Guest Trivia247 Report post Posted July 14, 2002 -A good night of wrestling action. The night opened with Dean Hill announcing that there will be a cruiserweight title match next friday night at the final Six Flags Super Summer Sizzlin' Series OVW show featuring Hurricane vs. Jamie Knoble w/ Nidia. -Chris Cage vs. Seven w/ Synn -A decent opener, Cage went for the crossbody early on with Seven catching Cage in mid air Seven dominated most of the match choking Cage down to the mat continuing the assault with a hard slap to the back of the OVW Rookie. At one point in the match Cage started to make a comeback, as he even pulled off a top rope flying cross body, only to get a two count. Seven eventually caught the flying rookie in mid air moments later and landed him down hard with a big powerbomb to pick up the three count and the win. -Winner via pinfall Seven -David Flair vs. Travis Bain -Travis Bain opened up with kicks to the mid section of Flair. Flair although came back with some decent chops to Bain, signaling the "WOOO" chant from the OVW crowd. Flair continued the chops on Bain into the corner, but Bain took full advantage of his ten count as he rolled out of the ring catching his breath. Bain eventually made his way back in, and the two went at it again. Flair went for a Figure four, but Bain kicked him away, almost immediately. The two went at it back and forth trading punches and chops and Flair managed to pull off an atomic drop, but he was no match for newcomer Travis Bain who managed to catch David in his move where he stretches David Flair over his back while standing and dropped him to get the pinfall. -Winner via pinfall Travis Bain -Kanyon vs. John "Prototype" Cena w/ Kenny "the King" Bolin -The match opened off with Kanyon working on the arm of Cena. Kanyon continued his attack with a huge hiptoss to Cena, as the Louisville crowd loudly chanted "Alter Boy" at Cena. Kanyon continued with a backbreaker, following by setting Cena in the corner for ten big punches. After the series of punches in the corner Kanyon came down delivering a very nice bulldog. After Prototype took down Kanyon with a drop toe hold, he decided he'd go and distract the ref as his manager Kenny "the King" Bolin choked Kanyon violently across the bottom rope. After this Cena was able to get the headlock strongly applied, into the sleeper hold onto Kanyon, as the crowd attempted to revive him. Kanyon started to come back with two elbows followed by going off the ropes, but was only met by a hard knee to the gut by Cena. Cena continued his assault on Kanyon with a very long and nice stalling Suplex, in the middle of the ring. The match continued as Cena lost his offensive advantage after Kanyon reversed a hiptoss into a swinging neckbreaker and at one point, hit his finish the Flatliner. Unfortunately for Kanyon, Cena somehow managed to kick out at two. Prototype then tried to get in the cheap pinfall with his feet on the ropes, but the ref saw his feet and forced him to break the pin. Kanyon eventually pulled off the Flatliner again to Cena but the ref was distracted by Kenny Bolin at this point, and was unable to make the three count. Kanyon then got up, obviously upset and went to punch Kenny Bolin who was on the ring apron. Although this served as a good distraction for Cena who was getting up from the flatliner as he managed to roll up Kanyon with the schoolboy and recieve the three count and the victory. -Winner via pinfall John "Prototype" Cena -Next Jim Cornette made his way down to the ring and got on the mic stating that next friday night Hurricane will be taking on Jamie Knoble in a Cruiserweight Title match and Nidia will be in Knobles corner. He then told the crowd that Nidia has obviously changed since leaving OVW and Nidia would come to the ring and give an explanation as to why. Nidia came down to the ring, dressed in her WWE Smackdown! "Redneck Ho" attire and explained to the crowd that the way she acted while in Louisville was all an act, and that the woman you see now, is the real her. Nidia then went on to call everyone in attendance trash as she skipped off to the back. -Shelton Benjamin & Redd Dogg vs. Trash & Flash OVW SOUTHERN TAG TITLE MATCH -Redd Dogg and Flash opened off with a big tie up, but Flash decided to roll out of the ring, stalling to gain his composure. Flash then took some offense, but Redd Dogg came back with a flying shoulder tackle, and tagged in Shelton. Shelton opened off his attack on Flash with a quick armdrag and coninued to work on the arm of Flash. Eventually Redd Dogg and Trash made their way in and Trash layed into Redd Dogg with some serious chops. Once Shelton was tagged back in he was isolated by the two, until he kicked his way out as Flash had Shelton's leg, he turned him around, but Shelton came back with a very loud and impressive spinkick that got a great reaction from the Six Flags crowd. Trash and Flash pulled off the double team bulldog on Shelton, which eventually followed by a missed Lionsault by Flash which allowed for Redd dogg to be tagged in. Dogg pulled off a "BubbaBomb" on Flash, followed by a double team Back body drop and a running powerslam by Dogg. Dogg