Who SHOULD the Current WWE Champs be?

Recommended Posts

Guest Just call me Dan

WWE Undisputed Champion: Kurt Angle

- Best worker

- Best heel

- Has been a draw for a couple years

- fresh

WWE Intercontinental Champion: Brock Lesnar

- Shouldn't be a ME yet

- would have solid opponents to make him look good

-high enough on the card for a long run

WWE European Champion: Lance Storm

- Belt needs to be on Smackdown

- could rename belt (ala WCW) and have Test, Christian and himself defend it like the Triad did in WCW with the tag belts

WWE Women's Champion: Molly

- nothing wrong here

WWE Tag Team Champions: Eddie/Benoit

- Titles should be undisputed

- Could give us Angle/Jericho vs Eddie/Benoit Tag title Match (WOW)

- very credible champs who could have a lengthy reign

WWE Hardcore Champion: Who gives a Shit

- Abolish this title

WWE LHW Champion: Rey Mysterio

- rebuild the division around him

- if he gets TV time and can defend the belt weekly, he can hold it for a long time, establishing his credibility and that of the title

-He should be the best of the bunch the WWE has under contract

Undisputed-agree with you on Angle.

Intercontinental-Booker T. Winning the belt give him a better boost than feuding with 'Pac and Show can.

European-agree with you on Lance Storm.

Tag Team-Test and Christian. If they are serious about pushing the Canada angle, have them hold three belts at a time to give them some major heat. Plus, given Christian's tag experience and Test's "rough around the edges" workrate, they may be better off in a tag scenario.

Hardcore-Bleh. I retired it in my EWR, and I'd do it in real life. Has run it's course.

Cruiserweight-Hurricane. I don't think Noble should have won it right off the bat, and an extended feud probably could have gotten both of them over more. Hurricane is very over, so by having him hold the belt, have good matches and make it mean something to the fans, it would help both he and the belt out greatly.

Women's-agree with you on Molly.

Undisputed Champion: The Undertaker - More than anybody in the company right now, he has the rub to give. If he jobs the title to an up and comer, it will give them credibility that they couldn't get from anyone else, even Rock.

IC Champion: Rob Van Dam - Over, but I think he would drown in the main event. The WWE should give up any main event plans for him, and try to make him into the greatest IC Champ ever. It worked for Scott Hall.

Euro Championship: Lance Storm - Should go to Smackdown and be the equivalent of the IC Title. Storm should use this as a launching pad into superstardom.

Women's Champion: Molly Holly - It comes down to three women. Jazz is hurt, and the belt does nothing for Trish. That leaves Molly.

Tag Team Champions: Edge & Hogan - I hate to say it, but I like the pairing of these two. Like RVD, Hogan is super over, and we have the added advantage of knowing he can't cut it in the main events. The tag division is the perfect place for him, and Edge can get the rub from him. Just don't make it seem like Hogan is carrying the team.

Hardcore Champion: Big Show - His hardcore matches aren't that bad, and since he is going to be around anyways might as well make him watchable.

CW Champion: Chavo Guerrero Jr. - Ideally you want Misterio to chase the belt, and Chavo easily is the most talented heel worker in the division.

And I can't make it through my day without the anti-RVD post from Rasmus.

I could list the reasons this makes no sense...or I could go postwhore anti-HHH stuff...

Just because you are over doesn't mean you are a draw. Look at Hogan.

Let me see....how many opportunities has RVD had to see if he is a draw?

hmm....

How many pushes has he had to the main event that lasted longer than 3 weeks?

hmm....

Right, which is why we are having this argument.

If he had an extended run at the top (I'm talking a year or more) we would know conclusively one way or another.

I don't think he would be a good draw. You do. But just because he is over doesn't guarantee that he would make a good draw.

WWE Undisputed Champion: Kurt Angle

No valid reason not to give him the title.

WWE Intercontinental Champion: Eddy Guerrero

I don't think he'll ever ME in the WWF so I'll make him the top upper mid-carder

WWE European Champion: Lance Storm

Needs a belt to get his faction over.

WWE Women's Champion: Trish Stratus

Best female performer, Top female face, many heels to feud with.

WWE Tag Team Champions: Harvard/Regal

Regal is entertaining but boring as a singles wrestler

WWE Hardcore Champion: Batista

Either him or trash the belt

WWE LHW Champion: Chavo Guerrero

Great performer, many CW faces to feud with.

Its not the fact that he is over that makes me think he can draw.

In fact I don't think anyone is singlehandedly capable of drawing anything at this point.

But RVD has something more than just being over.

HE didn't get over because the WWE made it so...he got over because he has "it".

Not many people have "it".

But RVD does.

WWE Title - The Rock

Giving the Rock the belt gets the WWE's biggest star on both shows, which will be helpful in selling tickets and so on. Rock is one of the few guys left who people will go to see. Also, he can have strong feuds on both shows (Angle/Jericho/HHH on Smackdown, Benoit/Lesnar/nWo/Undertaker on RAW).

Intercontinental Title - Rob Van Dam

Good person to hold this belt and has lots of people to feud with.

