Recommended Posts

Guest Angle2004

This will be the new format for my booking. I'll do a new topic for every PPV. In that topic I'll post the TV leading up to the PPV and the PPV card itself. Hope you guys enjoy it and feedback is welcomed. Raw 7/22/02 (night after Vengeance) should be posted within the next couple days.

Note: The new rule for WWE Champion and WWE Women's Champion is when they lose the title they get to pick what show they want to go to. It makes it easier to book.

Taker grabs a mike and says that his ass ain’t moving until either Nash or Shawn Michaels get out here. It doesn’t take long as n.W.o music hits and both Nash and HBK come out and head to the ring. They both get in and Taker begins taking it to both of them. HBK soon bails and Taker begins rocking Nash with big right hands. Suddenly, Big Show runs down and nails Taker from behind. Show drags Taker outside and chockslams him through the announce table! As the n.W.o backs up the ramp Taker slowly gets up and gets a mike. He says that it will take a lot more than that to put him out. He challenges any member of the n.W.o to a match next week on Raw. The n.W.o looks shocked as they back up the ramp without saying a word.

After the match, Jeff Hardy runs down with a chair and plasters both D’Lo and Matt. Bradshaw then nails Jeff from behind and throws him out of the ring. This is a hard-fought 12-minute match. Rock eventually gets the win with the Rock Bottom. As Rocky leaves up the ramp Brock Lesnar comes out of nowhere and clotheslines his head off. This show was good, but definitely my least favorite of the bunch (although that's not bad because the other's have been really good.)

What I really didn't like about this show was Eddie joining the nWo. I think Eddie is a bit too talented of a wrestler to be stuck in that group. He's alright in tag action, but I think that he'll just get lost in the mix of the nWo with the bigger guns, Nash and HBK, running the show. I think Eddie could be doing more. Maybe there's more to this and I'm jumping the gun, but oh well.

I was happy to see that Spike/Credible were getting on air time, but disappointed to see that it was just to be Undertaker roadkill. Hopefully these guys will get a fair shake eventually. The Taker/nWo interaction was great, though. Great stuff with Taker/HBK especially.

And I don't understand Lesnar getting arrested. I mean, it makes sense in theory, but some Lesnar/Rock interaction should have been on the show in my opinion. (NOTE: Upon further inspection, there was Rock/Lesnar interaction. In fact, it was done brilliantly in my opinion.) But, you turned Lesnar how I believe he should be turned - a psychotic, sadistic heel. So I guess it was a good thing/bag thing kind of segment.

Another good/bad segment was the Flock reformation. It's great that it's reformed, and it's great that they're feuding with Booker T, but I think that Goldust turning on Book was bad. BookDust have great chemistry and really click in my opinion. I think a BookDust/Flock feud would be even better if the Flock had someone like Saturn or Kidman instead of Goldust. Stasiak in the stable is a great idea though.

I loved the Bradshaw/Hardy/D'Lo/Matt Hardy thing going on. It was brilliantly booked in my opinion.

Overall, you have some great ideas going, and I do believe that there is more good - way more good than bad going on. But I also believe that while some of the angles are great, tweaking them a bit would have made them greater.

Anywho, keep up the great work. I'm really digging this series.

WWE Smackdown 7/25/02

Taped from Indianapolis, Indiana

-Highlights are shown from the Vengeance PPV on the Smackdown side of things. Then we get the Smackdown opening and fireworks display. The announcers hype the big main event, which is Chris Benoit vs. Triple H.

-The show opens with Kurt Angle cutting an interview. He whines about being screwed over at Vengeance, etc, etc. Typical Kurt Angle stuff. Kurt’s whining is interrupted by the newest member of the Smackdown roster… Chris Benoit! Benoit tells Kurt too quit whining and accept the fact that he lost. Kurt makes fun of Benoit, saying that he got his BUTT kicked on the Raw roster and now he’s here. Kurt says that he’s probably here to join those geeky Canadians. Kurt says that he will not let Team Canada take over and challenges him to a match at Summerslam. Benoit says that he isn’t joining Team Canada. He says that they represent the worst part of Canada. He does, however, except Kurt Angle’s challenge. Benoit says that Kurt should watch the main event closely as Benoit will school Triple H. We get a quick staredown as the announcers hype the first booked match for Summerslam.

