Guest Trivia247 Report post Posted July 8, 2002 Like I said before I have limited Japanese material even more so of Misawa because I never could get NJPW or Noah tapes What I do have and have seen Bret Hart vs Tiger Mask II At the WWF/AJPW World tour 1990 And Misawa and Yoshinari Ogawa vs Alexander Otsuka and Shinya Hashimoto at Pro Wrestling Noah's 1-28-01 Event You all probably got more extensive Misawa material Just pick out your favorite moments. Guest Crippler15 Report post Posted July 8, 2002 Well Misawa is in all of my top 5 all japan matches of the 90's, but that doesn't mean he was the best worker in the match. Here are some of my favorites when I think Misawa was awesome. Jumbo vs Misawa 6/8/90 Jumbo vs Misawa 9/1/90 Misawa vs Taue {not a great match but Misawa was real good in it} sometime in early 1993 Misawa vs Kawada 6/3/94 better performance by Kawada but this isn't my favorite match based on one man. Misawa vs. Taue Champion Carnival finals 1995 Misawa/Akiyama vs. Taue/Kawada RWTL final 1996 once again Misawa isn't the best but the match just clicked. Misawa vs. Kobashi 1/20/97 I think Misawa's best performance of the decade. Also get all of the Misawa/Kobashi vs. Taue/Kawada excluding the 1995 final and the 1/24/95 hour long match but those matches are still good in my eyes just not up to the level of the other matches these 4 had. Misawa was a really great worker that I think gets derated a little bit by Kawada and Kobashi fans. Sure he sucked for the most part after 1997 but he got the most out of Taue of anybody and he was the leader of the company in its heyday.
Guest wolverine Report post Posted July 8, 2002 My favorite Misawa match is of course 12/6/96. I actually think he WAS the best worker in that match (and the world) at that point. All the usual suspects, but I also have to mention the Misawa-Taue 9/10/95. Fantastic match, maybe the best of Taue's singles career. You're right, he always got the most out of Taue.... Guest Crippler15 Report post Posted July 8, 2002 Yeah I really need to see the Sept 95 Taue match. That somehow seems like a less common tape among tape collectors though.
Guest Coffin Surfer Report post Posted July 8, 2002 I'am going to have to go with the 12/6/96 tag match. Misawa was the match. He was the central character, that the whole match was built around. It was also one of the very rare occasions that Misawa didn't mind looking weaker and inferior to his opponents. My fav. moment of the match was when Kawada was stomping him in the corner. Normally Misawa always came back, and fought his way out. But on that night Misawa didn't comeback, and just laid in the corner after taking the beating.
