WWE and the baseball strike

Recommended Posts

If Major League Baseball players go on strike, does this mean the return of Abe "Knuckleball" Schwartz?

Seriously, I wonder if a strike would help ratings any. My feeling is that people who like baseball aren't going to go with wrestling.

I like baseball and wrestling and it is sad that both are in bad shape now.

Just for the record I was a baseball fan before wrestling.

Maybe we'll get a remake of the Macho Man playing ball with a kid commercial.

Either him or the MVP.

No, I mean the wrestler named MVP. He was in the wwf in 94 for a short while. He wore a full baseball uniform and painted his face like a huge baseball. And it was worse than it sounded.

If there's a baseball strike, the WWE should paint Albert's entire head like a baseball and have him wear the uniform for a different baseball team every show (whatever team is nearest the location of the show)

Do the Mets, you'll only be insulting all 13 Met fans.

And kanyon could be the MVP. Get it?

Albert's from Boston, he can wear a Red Sox jersey and on the shows, he can blame the fans for the strike and for it ruining the Red Sox's hopes for a pennant.. :)

and Albert can be a heel in Boston, blaming the fans for the Red Sox not winning a pennant in 80 years.

"You know, if you all had supported your team in 1919, Babe Ruth would have never been sold!"

[never mind the fact most fans in Boston weren't alive in 1919]

Albert can also bash fans by being an obnoxious Boston Red Sox fan, or a New England Patriots fan also.

"Hello St. Louis.. our field goal kicker sends his highest regards for your town. It was very nice for him to whup the Rams last February"

Angle used to do that sort of stuff when he came into the WWF...I remember a line he used in St. Louis - it was 1999 and the Rams were ont heir way to the Super Bowl, but cause of their bad finish the year before they got a fourth or fifth place schedule, so the beat up on a lot of pansies. So Angle is on his winning streak, and says...

"Unlike the St. Louis Rams, I beat wrestlers with a WINNING RECORD!"

Classic.

Almost as classic was in January 2001, when the Ravens were playing the Raiders in the AFC Championship, and the WWF was in Oakland. Edge and Christian come out with Raider shirts and talk about what great fans the Raiders have and whatever...

"That's why the winners of the AFC Championship will be...(lift up shirts to reveal Ravens jerseys) the Baltimore Ravens."

So yeah, someone doing that could get over as a heel at least.

You should get your facts straight, in that the Red Sox have won numerous pennants in the past 80 years...1986 being the last one...

Angle used to do that sort of stuff when he came into the WWF...

He did a show up here in Canada shortly after the summer olympics where he cut a promo talking about being a gold medalist and a recent WWF champ. He said "So I've had more gold on me recently than the entire Canadian olympic team. It's true, it's true."

Ouch.
