Guest Youth N Asia Posted February 18, 2002 Report Posted February 18, 2002 Let's look back kiddies... ***** 1997 Royal Rumble Winner -Steve Austin 1997 Wrestlemania main event -Undertaker vs Sid © ***** 1999 Royal Rumble winner -Vince Mcmahon 1999 Wrestlemania main event -Austin vs Rock © ***** 2000 Royal Rumble winner -Big Show (he did win actually) 2000 Wrestlemania main event -Mick Foley vs Big Show vs Rock vs HHH © ***** 2002 Royal Rumble winner -HHH 2002 Wrestlemania main event AS OF NOW -Angle vs Jericho © So...what does winning the Royal Rumble mean anymore? out of the last 6 Royal Rumbles the match that was suppose to happen only really happened two times. Title shots should not be on the line at Feb ppvs...the title should though. The Rumble is suppose to be a sure thing that the person will go to Wrestlemania in the title match. So...judging that 3 of the last 5 Wrestlemania main events didn't go down as they were suppose to...does the Rumble mean ANYTHING?
Guest Tony149 Posted February 18, 2002 Report Posted February 18, 2002 I think the WWF should drop the "Winner gets WWF Title shot at WM" for the Rumble match. Winners end up putting their shot on the line, and it's predictable who will win. Since you could only 5 guys winning.

Sure it isn't a 1 on 1 match, but TBS still got his promised title shot 02 - still provisional, so see how it plays out...
