I'm sure they did give a crap. Fuck it was the NBA Finals.

I'd know i'd try my darnest.

Why? It's not like they were going to lose, or anything...

But anyway nice aguring with you guys.

Leave the rest of your opinions in this threat, and i'll reply tomorrow.

Wow, what happen to this thread? From the information I've gathered through various TV shows and newspaper articles, if convicted of everything he'd get up to 54 years in prison. The chances of him being convicted of everything are pretty slim though and depending on whether they find a gun or not there may not be any jail time at all. If he is convicted of anything it probably won't go to trial until next year, leaving Iverson to play all of this season.

Back to the Iverson situation, I think he'll get off because all he have to do is convice his cousin and his roommate that he didn't mean to do it, pay them off so they won't pursue the case further, but he's already on probation so he might see some punishment.

Hey, if Ray Lewis only got probation for being invovled in two murders. Iverson most likely will get fined or community service for some shit.

Face it guys, Allen Iverson is the best player since MJ.

And that should totally excuse him from breaking the law.

What bullshit - I say throw him in Cell Block-E with Bubba and have that worthless piece of shit do hard time.

I think it's time for me to kill this thread (hey, it's what I do).

Kingpk SEZ:

The Sixers should just release the guy, he's nothing but trouble no matter how good he is. I know I would.

You can't think like that, though. The Sixers with Allen Iverson in jail for a year would probably be better than the Sixers without Iverson. Besides, you'd hate to be the team that released a guy who took another team to the NBA Finals. Then you'd look like a HUGE dumbass.

Jerome Drake SEZ lots of stuff:

Fuck his outside antics. The guy basically took them to the finals last year ... (w)ho cares if he doesnt show up for pratice. The guy doesnt need it, if he can take them to the finals.

Expect for two things ... his NBA Finals trip is officially TWO seasons ago, and the Sixers didn't make too many waves in the playoffs last year. It seems like the rest of his team cares that he doesn't show up for practice, and that's more important than what I think or what you think. My personal opinion is that if he's going to be their leader, he's gotta be the first guy on the court and the last guy off. That's what makes you a leader, and that's what makes the guys around you want to get you your thirty points a game.

Face it guys, Allen Iverson is the best player since MJ.

Yeah, but the Michael Jordan of 1998, the one that had to shoot 30 times a game to get his thirty points. Look, I don't hate Allen Iverson; in fact, I respect the fact that he's a tough little shit that goes into the paint knowing that he's going to get hit hard. But he still takes too many quick jump shots. His game is by no means complete. He takes shots early in the shot clock, too, which is MURDER for a team trying to find other ways to score. He's not there yet. He may never get there. No one may get to MJ in his prime.

All i know is A.I. is the best player in the leauge.

Oh, come on ... we all know that the best player in the league resides somewhere in the Western Conference, be it Duncan, Garnett, Kobe, or Shaq.

The guy averaged this year and last year 30 points per game! NO one in the NBA can currently do that, NOT EVEN SHAQ.

Actually, if Shaq took as many shots as Iverson, he would've scored 2475 points, which over 82 games, is a PPG average of 30.18. Just playing Devli's Advocate.

Sure he doesnt pass often, but to who? Maybe Aaron McKie, but thats basically it.

Well, I think Todd MacCullough showed this year what HE can do when he gets the ball consistently in a position to score ...

But the thing is, he is the only person scoring, and hes ACTUALLY WINNING. See lots of people can score, 30 points, BUT NOT win. But A.I. is doing it and winning.

43-39 last year, and fortunate to sneak into the six seed of the weaker conference by the back door.

Everyone acts like the East is crap. A.I. got passed Carter, Davis, JYD, Ray Allen, Sam Cassell, Glenn Robinson. AND DID SOMETHING NO WEST TEAMS COULD, WIN A GAME AGAINEST THE LAKERS.

Well, the East is crap. That's wonderful that the Sixers won a game against the Lakers, but guess what? That's no moral victory. Facing a juggernaut or no, they still got their asses handed to them in the series. That's why the East is crap - because the last three years, the East has managed to go 3-12 in the NBA Finals. The West's top eight were 171-69 (71.25%) against the Eastern Conference last year. The East's top eight versus the West? 111-113 (49.55%).

