I think they should just have all the rookies wrestle in a round robin, and that's how they can get over or something. I mean, beating main eventers (or in Jericho's case, former :() only drags the other down. They still use canned heat for all the rookies, despite their "big accomplishments"

Maybe that wouldn't be such a bad idea. It's stupid how a rookie can suddenly get a main-event match so early in his career and be booked to punk out a wrestler with more experience and that still hasn't ever been booked to be a good heel main-eventer in WWE due to politics.

God, the WWE wrestlers really need better strikes.

It's funny. The best strikes are in the cruiser division right now, mostly because those guys use snap kicks, forearms, chops, and elbows even more then punches. You don't have to so blatantly pull those strikes, as anyone with a little bit of stage combat background can throw a convincing forearm or kick without accidentally stiffing the person.

Then again, I can't really see Taker incorporate Tajiri kicks into his arsenal any time soon.

Hm. Maybe Christian would be over if he changed his name to "The Superstar" Jay Reso. Sorry for stealing your gimmick there, James.

Actually, I just think they should use strikes similar to those of Inoki, Muto, Kawada, and Vader.

I'm not sure which approach works better: putting a guy like Cena or Orton in with some main event talents at the beginning, or leaving someone like Batista in the low midcard building himself up. You can probably do well with either, but I think the most important thing right now is to distinguish them. Aside from being "rookies," they have zero defining personality. They look to be going somewhere with Orton, though, having lost thanks to tag partners three weeks running...I dunno. Throwing Batista/Orton in as the first or second match of the PPV and just giving them 8-10 minutes might do them better than all these half-assed tags and upper-card ass-kickings.

Management needs to take some risks. Almost everyone on the roster is being protected from clean jobs or losing an extended feud, and you're either going to build up somebody or nobody. Pick a few, and run with it.

Batista could be the next Undertaker, maybe even bigger. Just give him a good manager like Sinister Minister and it's gold.

Did anyone else find it funny when Jericho was giving Vince "booking" ideas? Classic.

That's what I hate about the WWE. The faces NEVER do clean jobs. I hate to sound like Anglesault ;), but Angle has to cheat to beat a guy who's having his first WWE match. Now if I recall, Angle beat Austin clean at Unforgiven. Of course, he was a face, and Austin was protected because his arm was under the rope when he tapped.

Jericho needs to put his feet on the ropes to pin John Cena. Jericho needs to cheat to defeat Mark Henry, Faarooq, etc. And of course, Jericho had not ONE clean win as Undisputed Champ.

...wait, he DID beat Maven clean...

Ugh. Maven...will someone respond to my above posts?

About Jericho's "Shoot" comments?

MAYBE HE'S JOINING THE KLIQ~!

OK, so what was the general consensus on SD! this week? I thought it was average, too many tag team matches, and Team Canada loses momentum by JOBBING TO RIKISHI after a FUCKING SAMOAN DROP.

JERICHO GETS PINNED AFTER A FUCKING PUNCH.

Rock/Busta Rhymes goes a LITTLE too long.

I can't stand John Cena.

I thought that it was a fun show...good way to shut off my brain and enjoy the show. The Test jobbing kind of pissed me off and the WWE can have my forgiveness if Cena jobs to Jericho in a good match at Vengence, if they have a match. Again, Test jobbing is a real bad way to start off the Canadian stable though. They need to be more dominate. Not saying that they shouldn't cheat though, the hypocrisy is good for heel heat.

Guest GenerationNever

Team Canada shouldn't be treated as the obvious heels. They should make Americans feel bad about themselves and get them to think some of what they do is wrong. They need to get the crowd to show emotion besides hate.

Guest CanadianChick

Didn't Bret Hart kind of do that already? I personally like that they act all bitter about Americans.

I'm guessing there will NOT be a YahooChat for SD this week

Smackdown still seems to be lacking something. But I must say that the show has been a lot better the last couple weeks with a certain someone off camera.

I can see a real direction to most of the stories. I could care less about the WWE title as long as Undertaker is carrying it around, but at least the build for the main event has been logical and everyone's acting in character. Rock's return has been well-promoted and should help to energize some other wrestlers. There's the progession of the team Canada storyline, the John Cena push and his storyline with Jericho, the Edge/Hogan tag team and Edge's feud with Jericho. And best of all it seems that all these storylines are starting to meld together to lead to some big new angle after Vengeance. Not to mention the slow push of Batista, Randy Orton's slow heel turn, the Jamie Noble/Nidia push and the Rey Jr. promos seem to indicate a real interest in pushing new faces.

It's a sharp contrast to Raw, which remains a complete mess with absolutely no direction. My head hurts just trying to figure out what Monday's show was supposed to lead to? It built up the NWO/Triple H confrontation (or was supposed to) but everyone else came across as midcard filler.

Disregarding this weeks episode, I think that Raw has more direction in general.

I just don't see any real direction for most of the wrestlers. Who has been elevated in recent weeks on the RAW brand? All I see is the NWO, Undertaker, Brock Lesnar and RVD being portrayed as important characters. And even then, Lesnar is not over at all because he sells for people like Tommy Dreamer. Batista is getting a much better "monster" push on Smackdown. Everyone else just trades wins back and forth in the midcard to ensure that no one gets over.

Have Benoit/Eddie/Dudleys/Booker/Goldust benefited at all from the booking in the last couple weeks? They all seem to be running in place. The Goldust/Booker skits may be funny but they don't build anything up if they are jobbing to the NWO every week. They spent all this time building up Booker/NWO and then seemed to blow if off this past week on RAW with Booker getting pinned again. Benoit's already turned into just another midcarder.

The undercard consists of Bradshaw, Tommy Dreamer and the Tough Enough kids. I don't see anyone getting pushed up the ladder or getting a strong character devleoped (with Chris Harvard being the possible exception). One week Regal is with Molly Holly, the next week he's with Chris Nowinkski. Jeff Hardy is wrestling for the WWE title one week and the European title the next. Ric Flair went from feuding with Benoit/Eddie to wrestling Steven Richards in the matter of 2 weeks. Jackie is a face slut one week and a heel slut the next. (Her acting does remain equally dreadful though.) What happened to the Trish/Bubba alliance?

The RAW brand is in desperate need of fresh blood.

I actually liked Smackdown.

The Rock's return was alright even with the Halloween Resurrection shill. It did go too long though. But I thought the Mark Lloyd segment was great. Reminded me of the days when Michael Cole was The Rock's bitch.

The matches were good too. Nothing really offensive about them like a Jackie Geyda match.

And they set up Rock vs Angle next week.

I don;t think that anything could to be as offensive as that Jackie match...anything!

Well, this is the WWE so they'll keep on trying.
