Guest MrRant Posted July 6, 2002 Report Posted July 6, 2002 Now that Cartoon Network is showing GI Joe, I have a feeling that we will finally see a DVD box set like Transformers. What I want to know is why doesn't Cartoon Network jump on He-Man as well? That shit would bring in a lot of cash. Especially the DVD's since people pay big bucks for old figures on EBay etc. The Transformers box set is almost always sold out at my Best Buy. By the way... why don't they hook up with the Transformers as well? Bring it all back at least maybe on Boomerang.

I think that's what's kept Chopping Mall out of print and off DVD (sorry for bringing it in, it's off topic but "He-Man" isn't the only '80s relic with legal woes... what, did copyright lawyers just not understand what they were doing in the '80s?). As for cartoons, I second a "Thundercats" DVD release. As for it still being on CN, I haven't seen it in a while, but I was never big on "Toonami" anyway as it became more and more focused around "Dragon Ball Z", which I never liked. They probably moved "Thundercats" to Boomerang (which I don't get! ). I also wouldn't mind seeing "Jabber Jaw" (funny how I hate "Scooby Doo" but enjoy this "Scooby Doo" rip-off) and the animated "Godzilla" series on DVD, even though Godzuki could get annoying. Perhaps, as DVD-R technology becomes more available, people will start trading this stuff over the internet. I'm sure if you looked in the right newsgroup right now you could trade for lots of old shows on VHS. I'm just too lazy, and growing somewhat weary of VHS to do it.

Of course they might have just said that to get ppl to buy the damn vcd. i think thundercats is still on but they might have taken it off for Hamtaro. thundercats was one of my faves too.

They have news & links to tons of other websites devoted to all things Joe. I'm pretty sure that Transformers DVDs are already available, and a G.I. Joe one is in the works. I would confirm this, but I'm too lazy. Best bet is to check out the link.

That's taking it back right there. I haven't seen that show for like 12 - 15 years. Didn't the little kids vehicle look kind of like a garbage can? I don't know why, but that's stuck in my mind for some reason.

"Toonami" is the 3pm-6pm line-up on Cartoon Network that had "Thundercats", "Silverhawks", "Tenchi Muyo", and "Dragon Ball Z". I got to catch the last half of "Thundercats" a lot after school, and stayed tuned for "Silverhawks" (which my friends and I really liked for some reason, even though it wasn't that great of a show), but cut out for the anime. I actually liked the characters in "Tenchi Muyo", but apparently there are several different series' with them and CN switched around a lot so I couldn't follow it.