European Title - William Regal

Just feels right.

Tag Titles - Edge and Hogan

They could have a good feud with some combination of Storm/Test/Christian. They can add some prestige back to the belt.

Cruiserweight Title - Rey Mysterio Jr.

The top name in the division, he will be well received by fans.

Hardcore Title - don't care

This title doesn't matter.

Women's Title - Trish Stratus

She's good in the ring, easy on the eyes, and popular with the crowds.

WWE Undisputed Champ - Jericho

He can easily bring something more interesting to the title. His ability to move from super-heel to super-face so quickly makes him hard to become tired of. He is a great investment for the title, he's got more years left than Taker, he has alot more experience then most people in his shape. EtcEtc

WWE IC - RVD

He should feud with Benoit. Cool matches? Hell yea.

WWE European - Hear me out on this... Taka

I think one of the most unappreciated wrestlers in WWE is Taka. I saw his work in Japan, and he has ALOT of talent. Maybe if Vince took his head out of his ass and realized not all Japanese people can't speak English, he could have a real star on his hands.

Also, Lance Storm, I agree with Dan. A European-Canadian Champion would be priceless.

WWE LHW - ???

Doesn't matter that much, as long as they have a good LHW division. I can see the following going after it:

Kidman, Rey, Hurricane, Noble, Super Crazy (Bring him!), Nova, Chavo (if he wasn't fired), etcetc

WWE Womens - I feel terrible about saying this, but it must be said

WHO CARE?!

How many women's matches were more than **?! None. Well, maybe Trish vs. Jazz @ Wrestlemania... but still, was that worth putting it second to last on the card? NO!

WWE Hardcore - its a joke

Make the Hardcore division GOOD! Don't give people like Maven, or Test it. Make the people who actually are willing to do something sick that required no talent but looks damn cool.

NAMELY: SHANE MCMAHON (HAHA)

Also, bring the E-C-Dub guys to it... New Jack, Sandman, Raven, Dreamer, Credible, Awesome, Norman Smiley (I mark out for the wiggle), and Perry Saturn.

WWE Title - The Rock

Quite frankly, if anyone is going to get the next generation of Superstars over the fan acceptance hump, its going to Rocky. Give him the title and let him go for as long as he's going to stick around (so when he does job it means something) and then hand the belt off to the person who you think can be the next big draw.

Intercontinental Title - Chris Jericho

I honestly don't think Jericho can really be a top of the card draw. But I do think he can do some awesome business as the second tier champion for an extended reign of cheating like a bitch against soon to be top guys and putting down over midcarders cleanly.

European Title - Chris Harvard

In my world, the Euro-title becomes the up-and-comers title were most of the young guys in the company battle it out for supremacy before taking the step up to the next level. Of those guys, why not Harvard Chris? He seems to be working on his snotty character okay.

Tag Titles - Canadian Triad

Give them the treatment where any 2 of 3 can defend the title, and have Christian and Lance do the defending at PPVs. That way, Test can still be a "body guard" and still work relatively frequently while the better of the two still carry the ball for the most part.

Cruiserweight Title - Jamie Noble

There's no need to hotshot the belt to Rey Jr. right away when you can see how he's going to look as a draw against Tajiri. Meanwhile have Noble build some more heat with Hurricane and Kidman before pulling the switch.

Hardcore Title - Dump It

The problem with the Hardcore title is that the matches commonly have weapon shots that would normally lead to decisions in normal matches. The hardcore division isn't worth hurting the rest of the promotion.

Women's Title - Trish

Molly isn't doing anything for me since her gimmick's already been done by Jazz and Ivory. Think of something else and get back to us. Trish is kinda over, so go with her.

Undisputed Title - A bunch of guys could hold this one right now.

Rob Van Dam - The most over face in the company next to The Rock, first on Raw. The number one pick right now to hold it.

Kurt Angle - SmackDown's #1 heel as well as the company's. Excellent in the ring and the mic. One of the most over as well.

Chris Jericho - SmackDown's #2 heel, could do wonders for team Canada if Jericho reclaimed the gold.

Intercontinental Title

Booker T - The number two face on Raw, has gotten great fan support recently. Sticking a title such as IC could do wonders for a face Booker.

Brock Lesnar - If Heyman would: a) Not talk as much; b ) have Brock bitch him out more; or c) leave Brock, he could be a better heel than he is. Heyman has been guilty of heat leech off of the 'Next Big Thing'

Eddie Guerrero - An excellent ring worker. A heel partnership with Benoit works well, but I'm not saying here to put the titles anywhere that they aren't, so no tag titles. Though something interesting would be for Guerrero and Benoit to do is make an impromtu challenge against the tag champs at a PPV and bring the belts over to Raw.

European Title

Jeff Hardy - As high as a title as he should get to right now. Not a bad champ for this division.

William Regal - Four or five time champ, always a European title contender.

Tommy Dreamer - He's pretty over, as a European title contender/underdog, Tommy may be able to go places on Raw's midcard.

Hardcore Title

Tommy Dreamer - Can put on a good garbage match, and is over like stated above.