went for the pinfall but Trash ran into the ring and hit Shelton hard with a pair of brass knuckles right in front of the ref, forcing the ref to call for the bell disqualifying Flash and Trash. Considering Flash and Trash lost via DQ they still retained the Tag Team titles as they sprinted to the back away from Dogg and Benjamin who were outraged. -Winners via DQ Redd Dogg & Shelton Benjamin -Damaja w/ Queen Victoria vs. Rob Conway w/ Sensational Sherry Martel -Oveall a good match with the crowd really laying it into Damaja to start, as well as showing their support for Sherry Martel with a "Sherry" chant. Damaja opened off with a kick to the midsection of Conway, he then went for a springboard cross body, but missed as Conway rolled out of the way. The two brawled back and forth as Conway whipped Damaja into the ropes where Sherry Martel was standing, Damaja was tripped down to the canvas by Sherry and Conway delivered a nice crescent kick when Damaja got to his feet, but only managed to pull off a two count. The two eventually took the match outside of the ring, as referee Ray Ramsey attempted to bring it back into the ring, but the two continued to brawl. Damaja went for a chair and almost hit Conway with it, but fortunately for the "Ironman", Conway rolled out of the way and Damaja hit the ring post extremely hard with the chair. Eventually the match was took back into the ring, as Damaja managed to work on Conways arm, in different submissions, really wrenching on Conway's arm. Sensational Sherry Martel really worked up the crowd, as Conway fought out of the hold and delivered a nice back elbow out of the corner, followed by the Brain Damaj (Damaja's finishing move) but Victoria got on the ring apron and attempted to interfere in the match but Sherry Martel ran over and pulled her down to the ground, which distracted the ref. Eventually as Martel was walking to her corner and was distracted by the ref Victoria was able to get in a low blow on Conway, but Martel fought back against the ref and refused to let him count, distracting him as well. Conway then managed to pull off his finish the neckbreaker and pick up the pinfall and the win. -Winner via pinfall Rob Conway -Christian w/ Kenny Bolin & John "Prototype" Cena vs. Nova OVW HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE MATCH -Prototype opened off on the mic and talked about how he wanted a rematch against Nova for the OVW Title, but Jim Cornette refused to give it to him, and how he brought in his fellow WWE Smackdown! friend Christian to beat Nova for the title. Bolin then got on the mic and stated that Christian was the $15,000 insurance policy, thanks to the financial help of Mark Cuban. Christian then got on the mic and told everyone how sick America made him. He said that after he stepped off of Mark Cuban's private jet, there were Americans lined up chanting "USA". He continued to rip on America until Nova made his entrance. After Nova was introduced to the ring, Jim Cornette got on the mic and stated that since Bolin had a manager's license, he was allowed to stay at ringside, but since Prototype did not have one, he had to leave the ringside area, and he had a person from the Kentucky State Athletic commission there to enforce it. He stated that Prototype had a ten count, and for every second that Prototype stayed out there he would fine Bolin $1000. Prototype then stormed to the back. The two started out trying to gain the upperhand working and reversing on each others arms. Eventually after a few shows, Nova was able to gain the arm of WWE Star Christian, and wrenched on it, followed by delivering a nice flying headscissors. Nova was then taken down hard by Christian moments later with a drop toe hold and choked in the ring. The crowd erupted in a "USA" chant, but was not much help as Christian dominated with a powerslam. Nova even went for a dropkick as Christian was whipped into the ropes, but Nova was unable to connect as Christian held the ropes tight, forcing Nova to fall in the middle of the ring. Christian then pinned Nova down for the three count, but saw that Nova's foot was on the rope before he called for the bell and the match continued. While Christian was arguing with the ref, Nova managed to get in a schoolboy rollup but Christian kicked out at two.Bolin then threw Christian the B.S. Briefcase as he held Nova, but as Christian went to hit him, Nova moved out of the way and he drilled Kenny Bolin with the case, sending him down to the ground. Nova then kicked the case right into the face of Christian. Eventually Nova went to the top rope, and Sean O'Haire ran in, trying to hit him off, but Nova kicked him in the face sending him back down to the ground. Christian then pulled Nova down, in a small package. Apparently both of the competitors shoulders were down, when the ref counted the two, but Nova kicked up right before the three count and Christian was pinned for the three. Both got up and celebrated after the count was made, but the referee announced that Nova won the match and was still OVW Heavyweight champion. -Winner via pinfall Nova Courtesy of Aaron Wilson and Gerweck's Wrestling News when using this news
