Guest Trivia247 Report post Posted July 9, 2002 you notice from the first match to the last match Raw was all centered on Booker T, Spike, Bubba, Goldust, the nWo and Benoit, and Guerrero They all had about 2 matches (Not counting the nWo) plus a mess of run ins. geez doesn't Raw have any other wrestlers? I know there was matches in between, but Booker T Benoit, Guerrero, Bubba wrestled double duty geez.
Guest Shaved Bear Report post Posted July 9, 2002 when you think about it...if someone said off the top of my head to name all male wrestlers on Raw that werent in the Main yesterday, id probably come up with like 5 or 6 only
Guest El Psycho Diablo Report post Posted July 9, 2002 They need to either trade some guys in from Smackdown..(Trade Bradshaw off for a Smackdown guy. That way they can reunite the APA, stick them in the worthless tag division, and have somebody else on Raw)..or move up some of the developental talent, or SOMETHING. Guest Masked Heel Report post Posted July 9, 2002 Your missing the point the fact that Raw was centered around Eddie Beniot Booker The New Dudley's RVD and Brock thats called elevating new talent or at least a half hearted attempt to do so i'd rather see those guys wrestle every match of the night than see a HHH promo for 20 minutes or a slow ass Undertaker squashing jobbers fest
Guest Fook_Hing_Ho Report post Posted July 9, 2002 If the point was to elevate them, why did they job at the end?
Guest Zack Malibu Report post Posted July 9, 2002 I agree that the RAW roster is weak, but last night could be interpreted as "baby steps" into building these guys into mainstream stars. RVD is pretty much there. Brock, whether we want him to be or not, will be there. Benoit and Eddy deserve to be there, as does Booker. Goldust, I know he's more over now than maybe ever, but I'll be surprised if he even makes it to "upper midcard". I don't see the point in a Bubba Ray singles push, or a Spike push for that matter. Wrestling twice on the same show could be taken both ways. We know the roster is weak, but we shouldn't complain, since most of us are fans of these guys (Booker, Benoit and the like). With O'Haire, Johnny The Bull and Victoria on Heat, I don't think it's a matter of moving more up from OVW yet, but maybe give RAW a few "name value" guys, who are at least recognizable to the casual fan. Then you can build up the rest of the roster with meaningul feuds, rather than Steven Richards vs. Ric Flair.
Guest Masked Heel Report post Posted July 9, 2002 Probably cuz Nash and X-pac complained again i'm not sure u'd have to talk to Vince but would you rather see matches with them of a X-pac match a Big Show match a Nash match and a Shawn promo instead? Guest GenerationNever Report post Posted July 9, 2002 What they need to do is fire some of the crap and bring in some younger talent.

Guest Zack Malibu Report post Posted July 9, 2002 What they need to do is fire some of the crap and bring in some younger talent. I agree with you, GN, but I don't think it's fair to either the audience or the young talent to bring them up all at once. It would be like the "New Generation" all over again, where new characters debuted at least once a week, making debuts and run-ins stale, and no "shock value" as to who was going to show up next. Plus, the WWE already has a stale midcard, only starting to show promise with the evolution of Team Canada, the cruiserweights, etc. Bringing up a bunch of OVW guys at once, only to half heartedly push some of them and focusing on one or two of the bunch would leave guys in the same position as Val Venis, or The Holly's. Recognizable faces, but stale/bland characters than can never recover.
Guest RetroRob215 Report post Posted July 10, 2002 When it comes to Raw RVD, Booker, Goldust, Benoit, Eddy and the nWo are the main eventers. There is no one else to put on top of the show besides Flair who doesn't even want to wrestle in the first place. I wouldn't really call it elevating the mid-carders because since Steve Austin left, those guys have consistently been the Raw main eventers.
