Guest 4Life Posted July 13, 2002 Report Posted July 13, 2002 Do you think he would have been a Wolrd Champ by now? If he was alive I believe Bret would have returned to WWF after being fired by Bischoff. Lots of ifs...
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Posted July 13, 2002 Report Posted July 13, 2002 Owen wouldn't win the WWE Austin wouldn't work with him...which takes care of a large portion of time. Rock would have put him over...I doubt HHH would have. But he would have drowned in politics.

Rock would have put him over...I doubt HHH would have. But he would have drowned in politics. Then I'm guessing Austin and Owen didn't get along after that piledriver (I've never seen it). I haven't watched any WWF from 1995-2000. I lived in Charlotte, NC and that's WCW country (forget Atlanta)>
Guest WWF4Life Posted July 13, 2002 Report Posted July 13, 2002 He wouldn't have been the World champion, but I think he would of had numerous great matches with guys like Benoit, Jericho and Angle. Probably a dependable upper mid-carder.
Guest AM The Kid Posted July 13, 2002 Report Posted July 13, 2002 He would have been the World Champion, and would be retired now.
Guest crandamaniac Posted July 13, 2002 Report Posted July 13, 2002 Me thinks he probably would have been feuding for the IC title, then would have eventually gone to WCW with his brother. Either that, or Vince, to make Owen happy, and hopefully resign him, would have started to push him in order to get him to re-sign
Guest bob_barron Posted July 13, 2002 Report Posted July 13, 2002 Why do you think Owen would be champ?? I think he'd be upper midcarder or tag teamer. And yea- I'd think he'd be retired today
Guest dreamer420 Posted July 17, 2002 Report Posted July 17, 2002 sadly i don't think there is anyway owen would have been world champ. i think if he had lived then he would have kept teaming with jarrett. jarrett might never have left the wwf then. i think owen would be in the top of the midcard had jarrett left. he would be a main eventer on raw and smackdowns but not main even material. i don't think he ever really was during his career.
Guest HartFan86 Posted July 17, 2002 Report Posted July 17, 2002 Owen would have been world champ by 2000 and retired by 2001 (at the latest).
Guest Crippler15 Posted July 17, 2002 Report Posted July 17, 2002 I think Owens big push came and went in 1994 and I never really see him getting another one. Upper mid carder sounds about right.
Guest TheSmarkzone Posted July 17, 2002 Report Posted July 17, 2002 He would have been retired by now. If you'll recall, he had just bought a new house and was planning to leave the business in a year or two to be a fireman so that he could be with his family. I doubt he would have ever been the WWE champ. He would have had some great matches with Kurt Angle, Chris Jericho, and HHH, though.
Guest Your Olympic Hero Posted July 17, 2002 Report Posted July 17, 2002 He would still be in the Blue Blazer costume, jobbing to HHH and Nash within 2 minutes of a handicapped match on Raw.
Guest dreamer420 Posted July 17, 2002 Report Posted July 17, 2002 i don't think own would have retired. he did love his family and want to spend more time with them but his love of wrestling would have kept him in the wwf. another possibility is that he could have been working for jarrett's new promotion.
Guest Razor Roman Posted July 18, 2002 Report Posted July 18, 2002 Him and Mick Foley would have become the funniest commentary team ever. Smell the ratings!
Guest BionicRedneck Posted July 18, 2002 Report Posted July 18, 2002 Although he was a superb wrestler, he would probly still be in the shitty undercard position he was in 98.
Guest dreamer420 Posted July 19, 2002 Report Posted July 19, 2002 Him and Mick Foley would have become the funniest commentary team ever. Smell the ratings! you must have been thinking about the 1996 king of the ring when you posted that. owen was pure gold that night. i didn't think that he might have gone into commentating. he didn't realyl have the voice for it but he would be the perfect heel announcer and it would have given him a lot of time off. damn.
Guest Human Fly Posted July 19, 2002 Report Posted July 19, 2002 you must have been thinking about the 1996 king of the ring when you posted that. owen was pure gold that night. "That no good Ahmed Johnson headbutted my cast and tried to injure my borken arm!" I'm not sure if that was the exact quote, but he was hilarious all night.
Guest JAxlMorrison Posted July 23, 2002 Report Posted July 23, 2002 I am not sure where Owen would be today......maybe retired, maybe NWA, but I do know one thing. Owen NEVER would have won the World title. In December of 97 when he returned and attacked HBK, I was sure Owen would've gotten the strap, but instead he was shafted into Euro title feud with HHH, jobbed at Mania, and got pushed into a nonsensical role with the Nation. He was never given the proper treatment due to politics, and if he had lived it wouldn;t have been any different, Hunter and Austin would have held him down at every opportunity. Actually now that I think of it, he probably would've went to WCW at his first opportunity to reunite with Jarrett or Bret.
Guest papacita Posted July 23, 2002 Report Posted July 23, 2002 As much as I hated his on screen character, I always wanted him to get the title for some reason. If he had lived, I honestly think he would've gotten it. He'd have seniority over the rest of the WWF locker room, he was over no matter what role he was put in, and if Vince would put the belt on Foley, he'd have to put the title on Owen at one time or another. Shit, Owen stuck with Vince despite what happened with Bret. This alone leads me to believe that Vince wouldn't allow Owen to retire without winning the title at least once.
