I thought Rock/Taker was the match of the night. Overbooked though. I found the opening nWo promo funny, as well as the nWo skits with SCSA & The Rock.

Yup, all the matches weren't any good, but Taker/Rock seemed to be better than all the rest.

No Way Out was an ok ppv.  Matches wise, it didn't deliver as greatly as it could've, but it served its purpose in bringing the NWO back.

ZZZzzzzZZZzzzz... nothing about the show was terribly awful, but the show reeked of laziness all around and didn't get me the least bit psyched about Wrestlemania, especially with the screwiness of the #1 contender's situation.  If Wrestlemania is going to have Angle vs Jericho and APA vs Tazz and Spike then I'll take a rain check.  RVD/Goldust was the only match that exceeded its expectations, therefore it gets my vote.

There was not a single match on that show I liked.  And the nWo debut seemed very anticlimactic.  If I have to pick, I'll go RVD-Goldust.  But that was a real disappointing PPV.  Boring matches. Lotsa bad booking.

I ddin't like any of the matches partly due to booking, but Jericho/Austin was the best wrestled match of the night at **3/4 with the finish and all the poor booking. I might give Angle/HHH **1/4, Rock/Undertaker **, RVD/Goldust *3/4. Something around those on first view.

Holy crap, RVD had the match of the night (thanks to Golddust). Dustin doing the slingshot into the back submission was cool. Proved one thing though, RVD is no Manami Toyota (who can actually *stay* in the hold without falling out).

 

Austin vs Jericho started to develope well but it began to tank about half way through until it was unrepairable. I know most people probably didn't like the match because of the shitty crowd but the match wasn't that good from a quality standpoint anyway.

I enjoyed all of the PPV actually. A great main event, HHH-Angle was entertaining, as was Taker-Rock. Solid IC and Tag title matches, and Goldust carried RVD to a good match. Add the debut of the nWo and you've got a fab PPV. Thumbs up.

The first half of that Golddust/Rvd match was pretty horrible too. Until Dustin got tha pacing together, it was sucking pretty bad and then RVD negated the back.

I actually liked Rock/Taker, it thought it was pretty good. The Tag Tourmil was entertaining, and Goldust/RVD ruled.

I thought Goldust used to many rest-holds. That reverse chin-lock seemed to last forever. Kinda werid to know RVD/Goldust had one of the better matches.

 

I saw the HHH/Angle match again last night. And man, was I wrong. The match wasn't as good as I thought it was. Lots of ref bumps, Steph is a worse ref than Flair, overbooked as hell. I've finished my bitching.

You see, that's where these little things called opinions come in handy, y'know? You didn't like the PPV, that's cool, that's your opinion. I liked it, that's my opinion. We both agree that RVD-Goldust was good, so there's some middle ground there. Take care. =)

RVD vs. Goldust was the match of the night IMO.  The crowd was right into it, there were lots of near  falls, and the match was actually good.

Austin-Jericho was servicable. Cut ten minutes off and it would have been more entertaining.

 

Trips-Angle was horrid and the only bright spot is Kurt's belly-to-belly suplexes.

It seemed like SCSA/Jericho half-assed the match knowing the nWo run-in would happen. Their match should of been better than it was.

I hope they have big plans for tonight, because right now I think in general the people who ordered the show are not too excited about Wrestlemania.  Regal and Tazz/Spike are super lame champions, and, I was in IRC during the show last night, so I got the mark/semi-mark perspective, and let's just say they were not happy at the prospect of a Jericho/Angle main event at Wrestlemania.  Maybe even more disturbing than all of this is that there are no long feuds going on right now that are leading to a blowoff at Wrestlemania.  Obviously the NWO will have to sell the show but the undercard is going to have nothing going for it.

 

In this show, I thought all the NWO stuff was done well (overall not quite how I would've done it but it was still good), RVD dragged a better than expected match out of Goldust, and the tag team turmoil was decent.  Everything else was disappointing.  It's too bad because typically the February PPV has been a great build up show to Wrestlemania.

IRC stands for Internet Relay Chat.  It's just a huge chat system basically, you have thousands of people on a server chatting in various channels (chat rooms) and you join whatever channel interests you (I was in #wrestling and #WWF for example)

Ok, WWF4Life, how can you possibly say that Goldust got a good match out of RVD?  Did you actually WATCH the match?  Let's see, RVD gets offense....crowd is into it and excited.  Goldust gets offense (more like restholds)...crowd goes apathetic.  I too thought it was probably the best match last night, which isn't saying that much, and was probably the best Goldust match I have ever seen.

 

Think about it.  Could anyone feasibly have a truly awesome match with Goldust?

Well, when RVD was on offense at the beginning it was spot to spot and at the end he negated the back. Goldust carried the flow working over the back, even though the first half of his offensive was pretty horribly paced. If you're talking about crowd heat, well, duh RVD carried that. But I don't see how that was an awesome match. *3/4 or **. Austin and Jericho probably only got **3/4 or **1/2, and I thought that was the best match. Nothing was good, everything was just sort of around decent.

Yes, I did watch the match. And yes, I believe Goldust should get credit for it's quality. Why? Go and watch it. Goldust controlled the pace of the match, RVD provided the high spots. Reminds me of Jeff Hardy actually. Tell him to jump off a tall object, he'll do it no problem. Tell him to go out and *gasp* wrestle, he's completely clueless. Flip, flop, flip, flop. Watch Van Dam's matches in ECW. When he's in there with someone who can actually construct a decent match (ie Lynn, Storm) he has a good match. Put with someone who can't (Balls, Anton), he can't. RVD can't carry anyone. The reason he's received glowing reviews of his tenure in the WWF is because he's been put against the most talented guys (Angle, Austin, Jericho). Like I said, RVD needs someone to carry him through the match.
