Guest Mr. Slim Citrus Posted July 8, 2002 Report Posted July 8, 2002 Is there any reason in particular why Raven changed and/or had to change the name of the "Evenflow?"
Guest Nezbyte Posted July 8, 2002 Report Posted July 8, 2002 It was probably a creative change the writing team made.
Guest JHawk Posted July 8, 2002 Report Posted July 8, 2002 I doubt it. Hell, I'm still surprised they let him still be Raven rather than changing it to "sparrow" and giving him a finisher called "Early Bird Gets the worm" or something.
Guest HartFan86 Posted July 8, 2002 Report Posted July 8, 2002 Maybe it has something to do with Pearl Jam and the copyright, but that wouldn't make sense considering the WCW used it. Who knows.
Guest Dr. Wrestlingphysics Posted July 8, 2002 Report Posted July 8, 2002 My understanding (which is probably wrong ) is that "Raven" is the property of Scott Levy and Evenflow was copyrighted by WCW after Raven moved there from ECW, so WWF could use the name Raven as it was owned by the individual, but not evenflow as it was owned by the company (WCW). Of course, now WCW is dead, WWF/E can use what name they want.
Guest Mr. Slim Citrus Posted July 8, 2002 Report Posted July 8, 2002 Why would Pearl Jam have a copyright on the word "evenflow?" If anyone should be entitled to copyright it, shouldn't it be these guys?
Guest Army Eye Posted July 8, 2002 Report Posted July 8, 2002 There's no copyright on the word evenflow. WWE probably just figured that nobody cares about Pearl Jam anymore, and that 'The Raven effect' is a cute WWE-style finisher name. Lame, but what can I tell you.
Guest dreamer420 Posted July 8, 2002 Report Posted July 8, 2002 it just another case of the wwf taking a perfectly fine move and changing the name of it to something lame to match the character using it.
