Guest MillenniumMan831 Posted July 8, 2002 Report Posted July 8, 2002 - Why did Vince turn Doink the Clown face? - What event turned Captain Lou Albano turn face during the Rock'n'Wrestling era? Damn can't remember the others I was gonna ask. Oh well.
Guest Frankie Williams Posted July 8, 2002 Report Posted July 8, 2002 Basically Doink was getting a HUGE face reaction as a heel. I was at many Monday Night Raws at the Manhatten Center and we popped like crazy for Doink. However turning Doink face was a mistake in my opinion. As for Lou Albano, he turned face at a record ceromony at MSG when Roddy Piper came out and smashed him over the head with a gold record.
Guest Kahran Ramsus Posted July 8, 2002 Report Posted July 8, 2002 Vince has this idea that if a heel starts getting face pops, he should turn him face. Usually, this means giving up all the things that people were cheering him for to begin with. It happens all the time. HHH is experiencing it as we speak.
Guest Your Olympic Hero Posted July 8, 2002 Report Posted July 8, 2002 Same thing happened with Kevin Nash as Diesel. People loved him as HBK's mammoth bodyguard. But when the WWF was supposed to "run on Diesel power", it broke down, so to speak.
Guest dreamer420 Posted July 9, 2002 Report Posted July 9, 2002 that's because the fans back then didn't want to cheer for who they were supposed to. it lead to austin getting over bigger than anyone before him and it lead to bret hart turning heel. people cheered for diesel because he was cool without having to kiss the fans asses.