-Nidia is shown walking out of Tajiri’s dressing room. The camera goes into the dressing room to see Tajiri lying on a couch under some covers. He has a big-ass smile on his face.

COMMERCIAL

-The Hurricane makes his return (was out with an arm injury for a few weeks) next. He takes on Chavo Guerrero Jr. They go at it for 8 minutes before a guy dressed up just like Hurricane jumps in the ring and attacks Hurricane. The ref gives the match to Hurricane by DQ. The Hurricane look-alike stomps the hell out of the real Hurricane. He puts Hurricane on the top rope and hits a Hurracanrana from the top. The look-alike takes off the mask and it turns out to be Shannon Moore. Shannon explains whom he is, talking about how he teamed up with Helms in WCW. He says that he’s Hurricane got a good look at him because now he knows how ridiculous he looks. Shannon calls Hurricane a joke and then leaves the ring.

-The announcers note that the Rock isn’t here tonight because of the beating he took from Brock Lesnar but he will be back on Raw.

-Up next is Jaime Noble taking on Rey Mysterio Jr. for the WWE Cruserweight Title in a rematch from Vengeance. The announcers talk about what we saw between Tajiri and Nidia earlier tonight. We get a great 9-minute match in this one. In the end Tajiri comes out and tries to help Noble. The announcers guess that he’s repaying Nidia for earlier tonight. Rey Mysterio Jr. fights him off and throws him out of the ring. Rey then hits a 450 splash and gets the win on Noble, retaining the cruserweight title. After the match, Nidia and Noble berate Tajiri for screwing up. Tajiri has enough and hits a karate kick on Noble. Tajiri then runs off as Nidia checks on Noble.

COMMERCIAL

-Team Canada is hanging out and gloating about how they destroyed Edge and Triple H at Vengeance. Jericho says that he’s meeting with Benoit later tonight. John Cena walks up. He asks them if they’re proud of the 4 on 1 beatdown they gave him at Vengeance. Jericho says they are. Cena says that he may be new but he’s not going to take any bullshit from anyone whether it be Jericho, Kurt Angle, Chris Benoit, Triple H or anyone else. Cena says that it doesn’t matter how many times he gets beat down because he’ll keep coming back until he earns the respect of the WWE fans and the WWE superstars. Team Canada seems shocked by his comments. The announcers put him over as a kid with a lot of pride. Cena then challenges Jericho, asking him if he could beat him one on one instead of four on one. Jericho accepts.

-Edge is shown hanging out in the dressing room. Triple H walks in. He asks him if he’s sore after Vengeance. Edge says yeah. Triple H says he is too and he’s pissed off about it. They end up blaming each other for the debacle against Team Canada. Triple H then nails Edge and the two end up brawling. Officials arrive and pull them apart.

-A limo pulls up in the parking lot. Vince McMahon gets out! He makes his way inside looking pissed as hell.

COMMERCIAL

-Hour two kicks off with comments from the chairman, Vince McMahon. He is livid after what happened at Vengeance. He talks about how he devised a great plan that would result in Hulk Hogan being embarrassed but it was screwed up. Vince then calls out Randy Orton. He lashes into the kid for failing him. Vince calls him a nobody. He says that Orton will always be a nobody and he proved it at Vengeance. Vince then fires Randy Orton! Randy walks away as the announcers say that McMahon is going too far. Hulk Hogan’s music then hits! Vince takes his jacket off and throws it down. He motions for Hogan to come get some. Hulk then runs out of the crowd and attacks Vince from behind! Hulk hits the big boot followed by the big legdrop! Hogan then celebrates as the crowd goes crazy.

COMMERCIAL

-A recap is shown of Vince’s interview and the attack by Hogan. Officials are tending to McMahon backstage. McMahon is absolutely livid and screams that he will kill Hogan.

