Guest kkktookmybabyaway Posted July 27, 2002 Report Posted July 27, 2002 I second Pop in Pittsburgh. Although now I just say Cola flavor because when I say Pop in Cincinnati I get confused looks...
Guest J*ingus Posted July 27, 2002 Report Posted July 27, 2002 Down here in the south, it's NEITHER of those. We just say "Coke" as a generic catch-all for all soft drinks.
Guest Grenouille Posted August 8, 2002 Report Posted August 8, 2002 Here's a map to show the differences in the US. Map
Guest converge241 Posted August 12, 2002 Report Posted August 12, 2002 pop? cmon.. whats next? tonic? elixir?
Guest Your Olympic Hero Posted August 17, 2002 Report Posted August 17, 2002 SODA all the way. Pop just sounds stupid to me...
Guest Flyboy Posted August 17, 2002 Report Posted August 17, 2002 Here's a map to show the differences in the US. Map That was golden. Anyhow, in Texas.. everyone says Coke, but I say soda.
Guest Rabbi_wilson13 Posted September 1, 2002 Report Posted September 1, 2002 I got another for pop in Western PA. I was a conference in DC over the summer with 350 juniors and seniors, and one girl was taking a poll at dinner the one night. At last count, it was even with about 60 votes apiece for Coke, Soda and Pop.
Guest El Psycho Diablo Posted September 1, 2002 Report Posted September 1, 2002 It's coke, damnit. That REALLY confuses people when you go anywhere north.
Guest TheRockIsTheEuropeanChampion Posted September 1, 2002 Report Posted September 1, 2002 Soda !!! Soon you will all learn! Happy birthday EPD, by the way. Today only: it is Coke! Luckily today is nearly done for me... Muahahahah.
Guest El Psycho Diablo Posted September 1, 2002 Report Posted September 1, 2002 Woah, somebody noticed! O_O_O Thanks, Rock. (and BTW..that banner is eerie..)
Guest The Camel Posted September 5, 2002 Report Posted September 5, 2002 I'm from Texas, and I call it any of the big three (coke, pop, soda). Mostly coke, but of the big two I prefer pop.
Guest dreamer420 Posted September 5, 2002 Report Posted September 5, 2002 CANADA - we've got pop (better than TNN's use anyway)
Guest RevEvil Posted September 8, 2002 Report Posted September 8, 2002 I'm from San Diego and I say soda.
Guest midnight_burn Posted September 8, 2002 Report Posted September 8, 2002 Australia: Soft Drink or Soda
Guest Mr. Slim Citrus Posted September 8, 2002 Report Posted September 8, 2002 It's coke, damnit.... 7-Up is most decidedly NOT coke. Neither is anything else I drink...
Guest The Ruthless Aggressor Posted September 8, 2002 Report Posted September 8, 2002 I'm from England, it is known as pop here, but I just usually call it by what it says on the can.
Guest RedGrangeMustLive Posted September 18, 2002 Report Posted September 18, 2002 Soda, I didn't realize there was anything else to call it. (Jersey)
Guest meanmaisch Posted September 18, 2002 Report Posted September 18, 2002 Soda in Jersey, though Cleveland is definitely pop country.
Guest goodhelmet Posted September 21, 2002 Report Posted September 21, 2002 soda, at least in san antonio
