Guest MillenniumMan831 Posted July 7, 2002 Report Posted July 7, 2002 I was going through my tapes last week and I came across a tape that came with The Acclaim VHS WrestleMania Home Video Game. I don't have the board game anymore. The tape was basically a couple hundred clips of matches from the WM3-WM4 era. Basically each wrestler/team represented either red or blue. (Example: the clip is Savage vs. DiBiase. Savage is red and DiBiase is blue. If DiBiase dominates the clip w/ little offense from Savage, blue would get about 10 points and red maybe 2.) If your wrestler won the match during the clip, you'd get 20 points. If your wrestler cheated, negative points would be dished out. Most of the clips were from MSG, Boston Garden, Spectrum, SNME, WM4, Maple Leaf Gardens, SuperStars, Challenge, ect. Some of the clips included: - Hogan vs. Race (W/ both table spots and finish) - Hogan vs. DiBiase w/finish - Andre vs. Duggan w/ finish - Harts vs. Strike Force - Demolition vs. Strike Force - Savage vs. Honky w/ finish - Savage vs. DiBiase - Bulldogs vs. Islanders . . . Tons More! So, anyone ever have this?
Guest dreamer420 Posted July 7, 2002 Report Posted July 7, 2002 i've never heard of it but it sounds sweet. the clips sound good too.
Guest JHawk Posted July 7, 2002 Report Posted July 7, 2002 I still have mine someplace (although that tape was ruined long ago). It was actually pretty fun, but it kinda lost its appeal once you could figure out who was getting how many points before the clip was even finished. I was anxiously awaiting new tapes for it, but they never came.
Guest Daredevil21 Posted July 7, 2002 Report Posted July 7, 2002 I've seen it along with the rest of the game several times on ebay. I've always considered picking it up, if for nothing other than the tape. Is the tape worth it? Sounds ok, and since I'm down with WWF stuff from that era, it probably would be a sound purchase.
Guest RepoMan Posted July 7, 2002 Report Posted July 7, 2002 One of my brothers bought that at a flea market w/o the instructions so we had no idea how to play. It's probalby around my house some where.
Guest MillenniumMan831 Posted July 7, 2002 Report Posted July 7, 2002 Well, the tape does contain clips of matches seen on other Coliseum videos (Savage/Honky--SNME, Savage/DiBiase--SNME/WM4, ect). But there's plenty of stuff on it I'm guessing you've never seen before - Demolition vs. Rougeaus (Boston Garden) - George Steele vs. One Man Gang (Spectrum) - Hart Foundation vs. Strike Force (MSG--don't know if it's a rematch or not) - SNME interviews w/ Honky, Hogan, Savage (Danger Zone promo) Plenty of other stuff. I'd say it's worth about 10-12 dollars. The tape is cool too because it's about 2 hours but it's all clips so you may notice something new every time you pop it in.
Guest Daredevil21 Posted July 7, 2002 Report Posted July 7, 2002 How clipped are the matches? Those sound like some real solid ones, but I don't think I wanna buy a tape that has 30-second clips of said matches.
Guest MillenniumMan831 Posted July 7, 2002 Report Posted July 7, 2002 In that case, DO NOT buy the game because that's exactly how the tape is. Plus, considering how many Coliseum Videos you have, you'd probably wouldn't want it. However, if someone was interested in that era (87-88) that didn't have any tapes on it, I'd make a strong suggestion to pick it up despite the clipped-nature of the tape.
Guest EI Cubano Posted July 7, 2002 Report Posted July 7, 2002 Man, that game sucked. The game itself was so mundanely boring that me and my brother just shoved it under the bed and watched the eight second clips which would always end by freezing and saying... Red: 20 Blue: 0 At least the box and the gameboard were pretty cool looking though.
Guest Kahran Ramsus Posted July 7, 2002 Report Posted July 7, 2002 I think I only played the game once, and then just watched the tape.
Guest Your Olympic Hero Posted July 7, 2002 Report Posted July 7, 2002 I used to have it, but I only watched the tape... never actually tried to play the game. The video was awesome, but the pause time between clips was annoying. (they show a pic of Andre and Hogan staredown every time) The highlight for me was Honky barely escaping with his IC title over Savage and whoever else.
Guest nWoScorpion Posted July 8, 2002 Report Posted July 8, 2002 I'm not sure if its the same but did it like come wih a playing board? (I forgot since last time i remember was like 1989)
Guest Mark4steamboat Posted July 8, 2002 Report Posted July 8, 2002 i saw an AWA version of this on eBay as well.

Guest Jayson_Hart Posted July 9, 2002 Report Posted July 9, 2002 I actually really enjoyed playing the game and I still have it in mint condition
Guest Zack Malibu Posted July 9, 2002 Report Posted July 9, 2002 I had this game, but never got through a full game of it. I alway just wanted to watch the clips. I used to watch it all the time at my grandmothes when I got babysat. I've also got the Wayne's World VCR game, but never played it. I know where that is, but I'm not sure if I still have the WWF tape around anywhere.
Guest nWoScorpion Posted July 9, 2002 Report Posted July 9, 2002 I use to have the Waynes World one too but i oddly i never used it, so i gave it to my brother
