I enjoyed it. I had been waiting for it for a while, and wasn't dissappointed. What did the rest of you think?

I never read the book, but the movie certainly didn't disappoint me. I didn't think Matt Damon could pull off an action role, however, he seemed fine in the role. Julia Stiles seemed wasted in her role, as most people don't even know she's in the movie. I hear that this is the first of a trilogy, so hopefully the other two are just as good. I marked out for seeing Oz's Adebisi in the film & Chris Cooper of American Beauty fame is always a good heel.

The ending bothered me a little because the last stunt that Damon uses really doesn't seem plausible. Other than that, thumbs up.

1.)Good action movie. Nothing more, nothing less.

2.)Kudos to whomever decided to cast Franke Potnte as the love interest. Better her than the usual actresses they get to fill that role.

3.) Chris Cooper always plays the bad guy well. Although it's frustrating to see typecast as a villian. He was great as the good guy in "Lone Star", one of my favorite movies.

4.) Did anyone else find it weird that Bourne tells her that he'll sleep on the floor of the hotel room and lets her have the bed, after they've already had sex. Why don't they just sleep together?

p.s. - Thanks to areacode212 for complimenting my taste in DVD's in the DVD collection thread.

I enjoyed it. Matt Damon did a great job, and I liked the cold look of the film. It will be interesting to see what the sequel(s) will be like.

I agree with Dames on the stunt at the end. It was poorly done and you could tell it was CGI. It didn't ruin the movie or anything though. The first fight scene in the apartment was great.

Didn't Mr. Cooper play a good guy in The Patriot? I know he was it in, but I can't remember if he was strictly good or if he had his usual creepy edge.

As for The Bourne Identity, I thought it was a pretty decent movie, certainly better than the standard action fare we get in the summer, and it never tried to be anything more than what it was. The film knew its place. I like that.

I really hope Franka Potente gets more mainstream roles. She was great in this, excellent in Blow, and was just awesome in The Princess and the Warrior. And to think that she didn't even do her own dubbing in Run Lola Run.

The only thing about the movie that I didn't particularly enjoy was the fact that he was able to just slip away so easily. That because Mr. Abbott was having a congressional review of his projects, he was more than happy to let this loose end dangle free. It seemed like a cheap way to let Bourne get away and have his life with the girl. It seemed contrived.

Other than that, I enjoyed everything about it.

It was a great 'made to rent' movie. But once it clicked in that this was just a rip off of 'The Last Kiss Goodnight' and 'The Replacement Killers' and had no Samuel L Jackson or Chow Yun Fat I didn't enjoy it enough to recommend theatre watching.

Didn't like Lola in this, but I am a big fan of Damon, his performance in Rounders did it for me.

Any film that makes me say "BEEITCH!" in a crowded room is good (the embassy scene where he kicks some ass while trying to leave)

I didn't think Damon could do a spy role, but I'm happy to say he proved me wrong.

Good movie.