-The Island Boys defend the tag team titles against Test and Christian next. The announcers go over how Test/Christian won the #1 contenders match against Billy and Chuck at Vengeance. We get 7-minutes of hard-fought action. The Island Boys take the clean win when Ekmo gets the pin on Test after a big sit-down powerbomb. After the match, Billy, Chuck, and Rico come onto the stage. They make fun of the Island Boys. Chuck says that they look like they just came out of a zoo. Ekmo and Kimo are about to give chase but Christian and Test attack them from behind with the tag belts and leave them lying. Billy, Chuck, and Rico leave the stage, laughing.

COMMERCIAL

-Backstage, Triple H is in his locker room. He’s worked up after the brawl with Edge. Lance Storm walks in. He gloats about putting Triple H in the Walls of Jericho. He says that Triple H lost to Storm a week ago on Smackdown and then he and Edge were destroyed at Vengeance. Triple H restrains himself from attacking Storm and challenges him to a match anywhere and at anytime. Storm says he’ll think about it.

-Bautista is in action as he takes on his former associate, Reverend D’Von. Before the match, Bautista gets on the mike and says that he’s tired of being a joke. His name isn’t Bautista and he’s not a deacon. His name is Leviathon and he’s here to kick some ass. Leviathon destroys D’Von in 4 minutes and gets a big win.

-Backstage, Chris Jericho meets with Chris Benoit. He welcomes him home and says that Team Canada welcomes him with open arms. Benoit says that he wants nothing to do with Team Canada or Jericho. Jericho says that he thinks Benoit will change his mind.

COMMERCIAL

-Chris Jericho goes one on one with John Cena next. Jericho really takes it Cena but Cena shows tons of heart throughout the match. He keeps getting back up and the announcers really put him over. Jericho proves to be too much, however, as he puts Cena away with the Walls of Jericho. Afterwards, Jericho gets on the mike and brags about how he kicked Edge's ass at Vengeance and how sweet it was when he locked him in the Walls of Jericho. This leads to Edge running out. They brawl for a minute before Jericho bails and backs up the ramp.

-Backstage, Chris Benoit walks to the ring. Benoit vs. Triple H is next!

COMMERCIAL

Chris Benoit vs. Triple H goes a good 11 minutes. Kurt Angle is on commentary for this match. At one point, Hunter is on the outside when Lance Storm runs out and smashes a chair over his head. The referee and Chris Benoit don’t see it. Benoit then drags Triple H back in, hits the swandive headbutt and gets the pin. Cole and Tazz note that the attack by Storm was probably a way for Team Canada to pursued Benoit to join. Smackdown goes off the air with Benoit and Angle exchanging words.

WWE Monday Night Raw – 7/29/02

LIVE from Greensboro, North Carolina

-We cut straight to the Raw opening video followed by the fireworks display, etc.

-The show opens with Undertaker cutting an interview. His message is short and to the point – he wants any member of the nWo in the ring and he wants them right now. Nash, Big Show, and X-Pac come out onto the stage. Nash says that HBK and Guerrero are running late but should be here shortly. He offers the Undertaker not 1 but 2 members of the nWo – X-Pac and Big Show in a handicap match. Undertaker agrees and waves them on.

-Undertaker takes on Big Show and X-Pac for the opening match. Taker starts off strong but is soon overwhelmed by the odds. At the end, however, Taker stages a comeback. He hits a chockslam on X-Pac followed by a chockslam on Big Show that shakes the ring. Taker covers Big Show and gets the win. Nash then runs down and brawls with Taker. Taker gets the best of it for a while but Show/X-Pac recover and the 3 on 1 beatdown ensues. Nash then gives Taker two Jackknife Powerbombs. The nWo leaves while the Undertaker looks to be in pretty bad condition.

COMMERCIAL

-Backstage, Shawn Michaels and Eddie Guerrero arrive. The Coach catches up with them and asks Guerrero why he joined the nWo. HE says that the nWo is the most powerful group in history and with them watching his back he can reach new levels of success in WWE. HBK says that the group needed some new blood so he went out and got one of the most talented young stars in the business today. HBK promises to guide Guerrero’s career in the right path and make him a superstar. Then, Nash, Big Show, and X-Pac walk in. They tell HBK about what they just did to Undertaker and HBK gives them props. Nash officially welcomes Eddie Guerrero into the group and tells him that he must pass his initiation tonight when he faces Ric Flair. Eddie says that he will retire Flair’s ass.

