Guest ravman77 Report post Posted July 9, 2002 Got a few, but looking for what are considered the 'best' ECW PPV's and tapings. Any recommendations gratefully received!
Guest HBK16 Report post Posted July 9, 2002 The best has to be their first PPV Barely Legal. The opening match is awesome, the M-Pro 6 man is awesome, and the main event is awesome.
Guest EC F'N W Report post Posted July 9, 2002 The newest one i've bought (in the UK) was Hardcore Heaven 2000 and it's pretty f'n sweet! Balls/Tanaka, Tajiri/Corino, Sandman/Rhino, RVD/Lynn are some of my faves from that one.
Guest CoreyLazarus416 Report post Posted July 9, 2002 Heat Wave 1998 is widely recognized as their best PPV, as I don't think a single match drops below ***1/2 (Credible vs. Lynn was a good opener, and I'd stick it in ***1/2), even RVD/Sabu vs. Jinsei/Hayabusa. Anarchy Rulz 1999 is also another good one. Hell, just avoid WrestlePalooza 1998 and you'll do fine.
Guest HBK16 Report post Posted July 9, 2002 Which PPV was the one where Mike Awesome faced Masato Tanaka for the Heavyweight Title? That match is just worth getting the PPV.
Guest Lord of The Curry Report post Posted July 9, 2002 Anarchy Rulz hands down is the best ECW PPV I've ever seen. - Lynn vs Storm - Super Crazy vs Tajiri vs Guido - Raven and Dreamer vs Rhino and Corino - Tazz vs Awesome vs Tanaka - Credible vs Sabu - Ballz vs RVD (much better then you'd think) - New Jack's assorted hardcore insanity I find Barely Legal to be supremely overrated, the M-Pro 6 man rules the world and Tazz vs Sabu is decent but the main event goes about 10 minutes too long and Raven/Funk is barely even a match. Get the thing though for the M-Pro 6 man, historical value and Tommy Dreamers commentary during the ME.
Guest Lord of The Curry Report post Posted July 9, 2002 Don't bother getting any ECW PPVs, just get their Best Of stuff now that I think about it. Path of Destruction and Hardcore History are probably the best ones. Hardcore History has one of the best tag matches I've ever seen in Raven/Richards vs Pitbulls Double Dog Collar, 2/3 falls. And a lot of people over look the Eliminators vs. Dudley's match which I think is one of the best on the tape.
Guest HartFan86 Report post Posted July 9, 2002 Get the Path of Desruction (sp) which has like the best of everything (especially on DVD).

Guest 4Life Report post Posted July 12, 2002 The best has to be their first PPV Barely Legal. The opening match is awesome, the M-Pro 6 man is awesome, and the main event is awesome. What?????????!!!!! Barely Legal sucked. Aside from Taka Michinoku and Great Sasuke's action in that 6 man tag match it was just crap. Lance Strom and RVD had the worst match on that PPV in my opinion. Have you ever seen weaker looking chairshots?

Guest TheHulkster Report post Posted July 12, 2002 I can't believe nobody said Guilty As Charged 2001. It was their last PPV and had 3 really good matches.
Guest thefrenchargel Report post Posted July 12, 2002 screw their PPV's, get some of their 95 stuff. November to Remember 95 had a 2/3 falls Rey/Psicosis match, any of the shows with an Eddy/Dean match or a Rey/Psicosis match are pretty much worth the price right there. If someone tries to con you into buying the show with that piece of shit overbooked crapfest of Pitbulls vs. Raven and Richards by saying it's *****, tell 'em to stick it and buy crack with your money instead, you'll get more satisfaction. I can't remember which show it was, but there's a six man tag between Foley/Scorpio/Malenko vs. Steiners/Guerrero that rules it. Cactus Jack vs. Mikey Whipwreck rocks too. Everything else is pretty much hit or miss, depending on your tastes.
Guest Trivia247 Report post Posted July 12, 2002 I Agree with above.. Don't need to restrict yourself to just PPV's any of the ECW Home video collection is good... suggestions ECW Double tables 95 Enter Sandman Return of the Funker Gangstaz Paradise Heatwave 94 Hostile City Takeover 96 Massacre At Queens BLVD 96 Big Ass Extreme Bash 96 (Mic Foley's Official Last match and farewell to ECW) a whole hoard of others
Guest CoreyLazarus416 Report post Posted July 12, 2002 I agree with recommending Double Tables. Even the garbage main-event, Public Enemy vs. Sabu/Tazmaniac, is enjoyable. And it also features, in my opinion, Benoit's greatest promo ever.
