If it was based on ratings then the original Star Trek should be on there because its ratings weren't all too hot either.

Note: I LIKE Star Trek

You know, now that I think about it, thats a good point, where is Star Trek and other 60's cheezy network sci-fi (Lost In Space is another great example) Stuff like that, which only lasted a few years (BTW TNG landed on their 50 best despite their first two seasons being comparable to the junk sci-fi that most of the bad ST and LIS episodes were, maybe worse but they picked up the quality from season 3 on) so for the most part the episodes were just pure, unmitigated, preachy crap

Yeah...why isn't That 80's Show on there, but Hogan's Heroes is?!

Hogan Heroes is an amazing show.

1. The Jerry Springer Show (syndicated, 1991-present)

Probably done to appease all those who despise the whole Springer/Cops/ect shows that shine lights on the white trash of the world

2. My Mother The Car (NBC, 1965-66)

Always is listed amongst the worst of alltime, there are worst concepts out there though

3. XFL (NBC, UPN and TNN, 2001)

Exactly HOW does this count as a "SHOW" by the same token MLB's "Baseball Network" (NBC, ESPN, ABC 1994 (I think) ) should rank as the ultimate turkey in the history of sports broadcasting over the XFL. They probably wanted to bash wrestling but probably didn't know the full names of shows like "Monday Night Nitro" or "Thursday Night Thunder" or didn't know what to call "Monday Night Raw/Raw Is War/Raw Is War-Warzone/Raw"

4. The Brady Bunch Hour (ABC, 1977)

I give the nod to the original crap fest

5. Hogan's Heroes (CBS, 1965-71)

Probably they needed one show to represent the awful but popular crap from that era (Green Acres, Beverly Hillbillies, Gilligan's Island, ect) and picked the one with the least vocal fans

6. Celebrity Boxing (Fox, 2002-present)

I'll by this because its not centered around a league the way the Baseball Network and the XFL were so it is an actual TV show

7. AfterMASH (CBS, 1983-84)

One of the worst sequels ever made

8. Cop Rock (ABC, 1990)

Please don't remind people!

9. You're in the Picture (CBS, 1961)

Never saw this, or heard of it

10. Hee Haw Honeys (syndicated, 1978-79)

Note, Kathie Lee Gifford got her start on TV with it, that alone probably puts it in the top-ten

11. The Secret Diary of Desmond Pfeiffer (UPN, 1998)

12. Hello Larry (NBC, 1979-80)

Desmond was awful, never heard of Hello Larry

13. Twenty-One (NBC, 1956-58)

I may be thinking of something else, but wasn't this the game show that started the quiz show scandals? That makes it historic but not bad

14. Baby Bob (CBS, 2002-present)

I can think of many worst explotive shows over the years, Full House comes to mind actually

15. Manimal (NBC, 1983)

Know how I said there were worst concepts than My Mother The Car, well this ranks up there. Falls under, "How in the BLUEST OF HELLS did this get past the pitch?"

16. The Chevy Chase Show (Fox, 1993)

One of the worst talkers period and to think critics actullay gave HIM a chance to outlast Jay, Dave and Arsenio to take over Carson's throne

17. Casablanca (NBC, 1983)

18. The Ugliest Girl in Town (ABC, 1968-69)

Never saw or heard of, TELL me Casablanca was not a sequel of the movie

19. The P.T.L. Club (syndicated, 1976-87)

20. The Pruitts of Southampton (ABC, 1966-67)

PTL? Never heard of the Pruitts either, you know just because a show lasted one season or so doesn't mean it deserves all-time turkey mention but I'll take their word on it on some of these

21. Baywatch (NBC and syndicated, 1989-2001)

Come to think of it, it really was a one-note show add to the fact that they had great looking people on it for both sexes to view as a gulity pleasure

22. The Powers of Matthew Star (NBC, 1982-83)

23. Sammy and Company (syndicated, 1975-77)

24. One of the Boys (NBC, 1982)

Is Sammy Sammy Davis? Again though I haven't heard of these shows, BTW alot of these shows were on NBC late 70's-early 80's, really shows you how far a network can fall, and how quickly they can rebuild to dynasty type levels

25. Who Wants to Marry a Multi-Millionaire? (Fox, 2000)

Considering the crap afterwards it should be higher, in fact this is the ONLY "reality" game show from this era that is on the list, very strange, yeah I know it's HOT but still

