Guest NoCalMike Posted February 18, 2002 Report Posted February 18, 2002 Azif Rock is the right person to make fun of past gimmicks, hell Rock was getting "rocky sucks" chants as a face that had to be edited off of future WWF home video releases. They basically just took what Rock and Austin gave them. Oh and why no help from the Rock when the nWo was jumping Austin....? Unless, nWo was really trying to sell the "we're just misunderstood chaps looking for a 2nd chance" gimmick, I don't see why they(especially Hall) wouldn't attack the easiest target for past gimmicks, ROCKY.... -Mike
Guest RicFlairGlory Posted February 18, 2002 Report Posted February 18, 2002 because they were setting up Hogan / Rock, because the nWo was supposed to just beat up Austin, and because they were trying to keep the "we're just marks" facade up
Guest Ihatesmarksandmarks Posted February 18, 2002 Report Posted February 18, 2002 id pop if they called him flex like that insane rocky hating writer that used to write for smarks....where has that guy gone btw?
Guest RicFlairGlory Posted February 18, 2002 Report Posted February 18, 2002 flexy lexy is luger going to return now?
Guest JAMES900 Posted February 18, 2002 Report Posted February 18, 2002 No, and eric writes for 411wrestling. The actual show was good if not predictable with the NWO run in at the end.
Guest RicFlairGlory Posted February 18, 2002 Report Posted February 18, 2002 the show sucked. It really did. nothing meaningful happened, there were no swerves, no revelations, no resolutions. it sucked. it was a longer smackdown that cost everybody 40 bucks
Guest JAMES900 Posted February 18, 2002 Report Posted February 18, 2002 Cost me nothing.... I still enjoyed it personally there were no real bad matches.
Guest Shockmaster Posted February 18, 2002 Report Posted February 18, 2002 the nwo saved that pay per view, just seeing rock rip on hogan, nash and hall was worth my money.
Guest griffinmills Posted February 18, 2002 Report Posted February 18, 2002 Right, because stealing is the ONLY way to see it for free...
Guest Drury37 Posted February 18, 2002 Report Posted February 18, 2002 The nWo returning is something memorable from No Way Out. Thanks.
Guest Mad Dog Posted February 18, 2002 Report Posted February 18, 2002 Leave it to the WWF to ruin the easiest to write angles. I mean seriously in WCW the first two days of the nWo saw huge amounts of carnage as they beat the hell out of everyone. But the WWF is too concerned about protecting Austin, Rock and Trips to the point where years pass before they do a clean job.
Guest Tony149 Posted February 18, 2002 Report Posted February 18, 2002 I think the WWF are going to the nWo beat the hell out of the WWF guys. Last night they were playing the nWo as "mis-understood marks". That'll probably change on Raw.
Guest Some Guy Posted February 18, 2002 Report Posted February 18, 2002 I think they wanted the nWo to actually have some sort of reason to hate Austin and Rock. They came in as "misunderstood marks" just trying to be nice, sarcastically but it gives them a excuse in their minds to beat those guys up. They were nice to Austin and Rock and Austin and Rock were dickheads. I don't think this was the right way to do this angle but it does make sense. It follows Foley's rule of Heeldom, "The heel must believe that he is right and justified in his actions no matter what."
Guest alexcc79 Posted February 18, 2002 Report Posted February 18, 2002 Maybe your swerve comes tonight when Rocky joins the nWo. Just kidding. They didn't snap at Rocky because there mission is to destroy the wwf, and Austin IS the wwf. Rocky is a major part of the wwf, but Austin IS everything wwf attitude ever stood for. He is realistic in that he hates the boss and gets to do what all of us would love to do, beat him up. Rocky is just so much larger than life in his charater that it wouldn't make sense to attack him because he doesn't represent the company, he represents himself.
Guest Tony149 Posted February 18, 2002 Report Posted February 18, 2002 Yeah, most of the stuff with the nWo, SCSA & The Rock was done to set up their feuds.
Guest Austin3164life Posted February 18, 2002 Report Posted February 18, 2002 "They didn't snap at Rocky because there mission is to destroy the wwf, and Austin IS the wwf. The Rock is a major part of the WWF, no doubt about that, because he is the "media crossover" darling, but in terms of wrestling, people think of Austin first as the top man, which is the only explanation I can think of. Or maybe Hogan is playing his "hold down stars" angle, and doesn't want Austin (his so-called "successor") to hold the two top belts. But for WM, I smell Austin/Rock/Triple H vs. nWO.....
Guest Tony149 Posted February 18, 2002 Report Posted February 18, 2002 I think The Rock will play the WWF's version of Sting. The nWo says he's nWo, the roster turns on him and the Rock becomes a man without a home. Or maybe SCSA would play that.
Guest Flair5000 Posted February 18, 2002 Report Posted February 18, 2002 Oh my god...Lex Luger...please tell me he's not been in contact with vince. please.
Guest Tony149 Posted February 18, 2002 Report Posted February 18, 2002 I actually read a rumor on a website that the WWF might want to talk to Luger. I don't think they'll bring him in though.
