Here's a way to get the SWF's name out there...

The FWF is holding it's annual "Last Man Standing", open entry competition. If you guys want to get the SWF some recognition in the e-fed community, this is the perfect way to do it. Right now, we are still relatively unknown in the greater e-fedding community, and that hurts us with membership. However, if we can get some guys going far in this tournament, we'll start getting recognition and respect... especially if you shill the SWF (make sure they know it is SMARKS WRESTLING FEDERATION because there's another, infamous SWF out there) on the bottom of your RPs.

 

Oh yeah, I forgot... it's an RP tournament. But, you guys are WRITERS, not just match-writers, WRITERS. If you want a good way to get some character development and whatnot, this is it.

 

What you need for this is the following:

 

1) A web page. I reccomend Angelfire because they give you a good amount of webspace.

 

2) An RP layout. Mine looks like this: Tyler's layout I had Mercury design mine, but he's hella-busy with other stuff right now. If you know ANY HTML, these are easy to make. Just make sure they organize your narration and story content well.

 

Oh yeah, I forgot... roleplaying for dummies.

 

In a roleplay, you are basically writing a promo that contains two things: Narration (trash talk) and story (which, actually, may contain more trash talk). The trash talk, actually, comes very easily and is the bulk of your roleplay. You just trash your opponent and, if he's written one, reply to what he says about you in his. The story portion? Uh, well, basically it's what we'd do in an SWF promo, only it doesn't have to be that long or significant. It can be relatively stupid, in fact. Nothing important at all has to go on. This is my style of roleplaying.

 

However, there are other styles as well. You can satyrize and make fun of your opponent the entire time in your RP, making a mockery of him as well. This is where you jokesters (Raynor, Edwin, etc.) come into play.

 

Basically, these are the two styles that are most commonly used. Back to what you need...

 

3) A logo!

 

Start looking around for wrestlers or actors that can be your base model... don't all pick HHH or Jericho, look for someone that would actually PORTRAY your character. I use Ethan Hawke. Merc made my logo too, but as I said, he's not too available right now... so... there are plenty of people that might be willing to do it for you, and there are plenty of image editing programs out there. It's not tough.

 

4) A sample RP

 

This is tough... but it doesn't have to be. Basically, what I'd do is throw your best promo into HTML and pretty it up, then put it on your website.

 

 

 

 

This is a great... GREAT way for us to get recognized and I think there are a lot of people in our fed that have the potential to do well in this tournament. Why, you ask, don't I just do the job and shill SWF while I compete in the tournament? Because I wouldn't be as credible, I'm in FWF and IWF as well. So is Merc. We need straight SWF talent to RP and do well for this to work.

 

I'm sure Stubby would let people competing in the tournament have a break in their schedule for the time being. The plusses outweigh the negatives.

Remember the last time we competed in this tournament? Our RP team of Outcast, Divefire, Neilsen and Cyclone fricking Comet lost to some idiots who used feces and piles of profanity in their RPs.

 

Nonetheless, I'd love to do this. I'll sign up, but I may not be able to compete so well, since I'm going to be away from computers from the 10th to the 21st. If I can get around that opening round schedule-wise, it'll work...

I think this is a wonderful idea, and I think we have some people who could do well. Personally, and no offense to anyone, but I'd like to see...Edwin, King, Raynor, Bo, Ash, X (I can get him), and Wilson. I think that would be an awsome group to send over. A team...maybe...but I think we stand a better chance if they go solo because that's 6 or 7 entries as opposed to one.

 

Anyway, if we get some people to do this, I'd be willing to host your websites for you. I have the room to host them all I think. I can also give you a hand with the HTML...not a ton of help as I'm busy building sites for $$$, but I can help with some stuff to get you going or whatever. Annie will be back in a few days, and maybe she could help people with logos, except Wilson who already has one.

 

I think this is awsome and is definitely something a few people should do. Then again, it's up to them because it's their time.

 

I'd also like to see Ash jump in there, and Stevens could be a good addition as well.

 

Oh, and of course I'm not volunteering myself because I'm the pure definition of a match writer because I can write a damn good match, but my promos blow hard since I'm not a writer by nature...as in, I have trouble passing English classes because my essays blow.

Basically, you're not facing a single person. You're facing everyone and they cut them in half each round.

 

You do get someone to RP against, though, but it's simply a person to RP against if you need it. You don't have to go against them if you don't want because both, plausably, can advance to the second round.

It's the FWF president, Justin Goldman, as the main judge. He's not much better...

 

...but two of the bracket judges, Kellen Crumb and Dave Marlow, are ridiculously awesome. The other two, I'm not sure, but those two rule and they have more influence then anyone. I'm sure it will be relatively fair, as long as Justin doesn't screw it up.. but we wouldn't have to worry about that until the finals.
