Guest RavishingRickRudo Report post Posted July 9, 2002 No FAN, who has never been inside the wrestling business, knows more than a wrestler who eats, sleeps, breathes, and lives the business. It's that simple. This is just common sense. --------------- I dunno, Lance Storm says that some of the boys are the biggest marks around. Are you saying that Stacy Kiebler has a better wrestling mind than Dave Meltzer?
Guest TheSmarkzone Report post Posted July 9, 2002 I dunno, Lance Storm says that some of the boys are the biggest marks around. As in they aren't afraid to mark out and enjoy the product even though they are now inside the business and have been smartened up. What do you think wrestlers are? They are fans who eventually turn into wrestlers. Are you saying that Stacy Kiebler has a better wrestling mind than Dave Meltzer? Stacy Kiebler isn't a wrestler. She's T&A. But if she hangs around the business long enough, sure. There's some things that you can NEVER learn unless you are backstage 200+ days a year, watching how the machine works. Besides, I never once said "wrestling mind". There is a difference between having a good "wrestling mind" and being smart to the business. Gerwitz or Russo or whoever they have writing the TV this week may have a good "wrestling mind", but there is no way that they are as smart as somebody who has stepped inside a ring. Guest RavishingRickRudo Report post Posted July 9, 2002 I have often debated with various wrestlers (not Wwf, but rather those in the indies) about this very subject. They believe that simply because they have taken a bump in the ring that their opinion is automatically better than mine. I don't mean that being a wrestler is worthless when it comes to discussion, cause it obviously is not, however if I say that Bret vs. Austin WM 13 was better than Taker vs. Sid WM 13 and he disagrees, and I have support for my argument and all he has is 'well, you're not a wrestler so you can't know', then that is just silly! An informed opinion with well thought out arguments by a fan is still a informed opinion with well thought out arguments and should not be dismissed simply because he/she hasn't stepped in the ring. As for the Storm/DVD debate. A good worker puts on Good matches frequently, right? Now, by going by this model, whoever has the most 'good' matches would be the best worker, right? Of course other things must be considered, but generally those things are in the criteria of a 'good match'. This is the system the DVD boyz use, and it is debatable and subjective and that's the point. HOWEVER, to say that it is uneducated is ridiculous. A fan can have insight into wrestling without stepping foot in the ring. Now when it comes to rumours and shit, sure, a wrestler behind the scenes would know more that the internet fan, but that's not even debatable. Wait, how is Nash a wrestler and Stacy isn't? I mean, she uses the big foot choke of doom in the corner doesn't she? Hell, she has had better pinning sequences too! SHE CAN DO A FRIKKEN CART-WHEEL! Nash can barely run. Guest RavishingRickRudo Report post Posted July 9, 2002 Honestly, we can have every single wrestler come out and talk about all the shit the kliq did and Smarkzone will still dismiss it, so don't even bother. Fuck, being a mark is one thing, but being completely blind is another. I am a hogan mark. I love hogan, been that way for over a decade. I screamed my fucking lungs out at WM during his match vs. Rock. I support him, I defend his good matches and my being a fan of his. I am proud to be a hulkamaniac. I do not, however, say that Hogan was a gem behind the scenes in WCW. When I have Saturn saying that for the first couple of months in WCW Hogan called him 'Satellite', when I have a dozen other wrestlers saying that Hogan closed himself off in his own dressing room and never talked to a single one of them, when I have Raven saying that Hogan came into booking meetings and said that 'these guys can't draw' and pointed to a dozen or so guys, I am not going to say 'oh, they all could be lying', or 'they are all just bitter'. Nor will I let it sway my markdom, because I DON'T CARE if Hogan did all that shit, he was still a hero to me when I was 7 years old and he still is the fuckin man today. But I won't go around bitching about the internet lies and rumours and how they all hate hogan because he is popular and more over than benoit.

Guest Ram Report post Posted July 9, 2002 I like Nash, That said, I think TheSmarkzone is being a jackass. No offense, dude, but you're really coming off pretty badly. Plus, the whole "good smart mark" vs. "bad smart mark" kind of took a few points of credibility off your belt.
Guest Vern Gagne Report post Posted July 9, 2002 So Smarkzone if Nash wouldn't of gotten hurt, you think he should of been a main eventer. Despite being being a total disaster as Champion in both WCW and WWF. Never drawing, and playing a large role in WCW's downfall.
Guest thefrenchargel Report post Posted July 9, 2002 If Nash's leg got all gangrenous and fell off tomorrow, I wouldn't shed a tear. The guy's a millionaire, he ain't got shit to worry about, and his matches suck bloated ass unless they're with HBK or Bret Hart. The NWO can go to Space Flying Tiger Hell. Guest Mattdotcom Report post Posted July 9, 2002 - Obnoxious as hell on the mic. - Can't get over without Goldust. - Is totally, totally out-classed and looks bush league whenever they put him next to someone like The Rock. - Cannot break the **** match barrier. - Hasn't had a **** match since 1998 with Benoit. - Totally overrated by the Internet fans. Kevin Nash: - Obnoxious as hell on the mic. - Can't get over without Michaels. - Is totally, totally out-classed and looks bush league whenever they put him next to anyone. - Cannot break the **** match barrier. - Hasn't had a **** match since 1996 with his friend Shawn. - Totally overrated. PERIOD.
