Guest Some Guy Posted February 18, 2002 Report Posted February 18, 2002 It started I think when Benoit started to feud with all the ME stars. He would chop them and they would retaliate. But then Austin, Angle, Rock, Y2J (he didn't chop that much until 2000) all started to use them as a big part of their matches. Seems to me that they use them for cheap heat in their mayches (Whoo!) and it gets very annoying. The SCSA/Y2J match had like 50 chops in it alone last night.
Guest Tony149 Posted February 18, 2002 Report Posted February 18, 2002 The chops are probably used for the cheap heat. Especially if a match has no crowd heat, the wrestler would throw a chop. Only Ric Flair can chop away. Since it's one of his trademark spots.
Guest jama Posted February 18, 2002 Report Posted February 18, 2002 some guy your right i saw its transformation. I'm a big benoit fan and i knew this would happen. It all started with austin, benoit chop him then he started retuning it, then i realized that he added to his matches. Then angle, then the rock, hhh etc. Also watch jericho matches he steals alot of benoit moves, small ones but he steals them anyway.
Guest dreamer420 Posted February 18, 2002 Report Posted February 18, 2002 I loved it last night. Austin and Jericho chopped the shit out of each others chests last night. It reminded me of when Flair was chopping Russo down and made his chest bruise and bleed.
Guest Brian Posted February 18, 2002 Report Posted February 18, 2002 Chops are stiffer looking than punches. It's that easy.
Guest AM The Kid Posted February 18, 2002 Report Posted February 18, 2002 Is it just me or are there too many damn MULTIPLE GERMAN SUPLEXES in the WWF?
Guest Redhawk Posted February 18, 2002 Report Posted February 18, 2002 I was "watching" the main event last night on PPV scramble (it's like the radio). I swear one time I changed the channel while someone was getting chopped and I turned back a minute later and they're STILL chopping!
Guest Tony149 Posted February 18, 2002 Report Posted February 18, 2002 There were a lot of chops by Jericho & Austin last night. They may have gone 30 seconds of nothing but chops.
Guest J Boutier Posted February 18, 2002 Report Posted February 18, 2002 'Jericho steals all of Benoits small moves' yeah, snap suplexes, punches, kicks, chops, scoop slams...headlocks... sleepers... Ever noticed the way Benoit enters the ring? Jericho does exactly the same! Up to the ring apron, and through the ropes! And hey, now I think of it, Benoit was Canadian... And now Jericho is! Somebody please call the Smarkops, we've got a plagurist on the loose!
Guest AM The Kid Posted February 18, 2002 Report Posted February 18, 2002 I'm surpised Angle wasn't in the match bwahahaha!
Guest J Boutier Posted February 19, 2002 Report Posted February 19, 2002 The WWF encourages a 'stiff wrasslin' style. If you're going to throw stiff arms at someone you're better off doing chops than punches. Stands to reason.
Guest Brian Posted February 19, 2002 Report Posted February 19, 2002 "The WWF encourages a 'stiff wrasslin' style." If anything, they discourage. Look at how limited Regal is and how much trouble RVD got in.
