Guest Kingpk Report post Posted July 5, 2002 Seriously, it's been on like 7 times in the last 5 days. I like the movie and all, but this seems a bit excessive. Besides, if they didn't get the actors they did (Will Smith and Jeff Goldblum, especially) this movie would have sucked immensly.
Guest MarvinisaLunatic Report post Posted July 5, 2002 Would you rather see ID4:2 - When Terrorists Attack? The rumored sequel has will smith and some other returning cast members fighting terrorists who attack the US on July 4th, or something to the effect... Guest redbaron51 Report post Posted July 5, 2002 Hmmm.... I like the movie, but like MTV and TBS they overplay the music/movies they show
Guest Michael Joel Benoit Report post Posted July 5, 2002 Why the fuck would ID4:2 be about terrorists when the main plot in ID4 was aliens? I don't believe this movie needs a sequel, it has to be one movie or else it will ruin the aura surrounding it.
Guest evenflowDDT Report post Posted July 5, 2002 Well, it is a summer movie, and it is summer, and yesterday WAS Independence Day, but I still know what you mean. What you rather FX do, play a "21 Jump Street" or "Millennium" marathon? ... You know what, I think I would too
Guest MarvinisaLunatic Report post Posted July 6, 2002 I forget the address off the top of my head, but if you go to sci fi wire they have a link to the ID4:2 info..
Guest kkktookmybabyaway Report post Posted July 6, 2002 Damn, well FX needs to put something on until the next season of The Shield airs
Guest evenflowDDT Report post Posted July 6, 2002 How about another "X-Files" or "Buffy" marathon? It's not like the station is known for anything else Actually I think they recently had a "Son of the Beach" marathon, and since I always forget this show is on and it's pretty good I hope they replay that soon. Guest Shaved Bear Report post Posted July 6, 2002 Why the fuck would ID4:2 be about terrorists when the main plot in ID4 was aliens? the terorists ARE illegal aliens technically
Guest Vyce Report post Posted July 6, 2002 FX would have you to believe that the only films every made in the history of cinema are: 1) ID4, 2) True Lies, or 3) one of the Die Hard flicks. They needs to run down to their local Blockbuster and get a new flick to air.

Actually, I thought the movie sucked more because Will Smith was in it. I found his comedy act to be very tiresome, and didn't fit in the with the story. ID4 attempted to be a serious film about alien invasion, and he just cheesed it up.
Guest SuperTonyJaymz Report post Posted July 6, 2002 FX is good cannel, but they playmovies alot hen just stop. I mean, months ago Varsity Blues and Mall Rats played all the time, no its True Lies, Die Hard, etc. Dont get me sarted on MTV. They have Diet Efect and TRLon during te day, then they have All Things Rock come on at like midnight. Whassupwitdat? On top of that, they sometimes cancel ATR and give us Rock Show, a TRL wannabe. do i sound bitter?

Guest hardyz1 Report post Posted July 6, 2002 "Hello, boys! I'm BAAAAAAAAACK!" *wretch* I love this movie, though, cheesy shit aside. One thing that always pissed me off, though: During the final battle scene, why did the dumbasses use their missiles instead of the guns on the small ships? I was watching Ebert and Roeper one night and they were talking about good DVD's to buy. They mentioned the ID4 DVD and said it had alternate scenes. They showed one where Russel Case comes in to save the day in the final battle, but instead of being in his military plane, he's in the crop duster! Imagine if this had made the final cut... On top of that, they sometimes cancel ATR and give us Rock Show, a TRL wannabe. do i sound bitter? I have only known FX to play re-runs of old syndicated shows, many of which used to be on Fox. They also have their three original shows: "Son of the Beach", "The Best Damn Sports Show Period", and "The Shield". Seeing as how those are all less than two years old, I really have no idea what else the station has played in all its existence, and really don't now either... it's just one of those filler channels that usually doesn't have anything interesting enough to motivate you to watch it but is good to "settle on" when flipping channels. As for MTV, I gave up on the channel long ago, but they can still surprise me... last night at around midnight I came across a program of theirs called "Most Controversial Videos", and even though I disagreed with some of the selections, it was a very well put together program, with the actual video interspersed with news clips, commentary from the artist, etc. I remember I used to stay up real late on Sunday nights and tape 120 Minutes, but then they took it off the air, and now they moved it to MTV2, which I don't even get. Guest C.H.U.D. Report post Posted July 6, 2002 Randy Quaid was far worse than Will Smith in ID4. Yeah, he was another high "cheese" factor in ID4. Amazingly enough, when I saw it in the theatre, people actually cheered for his "Hello boys, I'm back!" line near the end. Ahh, braindead suburban zombies. Guest RetroRob215 Report post Posted July 6, 2002 FX won't even have the X-Files for much longer because in the Fall TNT (or TBS) and Sci-Fi are picking it up.

Guest evenflowDDT Report post Posted July 7, 2002 FX won't even have the X-Files for much longer because in the Fall TNT (or TBS) and Sci-Fi are picking it up. All right... more "Millennium" marathons! I always liked the show, even if it could sometimes be lacking and/or confusing for no reason other than to be confusing (but then, in its latter days, so did "X-Files"). And what's the difference between TNT and TBS?! I never figured it out... they're both Turner stations, and both play mostly old movies. The only difference I know is that TNT has "Witchblade" and I think TBS plays Wizard of Oz and TNT doesn't.

TBS shows Ripley's Believe it or Not and the new Worst Case Scenario, both of which I mark for.