-Up next is D’Lo Brown defending the WWE US title in a triple threat match against Jeff Hardy and Matt Hardy. The announcers go over the bad blood between the Hardy brothers stemming from Matt turning on Jeff and helping D’Lo win the US title at Vengeance. It goes 8 minutes and the story of the match is a 2 on 1 attack with Matt/D’Lo against Jeff. Every time D’Lo goes for a cover, however, Matt pulls him off and tries to cover Jeff by himself. D’Lo has enough and attacks Matt. He hits sit-down powerbombs on both Hardyz and then hits the Frog Splash on Matt for the victory. Afterwards, D’Lo gloats over both men until Bradshaw runs out and hits him with the clothesline from hell. Bradshaw holds the US title up in victory before throwing it back at D’Lo and leaving the ring.

-Backstage, Ric Flair and RVD walk to the ring. RVD defends the IC title NEXT!

COMMERCIAL

-William Regal steps up to the plate as he challenges RVD for the IC title. Flair is on commentary and really puts RVD over as the future of the business. Pretty good match that goes 8 minutes. RVD gets the clean win with the ***** frog splash. RVD then gets on the mike. HE says that he was pissed off after last week when the n.W.o put a mass beatdown on himself and Ric Flair. RVD says that tonight Flair will teach Eddie Guerrero a thing or two and he will be out there to watch Flair’s back. Ric then gets on the mike and promises to show Eddie why he’s a legend.

-Backstage, The Rock is interviewed. He talks about his match with Booker T and promises to take him out just like he did at last year’s SummerSlam. Rock then comments about the attack by Brock Lesnar last week. He says that no matter how many times Brock attacks him from behind it won’t change the fact that Rock is coming after his ass at SummerSlam.

COMMERCIAL

-Backstage, Booker T is interviewed. He talks about how Goldust turned his back on him last week and joined Raven's’ Flock. Book says that he always knew Goldust was a freak and now he’s hanging out with a bunch of freaks. Booker promises to win the Undisputed Title tonight and then take care of Goldust.

-Next up is Raven taking on Bubba Ray Dudley. Stasiak accompanies Raven. Goldust isn’t with them and the announcers speculate on where he might be. A good match that goes 8 minutes. Raven gets the win at the end with the Evenflow. Afterwards, Stasiak grabs a chair and wraps it around Bubba’s head three times. Bubba is busted open as Raven and Stasiak leave.

-Backstage, Rock walks to the ring. Booker T vs. Rock for the undisputed title is NEXT!

COMMERCIAL

-Hour two kicks off with the big title match. Rock and Booker T go at it tooth and nail in what turns out to be a good 13-minute match. In the end, Booker has the advantage and the announcer pimp the fact that we might see a new WWE champ shortly. Booker hits a missile dropkick from the top for a near-fall. Book then sets up for a BookEnd. All of a sudden, Raven and Stasiak run down the ramp and distract the referee. Then, Goldust runs out of the crowd. He has a bit of a different look that fits for his membership in the Flock (I’ll leave that up to the WWE costume department.) Goldust lays out Booker from behind and hits the Curtain Call. Goldust then jumps out as Raven/Stasiak back up the ramp. Rock (not knowing what happened) hits the People’s Elbow and gets the win.

COMMMERCIAL

-Molly Holly and Jackie Gayda come to the ring. Molly grabs a mike and makes an open challenge to anyone in the back for them to step up and take a shot at her Women’s Title. The challenge is quickly answered by Jazz, who makes her return after a two-month hiatus. This one goes 4 minutes with Jazz getting the DQ win after Jackie breaks a pitcher filled with water over Jazz’s head. After the match, Molly and Jackie beat on Jazz until Trish runs out and actually saves Jazz.

COMMERCIAL

-Backstage, Raven and his Flock are interview. Goldust does most of the talking. He says that he tried to be Booker T’s friend but Booker treated him like crap. He says that he turned to a real family in the Flock. Raven then promises to destroy any enemies of the Flock. Booker the runs up and attacks the Flock but officials arrive to separate them.

