well...i'd have to only choose matches where my favored guy went over in a non-cheap way, cause an ending i don't like just leaves a bad taste in my mouth. this eliminates some of my favorite matches like summerslam 92 (which definitely would've been on my list cause the match was great & the crowd was RABID), wrestlemania 13, summerslam 01, badd blood & mind games. i need a markout ending in addition to the great match.

 

1) jericho-benoit/austin-trips, may 21 raw: i was going apeshit just watching it in my friend's living room, i can only imagine how emotional i'd get if i was there at ringside.

 

2) bret/owen, summerslam 94: my favorite match ever, & only below the raw match because it didn't have the same rocky-esque underdog appeal to it.

 

3) shawn/razor, wrestlemania 94: i'm absolutely shocked that this isn't on everybody's list. not only is this one of the best wwf matches ever, but no one had ever seen anything like this before. if i was at ringside, being exposed to that kind of stuff for the first time...holy shit.

 

4) 92 rumble: again, something that had never been done before. i remember watching the video (i never got the ppv's as a kid, i had to wait till they came out on video) and just being floored by ric flair winning the royal rumble after drawing #3.

 

5) 10 man tag, canadian stampede: everybody seems to have at least one "unreal crowd heat" match on their list, so here's mine. and unlike rock/hogan or goldberg/hogan, it's actually a really good match (even though i think some people like SK have overrated it). how can a group of people be so loud for so long?

 

and i really would've liked to put at least one kobashi match on the list, but the damn guy seems to lose all my favorite matches of his.
