C'mon guys, you know you're all Duck Hunt marks. I can play this game for hours.

I hate that freaking dog that always laughs at you. I'd like to see HIM try and kill the ducks, dammit.

I've wanted to kill that dog so many times... it would have been so nice if you could actually shoot him when he laughs at you

I remember that game. It was on the same cartridge as Mario and came with my NES along with a gun. They should give those kind of things with consoles these days. I used to play that game all the time when I was like 12.

How far can you all get? I remember my best was like level 28. Of course I was sitting like two inches from the TV, so it was kind of cheap...

I seem to remember being able to get to level 21 or 22 legit... wasn't too long ago either

The highest point I ever got to was level 34.

I remember that, too. I was completely "in the zone" that day. I'd never made it past level 20 or so before.

But then a funny thing happened. When I got to level 34, I was only able to shoot ONE fuckin' duck. One. It was like someone had put a blindfold over my eyes. I obviously lost at that point, and have never made it back to the 30+ level to this day.

Hmmm....maybe I'll go try right now....

My dad still insists to this day that Nintendo would make millions if they would rerelease the game with the added feature of being able to shoot the damn dog.

As for Duck Hunt, the best I ever did on it was with a broken Zapper which had the front half of the barrel missing. Somehow, this destroyed the gun's ability to aim, but in a good way: if you just shot it vaguely in the duck's general direction, you'd hit them every time. I only lost once the game got SO fast that the ducks flew offscreen the instant that the round started.

My cartridge has Mario, duck hunt, and that olympic game that came with the pad that you ran on... that game owned.

I have that version of the game too. I wish I had a pad.

I still have the pad, and the damn thing actually still works. I never played fair on the thing, I always just sat down and drummed on the footpads with my hands. Lots faster than running.

I wouldn't take it THAT far... but during long jumps and triple jumps... I would jump off the pad, then just tap the pad to land... always worked.

in the arcade version of Duckhunt, called "Vs. Duckhunt", I believe, you can shoot the dog, after you shoot him he hobbles out on crutches with bandage all over him...

Tip: If you have a controller in the #2 controller port of the NES, you can control the ducks in Duck Hunt. ;)
