Guest EI Cubano Report post Posted July 10, 2002 Well, the final episode of the Real World Chicago aired tonight and I must say that although I never thought season two and three could be matched, this season blew them both away in terms of cast and overall entertainment. Anyone know any of the details behind the mysterious "lost season" of the Real World they are hyping for later this year? I guess it was filmed in Vancouver in between RW New Orleans and RW New York but never aired.
Guest TheDames7 Report post Posted July 10, 2002 What happened in the final episode? In all honesty, I really didn't like this season. There wasn't one person on this years cast that I found likeable whatsoever and the 13 or so City High "What would you do" remixes did nothing but reinforce my disdain for this season. Also, I've always thought that the show should be an hour because it seems like The Real World just goes on forever. What is it, like 22 episodes or so? Guest Black Lushus Report post Posted July 10, 2002 yeah I wasn't too impressed with this cast...Teck from Hawaii was the best ever next to Puck, by the way...I dunno, I dug the Seattle season, the Hawaii season and the latest NY season, presonally... Guest pinnacleofallthingsmanly Report post Posted July 10, 2002 This was one of the better seasons in my opinion, but this is also the only seasono that I have seen in its entirety. The final episode wasn't any big deal. I can't remember the names off the top of my head but the skinny girl (Cara?) invited everyone to go out to the place where they went during their first evening out and she was going to sing a song she wrote for her roommates. Chris and Tanya decided that they would rather workout than attend the performance, which got the skinny girl a little upset. They joined everybody else for dinner later, where Chris apologized but Tanya felt that she was right. There was a small argument at their table because Cara wanted Tanya to switch seats with Aneesa because she didn't like her, but Tanya wouldn't move. After that, it was a bunch of hugging, crying and goodbyes to end the show. I found the City High songs to be very irritating and I thought they epitomized selling out. It seemed like they didn't want to sing the songs or eb there filming that crap. What did you guys think about the season in retrospect? NObody was really talking about the season, but I'm interested to hear what you guys think about what happened. I would share my thoughts, but I can't remember anyone's name right now. Guest TheDames7 Report post Posted July 10, 2002 This season didn't really have too many story archs like RW's usually do. Tanya didn't like Aneesa & Theo, and Kyle & Lori didn't hook up. This season really didnt do anything for me and like I've said before, the show just has too many episodes per season. I enjoyed Battle of the Seasons a hell of a lot more. As for City High, the epitome of selling out was their appearance on TRL a few months back, where they performed "What would you do" to a teen-bopper crowd who were happily cheering & singing a song about a struggling mother and a starving child. When one of the males in the group adlibbed "Yo, he's hungry ya'll" while trying to get the crowd fired up, I was disgusted. Dames

Guest phoenixrising Report post Posted July 10, 2002 Yeah, the City High commercials sucked ass. I would start switching channels for thirty seconds waiting for the commercial to end. This season was all right. That's about the only way I could sum it up. It was there.
Guest Spaceman Spiff Report post Posted July 10, 2002 Call me "old skool", but I liked Season 1 the best, followed by Hawaii, London, & NY2. My least favorites were Los Angeles & SF.
Guest Zack Malibu Report post Posted July 10, 2002 Loved Real World Hawaii. Colin was hilarious and I though Amaya was hot. I honestly didn't see much, if any, of this past season though. New Orleans was OK, but I only saw the earlier eps, and missed the last half of that season.
Guest AlwaysPissedOff Report post Posted July 10, 2002 Damn, someone actually LIKED the London season? I couldn't even sit through three episodes because they were so boring. As as the Chicago season goes, it was dull. I didn't give a damn about any of the characters, the issues brought were so cookie-cutter that I basically called how the season was gonna go without actually watching half the damn season, and City High pissed me off. Why should I have given a flying fuck about what THEY thought of the damn show anyway?
Guest TheDames7 Report post Posted July 10, 2002 Loved Real World Hawaii. Colin was hilarious and I though Amaya was hot. That was definitely my favorite. I couldn't stand Ruthie, so she was a natural heel for me. The Colin-Amaya relationship was just so damn....interesting. I dont know. I liked Colin coming in because of the fact he was a "reject" and Amaya has always been hot to me. Dames
Guest pinnacleofallthingsmanly Report post Posted July 10, 2002 I think there were situations that were hyped, but didn't live up to expectations. Theo telling off Tanya was somethingthat I wanted to see because I wanted to tell off Tanya myself. The argument was anticlimactic because everyone sat around and told Theo that he was being a baby. In my opinion, Tanya was a manipulator who tried manipulating her roommates, her boyfriend and even the viewers. Even though she was really sick, I think there were times when Tanya was using her sickness as an excuse and a crutch. Everyone discussed it while she wasn't around, but nobody would say anything when Theo brought it up. Theo was saying that she was using her sickness as an excuse to stay home with her boyfriend while everyone else went to Boston, which I think was an accurate assesment. When they were in Boston, Tanya and her boyfriend had their little romantic weekend together in the house. I tired of her crying in the confessional booth and her crying all of the damn time. She can dish shit out but can't take it. They then talked about how Tanya's boyfriend was going to set Theo straight for arguing with Tanya, but that was anticlimactic as well. Tanya's boyfriend acted like he was going to set Theo straight, but he acted like he didn't want to say what he had to say. There were a lot of times where Tanya deserved to be called out on things, but she never was. They acted like she would be, but they it never happened. Guest Black Lushus Report post Posted July 10, 2002 who all thought Justin (tanya's boyfriend) would have took Theo had they gone to blows? he's a pretty big guy, but I think Theo would have put him down...
Guest AlwaysPissedOff Report post Posted July 10, 2002 He may have been big, but he looked kinda shook when during the confrontation with Theo. Justin probably would have gotten his ass kicked.
Guest SuperTonyJaymz Report post Posted July 10, 2002 all Tanya did the whole season was cry, talk on the phone, and make fights. She was the heel this year. My fav is NY2. Don't know why, just liked it more. I liked how Coral/Mike "fueded" the whole seaon, then battle of the seasons comes and they best buds. Face turns rule! Guest MrRant Report post Posted July 11, 2002 Damn, MTV is still doing this? Please tell me that at least Road Rules is dead. The more important question should be... Are people still watching this shit? I mean I enjoyed it when it first came out... but its gotten so tired its like watching the same people over and over. Guest NoCalMike Report post Posted July 12, 2002 First off I think I am the only Real World fan that hated the Hawaii season. Secondly, after watching the Chicago season, I am not sure why Tanya even wanted to be on The Real World, she never left Wala Wala, all she did was complain how she hated it there and wanted to go back home. I wonder if she almost left, but then was talked into staying or something.