-Backstage, Ric Flair (w/RVD) walk to the ring. HBK runs up out of nowhere and smashes a chair over RVD’s head. HBK runs off as a shocked Flair checks on RVD.

-Backstage, Paul Heyman arrives. More importantly, he’s here alone.

COMMERCIAL

-Backstage, officials are tending to a busted open RVD.

-Ric Flair takes on Eddie Guerrero in the main event. We get 12 minutes of great action. RVD isn’t with Flair after the attack by HBK. HBK, however, is in Eddie Guerrero’s corner and interferes constantly. At one point, Flair drags him in the ring and roughs him up a bit. Flair then locks in the Figure Four on HBK but Eddie Guerrero comes off the top rope with a big frog splash. HBK rolls out of the ring as Eddie gets the cover and the pin. Afterwards, HBK and Guerrero beat on Flair. HBK then grabs a mike yells at Flair. He says that Flair isn’t looking like a legend now. HBK says that Flair was always jealous of him because HBK really did live the wheelin’ dealin’, kiss stealin’ life that Flair only talked about. RVD then runs out (head bandaged up) but HBK and Guerrero quickly beat him down. HBK and Guerrero walk off leaving RVD and Flair for dead.

-Backstage, we see Paul Heyman walking to the ring. The announcers speculate on why he’s coming out here.

COMMERCIAL

-Paul Heyman comes out to the ring. The announcers don’t know why he’s out here. Heyman says that Lesnar isn’t here tonight but Heyman felt the need to come out here and address the Rock. He asks the Rock to come out to the ring. A few seconds go by before Rock comes back out looking intrigued. He’s got the Undisputed title with him. Paul says that he’s glad Lesnar dropped Rock on his head last week because maybe it will knock some sense into Rock. Paul says that the Rock you see on WWE TV is the same Rock that you see backstage. Paul says that Rock is a self-centered egomaniac on and off-screen. Paul says that Rock thinks he’s a big Hollywood superstar now and he’s too good for wrestling. Heyman says that Rock thinks he’s too good for the boys in the back and he’s to good for these fans. He says that Rock thinks he can go off for five months and then come back and be head and shoulders above everyone else. Heyman says that no matter what Rock thinks, he’s not bigger than the wrestling business and the wrestling business will not wait for him. Heyman says that while Rock was out being a big star in Hollywood a new WWE superstar was born and that was the Next Big Thing Brock Lesnar and Brock. And Brock will not allow Rock to come back for a month and steel Brock’s thunder. Heyman takes his hat off and throws it at Rock. Paul says that when Triple H went down with a quad injury last year and WWE needed star power Rock was out making movies. He didn’t come back to the company that made him in their time of need. He was just looking out for himself. Paul puts over Peter Maivia and Rocky Johnson, saying they were real athletes and great men. But that obviously doesn’t run in the blood as Rock has pissed on their legacy. Paul says that Rock is a self-centered son of a bitch and he hopes that he never sees him in a wrestling ring again. Paul says that Rock doesn’t even deserve to be in a wrestling ring anymore. Paul says that Rock makes him sick and at SummerSlam, Brock Lesnar will rid the WWE of this ungrateful piece of s*it. The announcers are hush and the crowd is shocked by Paul’s comments. Rock seems more shocked than anyone else. Rock then grabs the mike and tells Heyman to bring this message to Brock Lesnar. Rock hooks him in for the Rock Bottom but Lesnar runs out of the crowd and nails Rock from behind! It was a setup! Lesnar hits two F5’s laying Rock out. Heyman screams at the fallen Rock. Lesnar then grabs the Undisputed belt and holds it up to huge heat. Raw goes off the air with Lesnar holding the WWE title high in the air as Heyman yells at a fallen Rock.

Great stuff mate.

Still not sure about Guerreo being in the NWO, but I'm liking that The Undertaker seems to have turned face in order to feud with them.

The Rock and Brock Lesnar feud is going well.

Like The Flock and Booker T feud that is brewing.

Both brands are great mate. Keep up the good work.
