Guest Sebastian_the_Bastard Report post Posted July 14, 2002 THIS BAND IS FUCKING AWESOME!!!!!! I just got done listening to Wither Blister Burn + Peel and that CD blows me away, with one song especially; "What Do I Have To Do?" Simply amazing. Mad props to Stabbing Westward. Love, Sebastian the Bastard
Guest Cerebus The Aardvark Report post Posted July 14, 2002 Their albums Ungod and Darkest Days are MUCH better, IMO. WBB&P is just kinda bland to me. Although "Why" is a great song.

Guest Sebastian_the_Bastard Report post Posted July 14, 2002 Their albums Ungod and Darkest Days are MUCH better, IMO. No doubt that Darkest Days is a very amazing album. Love, Sebastian the Bastard
Guest M Nyland Report post Posted July 14, 2002 I am definitely a fan of Stabbing Westward...my friend turned me on to them and I couldn't stop listening to them for a week or so
Guest red_file Report post Posted July 14, 2002 Their albums Ungod and Darkest Days are MUCH better, IMO. Strange. I always found Ungod and Darkest Days unfocused in comparison to Wither Blister Burn & Peel. All of the songs on WBBP seemed to revolve around the same concept of obession, while songs on the other albums seemed to have a more random approach. Which is not to say that the other albums are not good, far from it, just that I enjoyed that one better.
Guest redbaron51 Report post Posted July 14, 2002 Stabbing Westward... decent... but the pussy side of industrial (if you want to call them that)
Guest Sebastian_the_Bastard Report post Posted July 14, 2002 Stabbing Westward... decent... but the pussy side of industrial (if you want to call them that) Industrial? Hell, I just consider them straight up rock. Love, Sebastian the Bastard
Guest redbaron51 Report post Posted July 14, 2002 Industrial? Hell, I just consider them straight up rock. Love, Sebastian the Bastard we have a genius! thank you for actually saying Stabbing Westward is rock, i've had many people say they are straight industrial, but you...rock. ya... *shakes bastard's hand*
Guest Respect The 'Taker Report post Posted July 15, 2002 Pity Stabbing Westward BROKE UP due to lack of record sales and band tension...oh the cold hand of fate... Check out "So Far Away", pretty wicked song right there. But as for originality? I don't think Westward break any boundaries...NIN all over again if you ask me. Its a bird Its a plane Its TAKER MAN! This has been the Taker Mark
Guest swan Report post Posted July 15, 2002 Stabbing Westward formed at Western Illinois University in Macomb. There is a little musical trivia no one else will ever get right. Too bad the broke up, got to catch them live once.
Guest swan Report post Posted July 15, 2002 I was just digging through my desk to find a CD to listen and what do I come across, SW "Wither, Blister, Burn, & Peel" I love "I Don't Believe".
Guest converge241 Report post Posted July 15, 2002 its too bad they broke up, but the self titled album sucked ass the order of the quality, IMODO: Ungod Darkest Days Whither Blister Burn and Peel self titled (way down the list) saw them a bunch of times live and got to sing "I Dont Believe" onstage @ Babyhead and The Strand in RI.. always got hooked up due to friends and dating a girl in radio best show ever was with God Lives Underwater..just unbelieveable.. once Chris stopped writing every song about amy , it was all over at least he ahd 3 albums about same girl as opposed to trent (prety hate) lol
Guest Zack Malibu Report post Posted July 15, 2002 best show ever was with God Lives Underwater..just unbelieveable.. Awesome show, the one in summer of '98 at Lupo's, right? I live just outside of Providence, so everytime Westward hit the area, I was there. I've mentioned Stabbing Westward in threads before, so I was pretty happy to see a whole thread devoted to them (shockingly by someone OTHER than me, lol) I got into them in early '96, when What Do I Have To Do started getting airplay. It was funny, because at the time I was chasing after this girl, and my whole attitude was "OK, so what do I have to do?" Then the song comes out, I relate to it...run out and buy the CD the day it comes out. WDIHTD is a great song, but I fell in love with Shame as soon as I heard it. To this day, I count it on the list of my favorite songs ever. And I honestly believe that Wither Blister Burn and Peel is one of the best CD's I own, maybe not necessarily for the content based on "critiques", but for the fact that I can listen to it straight through, without skipping a song. Ungod is a damn good CD, as is Darkest Days. The last release, the self-titled album, didn't impress me much, though So Far Away and Wasted are two really good songs. I had hopes of them coming to the area again after that album was released, as they seemingly always hit Providence on their tours at least once. Now I'll have to wait to see if any of the songs they worked on get released as solo projects, etc.
Guest Sandman9000 Report post Posted July 15, 2002 I don't know why, but I really like the song "Sometimes It Hurts."
Guest Zack Malibu Report post Posted July 15, 2002 Another awesome song. I actually managed to tape the video off of a short lived channel called Access. Midgets dancing in construction outfits=hilarity!
Guest swan Report post Posted July 15, 2002 Another awesome song. I actually managed to tape the video off of a short lived channel called Access. Midgets dancing in construction outfits=hilarity! Is it me or do midgets dressed up make any situation funnier. My best friend claims he is going to have midgets ride down the asile at his wedding on tricycles. I honestly wouldn't put it past him. I once partied with a midget at a bar in Madision, WI. She was all fucked up and dancing on the bar. I about shit my pants I was laughing so hard.
Guest Zack Malibu Report post Posted July 15, 2002 The video had a twisted Wizard of Oz vibe to it (Chris finding a red shoe, midgets, house wreckage from a storm), but it was a bunch of midgets doing a line dance in orange construction outfits with hardhats on...just really freakin' funny. Guest evenflowDDT Report post Posted July 16, 2002 I've heard a few Stabbing Westward songs. I certainly wouldn't call them industrial either, but I liked the songs. As for little people... another thing I just don't understand the appeal of. I remember back when I watched MTV I saw Blink 182 perform and they had a bunch of little people strung up from the ceiling and everyone I talked to the next day thought it was so funny just because it was midgets hung from a string. I thought it was insulting...
Guest Vyce Report post Posted July 16, 2002 I love SW. Have all of their albums. I *would* consider them industrial, but kind of industrial-lite. I've enjoyed all of their albums, but the last was a chore. It wasn't that bad, but it was a departure from the sound that made them so damn good. Sorry to see them break up. Next you'll be telling me Gravity Kills is no longer together...
