Guest RetroRob215 Posted July 11, 2002 Report Posted July 11, 2002 I admit it, I watched it tonight just to see if it was as different as CBS promised. I sporadically watched the show during it's first season and like two episodes last year. Overall it looks like the same ol' shit. The only difference is the house guests are all each others throats by the third and fourth episode according to the previews. Also that annoying bitch Julie Chen is back. The one good thing the show has going for it is that it is airing against all reruns, so I might end up watching it out of boredom. Anyone else watch it or have any opinions?
Guest EQ Posted July 11, 2002 Report Posted July 11, 2002 I watched some of the first show... I thought it was horrible... especially when compared to Survivor (at the time)
Guest treble charged Posted July 11, 2002 Report Posted July 11, 2002 I guess I'm in the minority, but I liked the first one more than the 2nd season. Sure, it got boring at times, but it was a lot less "gimmicked" than last year's version.
Guest Shaved Bear Posted July 11, 2002 Report Posted July 11, 2002 a society where we watch people living in a house on TV, as we do the exact same thing, kinda depressing
Guest Kingpk Posted July 11, 2002 Report Posted July 11, 2002 There's a Big Brother 3? Why don't they show the roomates taking showers and changing like they do in other countries?
Guest phoenixrising Posted July 11, 2002 Report Posted July 11, 2002 Why don't they show the roomates taking showers and changing like they do in other countries? Because this is America, land of the free and home of the television censors who know what is right and what is wrong for you to see. The Internet feeds might have them though. Check the CBS website. Anyway, I only watched the first one. It was cool that all the house guests buddied up, but it was boring too. So boring that the producers started doing stuff toward the end to spice ratings up (ex. bringing back a thrown off member, encourage her to talk trash about one person, then let the two people meet - no cat fight resulted, which must have been disappointing for the producers).
Guest Kahran Ramsus Posted July 11, 2002 Report Posted July 11, 2002 Reality TV doesn't blow. It is the same as any other type of show. Some suck (Big Brother, Temptation Island, etc.), some don't (Mole, Amazing Race, etc.).
Guest starvenger Posted July 11, 2002 Report Posted July 11, 2002 Yeah, I'm really pumped for Amazing Race 3, when it starts airing.
Guest C.H.U.D. Posted July 11, 2002 Report Posted July 11, 2002 The only reality TV show I have any remote interest in is Amazing Race, but I only watched a couple of episodes of season 2. I still thinks it's a fad, and eventually it will die off when people lose interest.
Guest Marshall Posted July 11, 2002 Report Posted July 11, 2002 Its wierd how peoples taste differ in different countries. In the UK, NOBODY watched the amazing race or the mole. But Big Brother is HUGE and everyone watches it. nobody gives a shit about all the other reality tv. BTY we dont get to see nudity, 'sept when Jade striped down to her fat bare ass. but look how ugly jade is:
Guest Jerome Drake Posted July 11, 2002 Report Posted July 11, 2002 I watched some of the 1st Big Brother, where that crazy black man was on. He owned, to bad the stupid fucks voted him off the 1st week.
Guest The Electrifyer Posted July 11, 2002 Report Posted July 11, 2002 I watched last season's Big Brother and it was kind of enjoyable. The first season sucked though. When I watched yesterday's episode, I completely lost interest of Big Brother. The only thing that I enjoyed were a couple of the girls who were HOT!!! I wish that the live Big Brother feed was free this time, so if I was bored, I could just tune into that. And like a couple of you guys said, Amazing Race rules!! I can't wait till the 3rd one. Amazing Race and The Mole are the only reality shows I enjoy. Murder in Small Town X and Lost were pretty good too, but they don't air them anymore.
Guest dreamer420 Posted July 11, 2002 Report Posted July 11, 2002 i also watch some of the first big brother but didn't really get into it because I had been watching Survivor back at the time and it was just an inferrior show. it still had it's moments from the shows i saw but all these shows are now is launch pads for crappy talents to try and make it. kind of like tough enough.

I found that odd as well, but aren't AR and Mole imported? >And like a couple of you guys said, Amazing Race rules!! I can't wait till the 3rd one. Amazing Race and The Mole are the only reality shows I enjoy. Murder in Small Town X and Lost were pretty good too, but they don't air them anymore. MiSTX was a great concept, but it was, frankly, rather crude in that they were putting together scenarios at the last minute and there's the unfortunate coincidence of the winner dying trying to rescue people during 9/11. Eco-Challenge is pretty cool as well, but frankly, those people are just fucking nuts - and that includes the Playboy Extreme Team.
Guest Kahran Ramsus Posted July 11, 2002 Report Posted July 11, 2002 I wouldn't consider Eco-Challenge a reality show. That has more to do with sports. Junkyard Wars is good too, but I am not sure what category it belongs too.
Guest AM The Kid Posted July 11, 2002 Report Posted July 11, 2002 I watched both two seasons of Big Brother and I loved it. I will be watching Big Brother 3.
Guest evenflowDDT Posted July 12, 2002 Report Posted July 12, 2002 I never got into Big Brother or reality TV in general (even the "good ones"), so this news doesn't please me at all... but isn't this upcoming season of "Survivor" supposed to be the last? Hopefully so, and the rest will die shortly after or be demoted to syndication on late-night and Saturday afternoon TV.
Guest RetroRob215 Posted July 12, 2002 Report Posted July 12, 2002 I watched some of the 1st Big Brother, where that crazy black man was on. He owned, to bad the stupid fucks voted him off the 1st week. It looks like the token black house guest will be the first voted off this time too.
Guest Kahran Ramsus Posted July 12, 2002 Report Posted July 12, 2002 No, this is not supposed to be the last Survivor. Survivor 6 is supposed to be an all-star edition made up of castaways from the first 5 shows.
