when. People would have started to expect it anyway, and given that, why not just tell them ... it's something to build to and it can give the product direction if handled properly. Just my opinion, though ... later on ...

Guest Ihatesmarksandmarks Report post Posted February 18, 2002 i agree, the nwo should have been a suprise...even if it was already known in smarkland that they were signed, a lot of the marks would be stunned, and it would create some buzz.
Guest RicFlairGlory Report post Posted February 18, 2002 and instead, we had to sit around and get buzzed in order to deal with the rest of the crap on the card