Guest TheSmarkzone Report post Posted July 9, 2002 Are you kidding me? Michaels is the one who isn't over. Nash is over.
Guest Nezbyte Report post Posted July 9, 2002 "That said, I think TheSmarkzone is being a jackass. No offense, dude, but you're really coming off pretty badly." Shit, it's the board that looks bad; They're laughing at a man's misfourtune and all SZ is doing is showing that they're wrong. AS or AIW contstantly comes off as a jackass, so it doesnt really matter.
Guest Prince Paul Report post Posted July 9, 2002 Okay, Smarkzone is the biggest tool in this thread, that much I can see. Why don't you go back to your more respectable boards and shill your bullshit smart wear there. World famous smark shirt. Jackass. I guess Booker T isn't over. I guess despite losing almost every match he's been in, the fans are still popping, but nope, Book's not over. And don't use the word Jigga, if you don't know how you're using it. Go sell your video tapes.
Guest Human Fly Report post Posted July 9, 2002 I tried this in the other thread but got nothing, so I'll try it here as well. Nash in two matches and a total ring time of 3 minutes tore his bicep and then tore his quad. That's two major muscle tears in a freakishly short amount of time. This smacks of something and it's not Karma, Nash being old, or him sucking, or anything else that has been mentioned here. I'm just wondering if anybody else has thought of this as well. Guest RavishingRickRudo Report post Posted July 10, 2002 I like Nashs' promos... I like Nash in a WheelChair... I don't like Nash in the Ring... I can't see a problem with Nash being injured... I mean, he will get through the pain and still get his $800 000 for just talking, so I can't see his problem with it either.
Guest The Mighty Damaramu Report post Posted July 10, 2002 I am seriously considering leaving the Internet wrestling community ala Chris Jericho. You so-called "smart marks" are ruining it for the real fans. What's a real fan? Someone that enjoys everything even if it totally sucks? Sorry I'm a real wrestling fan. I enjoy to see a good wrestling match. When I see somebody out there throwing punches for 20 minutes then I get bored. But wait because I don't mark out for Nash I'm not a real wrestling fan? Because I don't enjoy every single aspect? Well you don't like Booker T. so you aren't a real fan either. When you post with a name like "Angle is Wrestling", that shows how much you know about the business. Nada. I know quite a bit about the business, but I don't stick my chest out and call myself a "smart mark", and I don't only cheer for wrestlers under 6" who mat wrestle. Who cares what the fuck his name is? Just because he has a name on a MB means he knows nothing about wrestling? And I don't see anyone here sticking there chest out and proclaiming to be a smart mark. But if they are the least bit negative then they must be a smart mark. So you don't cheer for people who are under 6" and mat wrestle and that makes you a real fan and makes us not a real fan? So what? Benoit and Jericho aren't real wrestlers or something? Your talking out your ass here. When I logged onto this board tonight, I expected to see some sympathy for Kevin Nash. Instead, all I see is a bunch of 15-year-old virgins talking tough over the Internet and making light of something that...well, sucks. I'm done arguing with you people over the seriousness of Nash's injury because it's obvious that the only thing that matters to you pricks is Booker T and Kurt Angle's pushes. Oh wait if you're 15 and still a virgin is that a bad thing? Oh right because all 15 year olds are supposed to be running around having sex? What if someone wants to wait until there married? I'm 17 and still a virgin. And it's not because I sit on the computer all day. My best friend is a girl....I just don't want to have sex until I'm married. Besides when did being a virgin become this big insult? Oh right....you're extremely immature...that's why it's an insult to you. And Nash's injury is done. I don't care anymore. Booker T and Angle's pushes are ongoing....so I still care. Personally? I think it's jealousy. Jealousy that all Kevin Nash has to do is his six moves of doom to get a main eventer pop, while Booker T has been feeding off of Goldust's antics for months and still can only get a mid-card pop. Umm...that's right I'm jealous of Kevin Nash. I wish I could walk around with bad knees and make stupid jokes. Seriously what's with this insult to? Anytime you don't like someone famous you're automatically accused of being jealous? WTF is that? Can you just not like somebody? More immaturity. None of us were backstage in the WWF or WCW from 1993-2000 to witness all of these "heinous political crimes" that Nash allegedly committed, so just shut the fuck up. For all we know, a lot of those stories were fabrications created by jealous wrestlers. You are not inside the business, you don't know Kevin Nash or the Kliq personally, so just SHUT THE FUCK UP. Wow and like someone said. None of us were in WWII so you can't say if anything happened one way or another because you weren't there and didn't see it. All we have is somebody's word to go off of. Your starting to sound like those people that run around and say that the holocaust never happened. And you don't know any of us personally so how about you SHUT THE FUCK UP.