Hey, if Ray Lewis only got probation for being invovled in two murders. Iverson most likely will get fined or community service for some shit.

True, but being an accessory to a murder on a first offense is different from actually geting away with double murder. I mean, why use Ray Lewis as an example when OJ's RIGHT THERE!?

Well, firstly, since its really his first time going to prison, he'll probably plea bargain to something much much less. Even if he doesn't, everything will run concurrently. What's that quote from Airheads? "Rock stars don't go to jail ... Hell, Vince Neil only did 90 days in jail, and he killed someone."

pinnacleofallthingsMANLY~! SEZ:

He reminds me of Charles Barkley, always expressing himself ... with guns for added emphasis.

Well, maybe that's because ... nope. Never mind. You make up your own Jayson Williams joke here. It's too easy for me.

Mr. Slim Citrus SEZ:

Allen Iverson isn't even the best guard in the Atlantic Division.

He might not even be top three right now, with the emergence of Paul Pierce and the shockingly unselfish play of Jerry Stackhouse last year.

Sounds good. As long as it keeps the thread away from "Shaq gets every call known to man", I'll read it.

That was quite a good post from El Hijo Del Lunatic responding to all kinds of crazy stuff in one post. Extra credit for the Airheads quote, but the words "in jail" aren't in there. Close enough. I totally agree with this part:

""Face it guys, Allen Iverson is the best player since MJ."

Michael Jordan...my god is anyone more overrated than this guy? I still think there are quite a few players that in their prime were better all around players than he was. But the NBA chooses to ignore players that were in the league before Stern took over.

As for Allen, they are trying to throw the book at the guy. He thinks his wife is in the house, he pushes his way in, sees she isn't there, and leaves. Dude has like 50 charges on him now. He won't get convicted on any of them.

The media is a bunch of arseholes too. They act like the guy has been in prison for a majority of his life and is a convict.

Michael Jordan led his teams to six championships and became his own merchandise industry. The man deserves some credit.

From what i am hearing Iverson kicked his naked wif out of the house during an argumentand, forced his way into someone else's house and threatned him with a gun he didn't have a license for. I don't think he should be hung for that, but I don't think he should get a slap on the wrist. I would press every charge i could if someone forced their way into my house, gun or no gun.

The say that he never said anything about gun or threatning the guy with the gun. The guy says that he saw a gun in his waist band. If he werent a celebrity the charges wouldn't be hald as bad.

Micahel Jordan is ONE of the greatest players to ever play. But people talk like he is the hands down, no argumnet greatest player to ever step on the court. That in my opinion is overrating a guy.

From what I read, Iverson never brandished the gun but he did show it to the guy. Showing someone that you have a gun is threatening him and he had no business frocing his way into someone's house. I can't say that he should face a whole lot of jail time for the incident, but if you force your way into someone's house you deserve what ever befalls you.

Dude, if it were a normal guy he would not have 14 charges against him for pushing his way into his cousins house. I'm sorry but you know it wouldn't be that bad. If he gets off all charges with no reprecussions, you can attribute that to celebrity status, but a some of those charges are really reaching.

Not really. Lewis was "merely" with the people that commited the crimes, Iverson is the one accused of actually doing this laundry list of felonies. BTW... Iverson will walk clean and be glorified more than ever. Nice culture we've got going here.

As if he isn't getting celebrity treatment already. The guy was charged on Friday or Saturday, yet he will surrender to police on Tuesday because his lawyer is on vacation.

Anyone else would be charged and then thrown in the back of a cop car.

I bet he gets probation and community service, or a suspended sentence. And I doubt he will be convicted on all counts as well.

I don't think there's enough evidence to be convicted of everything, but he will get a much less severe punishment than a normal man.

So? Kobe also has Shaq.

Just because you have a championship ring doesnt mean your a great player.

Dan Marino doesnt have a Superbowl ring, and hes one of the best Quaterbacks ever.

Barry Bonds doesnt got a championship ring, and hes problay the best baseball player in the leauge.

You can not judge a player by championship rings.

If so, then that means Mark Madsen is better than John Stockan

Those are exceptions... you've named 3 great players that have never won. I might start listening if you can name 30.

How many "greatest players in the NBA" haven't won a ring?
