CastleVania: Symphony of the Night

Recommended Posts

Guest Sebastian_the_Bastard

I've had this game for awhile and have played it through about six times. Well, I played my friend's copy for a little bit and got hooked and started playing it again. I started Monday and it's now Friday. I haven't played it since Wednesday. So from Mon-Wed, I have 14 hours logged in. I made it a point to get EVERYTHING this time. Here's what I've done...

199.2%

All relics

Sword Familiar - level 99

Rare items: Crissaegram (2) (BEST WEAPON IN GAME - Kill Schmoo's in Inverted Library), Heaven Sword (2), Ring of Varda (2), Runesword (2) (MUST HAVE!!! Kill Dodo Birds at the entrance of the Inverted castle)

If anyone wants to chat about this game, reply or give me your Yahoo, MSN, or AOL/AIM name.

Yes sir, I am addicted.

Love,

Sebastian the Bastard

Yeah... this game is really cool... did you play the GBA Castlevania game? I played it for a little while, but then stopped for some reason. I don't think I ever beat Symphony of the Night.

Actually the check out the new on Harmony of Dissonance if you got a GBA emu. Aside from the fact that the graphics are not as good as Symphony of the Night and right now the only thing available is the japanese version, it is really fun and is very close to Symphony of the Night. I can not wait for the American version.

Ahh yes... I also got the AxeLord Armor. That thing is fun to mess around in.

Yeah, I really should play through that game again.

I think I got up to about 194.2%, with a Crissaegram, Runesword and two Rings of Varda on my best file. I'm really bad at finding all the hidden rooms in games like that though, so I eventually gave up.

Crissaegram rocks out.

My only complaint about this game... too easy. There are so many weapons/items/relics you can get to breeze through the game. Gas Cloud relic, Crissaegram sword, two Ring of Vardas, Duplicator. But, hell, you have to earn all of those things for the most part. I guess I'm just said that there's nothing left for me to do in such a great game ;) ;)

Yeah, C:SotN really needs an Emerald/Ruby type enemy. The minotaur is mildly challenging when you just run into him the first time, but other than that you can beat anything easily with just the Alucard set, which makes getting Crissaegrams and Rings of Varda kind of pointless, except for the coolness factor. It would be nice if there was something really hard to test yourself against.

Well, beating the game with Richter isn't exactly a breeze.

True, but it also wasn't really enjoyable. It felt kind of thrown together at the last minute. More fun to just play through it over and over with Alucard. :)