Steven Richards - Whacko Stevie has already had it a few times, and it's not like they have any kind of role for him.

Buh Buh Ray Dudley - He's over, but not really more than European/Hardcore title level. He could leave the singles game though and form the Dudley Boys with Spike instead.

Cruiserwieght Title

Rey Mysterio Jr - Quite the buzz around this lil' fella.

The Hurricane - Arguably the most over cruiserweight.

Billy Kidman - In my eyes currently the best cruiserwieght, we'll see which Mysterio we get.

Tajiri - He can stabalise the gold, though (K)Noble is a good champ.

Tag Team Titles

Christian & Lance Storm - If I can be serious for a moment...Team Canada should have the tag straps.

Chris Jericho & Kurt Angle - It's a long shot, though Can-Am 2002 would be cool, and it would make Kurt the fourth Grand Slam champion.

Billy Gunn & Chuck Palumbo - The only actual team on SmackDown!

Women's Title

Molly Holly - End the stupid fueds with the plastic broads and just do it in the ring.

Jackie Gayda - On second thought...

WWE World Heavyweight ("Undisputed") Champion: Undertaker. For reason provided by Kahran Ramsus.

WWE Intercontinental Champion: Booker T. I think a title could help Booker get over, but I don't think he's over enough to be World Champion yet. RVD is over enough to be in the world title scene, and I don't see much sense of having the I-C title ostensibly placed in limbo while the I-C champ is pursuing the World Title.

WWE Television (European) Champion: Lance Storm. The "Canadian Mafia" needs a few belts to help them get over.

WWE Tag Team Champions: Test and Christian. See TV Title.

WWE Cruiserweight Champion: Chavo Guererro Jr.

WWE Women's Champion: Molly

WWE Hardcore Champion: retire

Undisputed Champ- Undertaker

IC Champ- Chris Benoit

European Champ- Lance Storm

Light Heavy Champ- Tajiri

Hardcore Champ - Raven

Woman Champ - Jazz

World Tag Team Champs - Chris Jericho/Kurt Angle

The main reason for them to be champion is that all of them have one thing in common and that is that they can give good matches, are credible champions and also are able to portray the old time champs who face either heels or faces.

Undertaker has already shown he can wrestle heels and faces, Benoit will fight you whether you are friend or foe at the drop of a hat, Storm has skills and is able to project the whole disdain for the other wrestlers type aura, especially if he goes into his Canada rules persona, Tajiri doesnt care who he fights it seems, Raven is just a cool worker especially in the free for all division of the hardcore division, Jazz doesnt care if they are heels or faces, she thinks all of the women of the WWE are just models, and I agree that Jericho and Angle are able to change from face to heat roles effortlessly. Just my opinion.....

I'd buy a PPV with RVD vs. HBK, no matter how deterioted HBK is.

Its the battle of the times, the triple letters, the high fliers.

It'd be my own personal Hogan/Rock.

Undisputed Championship- Jericho (as a face)

Why? Jericho is more over as a face, that's why and maybe he won't be made out to look like a pussy with the belt. Something like Shawn as a face with the belt.

Intercontinental Championship- Edge (as a heel)

Why? Because I like the idea of Edge leading Team Canada, and that JEricho/Edge feud should end up in a double turn with Jericho defecting American and Edge defecting Canadian. This gives both men a great push and makes the IC Champ seem jsut about on the same level, but jsut below the World Champ. Also, this unites...

Tag Team Champions- EDGE & CHRISTIAN!!

You could have this..Or if you want to keep Edge a face and Jericho a heel, you could have the Team Canada feud be turned the other way around and we could have LANCE STORM & CHRIS JERICHO, THE THRILLSEEKERS~! as Champs. Markout moment.

European (change name to TV Title)- This should sort of be like a rookie of the year title, with guys who have been in less than a year or two fighting over it. A year after a guy's been in the fed, the title is vacated and a tournament sets up at the pay per view for it. Maybe the TV Tournament each year could take the palce of King of the Ring?

Hardcore Championship - Raven/Rhyno

Why? Because I think any ECW guy should be champion for this. Tommy Dreamer would be a good candidate as well, sicnei t seems they're trying to give him a push. And I think the way this title could be reborn is if for one the 24/7 rule is abolished, two, they get rid of the WWF Hardcore Belt and go EXTREME bringing in the former ECW World belt, and that each and every one of these matches are really extreme, bloody, and brutal, not just garbage "matches".

Women's Title- Molly Holly

Seems fine here, but the whole purity angle and the way she does it isn't very good. I guess maybe she just needs some mroe competition in the Women's division. Trish, Lita, Jazz, I'm looking at you.

Cruiserweight Title- Byebye.

Why? Because noone ever takes a lightweight seriously if he can't "hang with the big boys" enough that he has to fight in a different division and title. Noone with this title gets taken seriosuly anywhere outside of the division, and so it's rather pointless to have. I like the NWA:TNA's concept of the "X" Division Belt, where they say it's the high-flying 'style' not the weight that gets them in the division ot compete. Don't know what the true groundwork and rules for it is though.

If there are any belts I forgot, then scrap em.
