Everybody that says that Pepper tastes like cough syrup should binge a six of Pibb - that is some of the nastiest stuff concocted by man. Guest Jobber of the Week Report post Posted July 13, 2002 I love Mr. Pibb. Pibb DOES taste different than Dr Pepper, although you may need to try it a few times to realize it. I liked the taste of Pibb more, although I'm aware there's some who like the taste of Pepper. For those who don't know what Pibb was, it was a drink made by Coca-Cola in areas where Coke didn't have the bottling rights to Dr Pepper. If Pepsi or 7UP won the rights to bottle Pepper to an area, Coke would put out a competitor in Pibb. Alas, Mr. Pibb is dead. It was replaced with Pibb X-Tra, which tastes like crap in comparison.
