Guest Black Tiger Report post Posted July 12, 2002 Who will be the next Three Muskateers for New Japan? Mutoh is fucking up All Japan, Hashimoto is doing Zero-One, and Chono is the booker, he has mega charisma but can't really work. I think Yugi Nagata, Hiroyoshi Tenzan, and maybe Manabu Nakanishi, since Kojima is gone.
Guest BionicRedneck Report post Posted July 12, 2002 Tenzan and Nagata for definate. Muto, Chono and Hash were all excellent workers in their prime, and Nagata and Tenzan are also great workers. Manabu Nakanishi, however isn't...but, he is big, strong and athletic. So yeah, youre probably right. Maybe Hiroshi Tanahashi. It should have been Kojima
Guest Black Tiger Report post Posted July 12, 2002 I agree that it should have been Kojima, since training with Karl Gotch, Nakanishi has SUPPOSEDLY improved a great deal (I say supposedly because I haven't seen anything first hand. I like Tanahashi but he's still a young lion, he has enough potential that he's in this years G-1. The only other wrestler I can think of who is a decent worker with lots of experience is Osamu Nishimura. His health is an issue though.
Guest Stuart Report post Posted July 12, 2002 It's probably too late for Nagata and Tenzan's generation to really become a "3 Muskateers" now. They were negatively effected by several years worth of bad booking. They may become big draws, but I doubt they'll ever compare business-wise to the original 3 Muskateers. The next 3 Muskateers, if there are any, will be more recent dojo graduates. Tanahashi is a definite possibility, as is Blue Wolf when he develops more. Yano recently debuted and there are some ten students in the dojo now, so lots of promise given the good/bad ratio of the New Japan dojo in the last decade (very few failures and outright bad workers).
