Guest C.H.U.D. Posted July 7, 2002 Report Posted July 7, 2002 You could just post a link to Box Office Guru and save yourself some typing. I'm not suprised MiB II was #1, it was expected. I won't be suprised if it drops in business once word of mouth gets around about how inferior it is compared to the original. I hate lazy, cash in sequels. That's what MiB II was.
Guest Human Fly Posted July 7, 2002 Report Posted July 7, 2002 I thought "Like Mike" would bomb for sure. I also thought the Powerpuff Girls would do decent business. I wouldn't be surprised to see the latter get an increase in business during the week from little kids during the day.
Guest chirs3 Posted July 7, 2002 Report Posted July 7, 2002 Come on, Powerpuff Girls! I hope they make enough to at least warrant a sequel.
Guest evenflowDDT Posted July 8, 2002 Report Posted July 8, 2002 I hate lazy, cash in sequels. You mean like the inevitable string of Scooby Doo sequels we'll see because the first one somehow managed to do well?
Guest Mattdotcom Posted July 8, 2002 Report Posted July 8, 2002 Don't get me started on Scooby-Doo... Or Like Mike... Or movies...

Guest evenflowDDT Posted July 8, 2002 Report Posted July 8, 2002 Don't get me started on Scooby-Doo... Or Like Mike... Or movies... Actually, speaking of movies, I'm curious why you don't write DVD reviews for the new site now... it's just me & Polk & retro-Jay, and since I only write up Full Moon reviews nobody reads mine, and since Polk only does international Japanese director's cuts of his favorite movies that nobody except French people ever see... we could use someone else to round it out. You just don't have the time for DVD reviews anymore?
Guest dreamer420 Posted July 8, 2002 Report Posted July 8, 2002 i expected men in black 2 to do bigger numbers this weekend. i guess the popularity of mr. deeds, and like mike probably brought mib2's numbers down.
