First PPV you ever ordered....

Recommended Posts

Guest kingkamala

My first PPV was *sigh* Summerslam 94 which actually isn't all too bad it's got a decent enough undercard and the awesome Bret Vs Owen cage match, but I didn't order it for those things I ordered it for The Undertaker Vs Undertaker match  , flame away if you want but I was eating that stuff up back when it actually happened. I actually haven't seen it since I watched the tape the day after the event happened so I really can't have an opinion on it. Summerslam 94 might haven't of been a bad choice but the first WCW PPV I ordered is considered a bad choice by most smarks(Even though I didn't really hate the show nor did I like it)

That was also my very first PPV. I had that and the Survivor Series after it on tape. It sucks that I taped over it though, it would be cool to pop them into the VCR for old times' sake.

I thought the SummerSlam PPV was awsome. Hart vs. Hart in a cage was amazing and just like you, I was pretty intrigued by the Undertaker vs. Undertaker match. Even though it was on Wrestlecrap, I loved the angle. I can't remember much about the PPV, but I do remember a Razor vs. Diesel w/ HBK match for the IC Title which I also liked just because I was a huge Razor Ramon mark back then. The Luger vs Tatanka match also had an angle I enjoyed, but from the beginning, I knew Luger wasn't selling out. Besides that, I can't remember anything else about the first PPV I ever saw.

the first ppv i watched like was over the edge 98 and it featured a kick ass steve austin/dude love match.

the first ppv i ever ordered on my own was no way 2000. it was of course main evented by cactus jack vs. hhh in hell in the cell. i ordered it that night because it figured it would be my last chance to see mick foley on ppv and that was important to me.

Wrestlemania XV...the less said the better.

Well actually, I was really looking forward to it, as we were having a small "wrestlemania party" at my house. I made myself and 2 friends coming over Mr. Sockos (*groan*) and I printed out the "matchup screen" pictures from Wrestlemania.com or whatever and wrote my predictions. PPV sucked except for 2 matches (Shane/X-Pac and Austin/Rock).

Survivor Series 1991 was the first PPV available in Canada and the first I ordered.

The first I ever watched live was Wrestlemania V.

Survivor Series 1991 is ok, with a good opener. Wrestlemania V is fantastic.

Growing up, I was lucky enough to be able to see many ppvs released on Coliseum Video.

An awesome memory I have is April 2, 1990. Our family was eating dinner when a mysterious man came to the side door. It was my dad's boss and he had handed a bag to my dad and left. 'Ol Daddio told me to open it after dinner. So after I was good and full, I opened it to discover a tape of WrestleMania 6!!! Just one day after it aired!!! At this time, it was HUGE!!! I guess my dad told his boss what a fan I was of the WWF, and he must of taped the encore as well. It was an awesome gesture and I was very greatful. I stayed up 3 1/2 hours that night to watch in its enirety (ok, so I skipped intermission).

The first I saw live on ppv was Royal Rumble 1992 at my buddy's house. I got to his house early and we watched an old SNME (Perfect wins battle royal) to fire us up. I'm happy to say we were actually cheering for Flair to win it once he made it to the second half. However, for whatever reason, I thought The Model would win it when he drew 26 or 27 since he went close to an hour the year before. I figured if he goes 1/4 of that, he should win. Silly Mark!!!

Well I guess I should reveal now that the first WCW PPV I ordered was WCW Superbrawl 2000, for some odd reason I was very very intrigued by Booker Vs Big T since I was an Ahmed Johnson mark in WWF and all of a sudden I hated him cause he stole the T from Booker. The second and biggest reason I wanted to see it was *sigh* Hulk Hogan Vs The Total Package*King Kamala hangs head in shame* I was a big Hogan mark at the time and I thought if he could get past the Total Package he could beat Sid and get his eighth WCW world title and retire with it. I bet I was the only person to order this PPV, cause I've heard like 3 people mention it when talking about WCW at the time.

Well I'm glad Superbrawl 2000 wasn't my first PPV I ordered but an embarrising fact was that it was the ONLY WCW PPV I ordered, I wanted to order New Blood Rising so bad(I'm glad I didn't now that I look back I didn't want to see that"shoot match" three way dance)

The first ppv I actually convinced my dad to buy was Survivor Series '91. Back in my mark days I thought it was the shit. Plus I hated Hulk Hogan and was excited as hell he lost the title. My second ppv was Royal Rumble '92. Damn, back then I was on a hot streak.

The first ppv I saw live was WM 3. My dad took my brother and I to see it on closed circuit tv at the Cole Fieldhouse at the University of Maryland. My dad, who is not much of a fan, even marked out during Steamboat/Savage. That's how damn good that match really was.

I'm getting misty eyed now.

First PPV seen: WWF In Your House - Badd Blood (October 1997)

Yep, first ever PPV I saw featured the original (and still the best) Hell In A Cell match. Undertaker vs. Shawn Michaels. That's the reason I ordered it, too, and I barely knew who the rest of the roster was.

First PPV I ordered myself: Halloween Havoc 1997

The first PPV I saw (at my Uncle's house) was Royal Rumble 1992. Everybody was rooting for Hogan except me and my Dad (Flair all the way, baby. Whoooo!)

The second PPV I ever saw was Summerslam 1992 at my Dad's friends house. I couldn't enjoy the show too much because the others were smoking and drinking.

Thrid PPV was Summerslam '93. I still like the show.

First WCW PPV was Fall Brawl '93. For some reason I like the show. Maybe it's because I like anything WCW from June '94 on down i.e. before Hogan came in.

I used to go to Pizza Parlors and friends houses to watch PPV's because I didn't have a satellite. I finally got one and the first PPV I ever ordered was Halloween Havoc '97. It had the horrible Piper/Hogan cage match. But it had the awesome Guerrero/Mysterio match as well. I say the PPv was good because there was also some other good stuff like DDP/Savage and Jericho/Gedo. The frist WWF PPV I ordered was Survivor Series '97. I remember having a bunch of friends over and after the Bret/Shawn match we kept rewinding the tape back because we knew Bret didn't give up.

First seen: WrestleMania 2 on CCTV. I was literally crying thinking Bundy had the cage match won. Don't flame me for it, I was seven.

First ordered: Summerslam 92. Still an excellent show even today (although two 20-minute plus matches help)

Halloween Havoc '98 featured the great Warrior/Hogan II match [/sarcasm}

My first PPV was Rock Bottom (1998). It was ok, but i haven't watched it since it aired, so i can't really remember it.

First WrestleMania VIII-A couple of good matches, but still loved for the nostalgia of being a complete mark at the time.

First WCW-Souled Out 2000-I haven't seen it since the night it aired. I can't remember that much, except Benoit became the world champ...for a night. ;)

Goddamn that was 98? I thought it was like 99 or 2000 for some reason.

Not like anybody really wants to remember that debacle anyway.

BTW, Eddy vs. Rey Jr. was Havoc 97 (with a rematch at World War 3 if I remember correctly)

Wrestlemania's Histories and Heroes in June of 91. I was 7 and it was playing all month long...I didn't see the whole thing though...it was boring and after Hogan Vs Warrior I went outside with my friends and forgot about the whole thing.

After that was SummerSlam 91...my cousin came over and we watched it with my dad. That was a fun night.

1st WCW PPV I ever ordered was Beach Blast 93, just to see the Sting and Bulldog Vs the Masters of the Powerbomb (Sid and Vader) and the Hollywood Blondes Vs the Horsemen (Roma and Arn). The last WCW PPV I ever ordered was Starrcade 97...