Guest NoCalMike Report post Posted July 12, 2002 I think the Real World has lost the effect of being, "Real" I think the best season 1 if for no other reason than the fact they DID NOT KNOW what they were getting into to. Like Eric Neis(sp?) said, they were just given keys to the loft, and told to show up. Every other cast knew exactly what the real world was, so they had ample time to make themselves look fake for the camera, ala Melissa from Miami. Now, this is not to say, REAL emotions didn't come out on TV, but it seems like too many people hold shit back, or there is just too much editing to create or de-fuse drama in certain situations. The Puck eviction was crap, since no one should be EVER kicked out of the house due to not "being liked" yet Stephen in Seattle hits a girl, but the roomates choose to keep him there. Anyways I have had ample real world debates in the past and will continue when issues are brought up....TV Junkie I am~!
Guest kingkamala Report post Posted July 12, 2002 My favorite Real World season is Seattle don't know why I just liked it, although almost no one on there was remotely likeable I thought it had some good fights and had plenty of entertaining episodes. No wait scratch that Seattle is tied with Hawaii, I loved that season almost every episode was entertaining. This season of Real World ehh some were good and some (The September 11th one being the biggest example) were sappy.
Guest pinnacleofallthingsmanly Report post Posted July 12, 2002 I didn't start watching the Real World until the New Orleans one. I caught some episodes of Hawaii and the season with Puck, but I didn't New Orleans is the first season that I saw a lot of episodes of.
Guest kkktookmybabyaway Report post Posted July 13, 2002 I remember watching the Real World one (was it the second one?) with the Cowboy virgin and comic "rapist," but the one after that seemed to be a bunch of Pedro (R.I.P.) with AIDS infomercials. Too bad Judd still graces the world with his presence. Wasn't there one Real World (my friend told me about this years ago; I'm not sure if she's right or not) where they had to start a business, and nobody did anything and it went down the tubes? Guest Spaceman Spiff Report post Posted July 13, 2002 The "cowboy virgin" season was #2. In Los Angeles, I believe. The "start a business" season was in Miami. I think it was maybe season 5.

The first Real World you're referring to was the second season, based in LA. And the Real World where they had to start their own business was Miami (I forget which season # this was, I'm thinking 5). The group brought in business consultants and everything, but they never got the thing started. Anyway, I haven't watched the RW regularly since Hawaii. I saw bits and pieces from the other seasons since, but nothing really caught my attention.

Guest Nevermortal Report post Posted July 13, 2002 Miami & San Francisco were the best seasons, followed by Seattle. Nate & David kick ass, and the Steven-Irene pimp-slap is forever etched into my memory.

Guest brokentusk16 Report post Posted July 14, 2002 I only watched this season for the hot chicks (except that Aneesa girl, ugh!!!). But I think this year had the best hotties, hands down.
Guest pinnacleofallthingsmanly Report post Posted July 14, 2002 I don't know about all of that man. Cara has a pretty face, but she's too skinny for my tastes. Aneesa never really was attractive to me and watching her shit only reinforced that for me. Tanya looked decent sometimes in the beginning, but I never really liked her. Later in the show, I was quite sick of her. The other girl's buck teeth didn't look that great to me and her "ghetto booty" was a figment of her imagination. She also seemed lke a dork sometimes too, but everybody can't be cool all the time. I never really watched Real World, so I don't know who to compare them to for validating your statement.
