Guest Spaceman Spiff Posted July 11, 2002 Report Posted July 11, 2002 What do you call it? Also, put down where you are from. I think it would be interesting to see what areas call it what.
Guest areacode212 Posted July 11, 2002 Report Posted July 11, 2002 I was hoping someone would revive this ezboard topic. Soda! (I live in NYC)
Guest redbaron51 Posted July 11, 2002 Report Posted July 11, 2002 Artifically Sweetend Carbonated Beverage (Canada)
Guest chirs3 Posted July 11, 2002 Report Posted July 11, 2002 I call everything Coke. If I'm getting a Dr. Pepper, I say "I'm gonna go get a coke." Stupid Coca-cola... I've been brain-washed!
Guest Spaceman Spiff Posted July 11, 2002 Report Posted July 11, 2002 Oh, yeah, I voted for soda. I live near Philly.
Guest starvenger Posted July 11, 2002 Report Posted July 11, 2002 Despite what you heard from Edge and Christian, we call it pop in Canada.

Guest AM The Kid Posted July 11, 2002 Report Posted July 11, 2002 I'm Canadian and I call it soda...because pop sounds dumb. Actually, I just said the type of soda or brand. Like: "I'll have a Coke/Pepsi/Root Beer/Dr.Pepper/ etc.
Guest Youth N Asia Posted July 11, 2002 Report Posted July 11, 2002 Pop...that's what we say in Michigan anyway

Guest Insanityman Posted July 12, 2002 Report Posted July 12, 2002 I grew up where it's called Soda, I moved to where we call it pop... mainly the middle of the country uses pop or coke... I still use soda.
Guest The Man in Blak Posted July 12, 2002 Report Posted July 12, 2002 I grew up where it's called Soda, I moved to where we call it pop... mainly the middle of the country uses pop or coke... Yep - it's pop here in Kansas.
Guest Some Guy Posted July 12, 2002 Report Posted July 12, 2002 I call everything Coke. If I'm getting a Dr. Pepper, I say "I'm gonna go get a coke." Stupid Coca-cola... I've been brain-washed! I do the same thing. At a restaurant I'll ask for a "Coke" and the waitress will say, "Sorry we have Pepsi." And I say, "ok, what's your point?" It's is generally called soda here in Boston. From my travels I haev determines through and intricate study that here in the northeast it's "soda" and the mid-west and south it's "pop." I've never been further west than Chicago, so I don't know about that but it's probably "pop." People are so stupid everywhere else.
Guest Mr. Slim Citrus Posted July 12, 2002 Report Posted July 12, 2002 I call it by name; if I want a Mountain Dew, I say "Mountain Dew." To the people who say "pop," what do you call cream soda?
Guest The Man in Blak Posted July 12, 2002 Report Posted July 12, 2002 For Cream Soda, we always institute the "recognition by name" postulate. I mean, you couldn't call it "cream pop", could you?
Guest RetroRob215 Posted July 12, 2002 Report Posted July 12, 2002 "Cream Pop"? That sounds funny. I call it soda. I live on Long Island. I have never met a fellow LI'er or NYC resident call it pop. I went to Niagra Falls and I think they called it soda to.
Guest hardyz1 Posted July 12, 2002 Report Posted July 12, 2002 We call it pop in Pittsburgh. And the rest of PA (pretty much) calls it soda. Central PA here.
Guest Karnage Posted July 13, 2002 Report Posted July 13, 2002 Pop, Vancouver, BC Canada. Not every Canadian says Soda, some Canadians like Edge, Christian and Tom Green say soda.
Guest Shaved Bear Posted July 13, 2002 Report Posted July 13, 2002 i got soda...NYC i call my grandfather pop