26. Life with Lucy (ABC, 1986)

27. Turn-On (ABC, 1969)

28. Supertrain (NBC, 1979)

Like I said, its not nessecarily fair to lump shows that barely made it through half a season on a top 50 worst list simply because people just haven't heard of most of them. Unless they debuted to such hype or just have stupid premises. This list should more honor (or dishonor as the case may be) shows that defied logic with their staying power (i.e. Gilliagan's. Beverly Hillbillies, Married...With Children, ect) or stuff that had so much retinkering untill the network just said the hell with it (Jesse)

29. Howard Stern (E!, 1994-present)

Fair enough, but I'm sure I can find other likewise horrid programing were a radio guy thought they could take the best things from his show and make it on TV (Rush Limbaugh and Dr. Laura to be specific)

30. Unhappily Ever After (WB, 1995-99)

31. Homeboys in Outer Space (UPN, 1996-97)

Only 2 from the WB and UPN? And none regular TV shows from FOX? Considering they let alot of shows that barely made it through a season they should have had a few more from the still fledgling bottom three networks

32. Co-Ed Fever (CBS, 1979)

33. Holmes & Yoyo (ABC, 1976)

34. Alexander the Great (ABC, 1968)

35. Pink Lady...and Jeff (NBC, 1980)

36. The Misadventures of Sheriff Lobo (NBC, 1979-81)

Again don't know but they sound bad

37. Saturday Night Live with Howard Cosell (ABC, 1975-76)

You know they don't have as many failed talk/varitey shows as they should have, i.e. where is Pat Sajak? How about the post Craig Kinnear Later, ect

38. Hell Town (NBC, 1985)

?

39. Still the Beaver (Disney Channel, 1985-86)

They should also have more spinoffs on this list as well, there have not been a more sadder state of bad TV ideas than spinning off from classic shows

40. Makin' It (ABC, 1979)

Don't know

41. The Tom Green Show (MTV, 1999-2000)

They list Tom Green but not Jackass? Or The Man Show? I agree with the person that said it might be due to his movie bombing so he is no longer "hot"

42. The Flying Nun (ABC, 1967-70)

See, THIS is what I meant by a show with some popularity despite its utter stupidity being put on this list

43. Woops! (Fox, 1992)

44. She's the Sheriff (syndicated, 1987-89)

45. A.K.A. Pablo (ABC, 1984)

46. Me and the Chimp (CBS, 1972)

47. Rango (ABC, 1967)

48. Bless this House (CBS, 1995-96)

Again don't know

49. The Ropers (ABC, 1979-80)

Another classic bomb of a spinoff

50. Barney & Friends (PBS, 1992-present)

You know, just because he is considered one of Satan's Spawns doesn't make his show the worst kiddie show of all time. I can probably list 50 Sat. morning cartoons/live action shows that are worse, and can probably do the same with some of the crap Nickelodeon or other PBS kiddie show has put out over the years

Guest What?

"same thing with tom green. offensive or not, the man has an enormous talent for making people laugh by making other people uncomfortable, and those first 5 or 6 episodes on mtv were some of the funniest television i'd ever seen in my life. tom green only stopped being funny when he stopped having straight men to play off of (i.e., people in the street who didn't know who he was)."

WTF? "Enormous Talent for making people laugh by making others uncomfortable?" That's not a talent, that's just being a dick. None of his segments were funny (except for the MTV cruise one. THAT made me laugh), and what he did to his parents, with the statues of them having sex, and what he did to the people in his audience when he took them home? HE is the single luckiest fuck I have ever seen. MTV just picked up his P.O.S. show because they needed filler.

The Tom Green Show doesn't measure up to even ONE of Bam Margera's segments in CKY

Hasslehoff cross-dressing? Ye Gods...

Honestly, I don't even bother with TV Guide anymore because they have constantly proved they are insufferable idiots.

I gotta agree with you fully on that one APO. TV Guide should be just that - a guide for what is on TV (and they don't even do that very well anymore). Their articles are either incredibly biased, total brown-nosing to producers, or just stupid (really, what's with the recent break-ups/make-ups article? Are they trying to best the Enquirer? Who the hell cares anyway?).

tom green sucked back when he wasn't on mtv. i have seen many shows from the comedy network and the shit just isn't funny. i'm glad his 15 appear to be over. if there's any justice in the world he will go broke and have to live in his parents basement.

Yea, I don't like Tom Green either, but to say he's really one of the 50 worst TV shows EVER? I think there are worse "gross-out" shows than his, on the same network as his too.
