Guest Imarkout4chrisdaniels Report post Posted July 14, 2002 Who needs a new finisher in WWE, and what would you give them. Also, are there any puroresu or indy moves you would like to see?
Guest IB2BLACK Report post Posted July 14, 2002 Booker T. Not just a new finisher but something that identifies, only him. He has the axe-kick which looks weak, considering your oponet has be in the right position. And the bookend, which is Rocky's.
Guest SuperTonyJaymz Report post Posted July 14, 2002 I say give Booker T the Harlem Sidewalk Slam again.
Guest FeArHaVoC Report post Posted July 14, 2002 Screw having just one finisher. Almost everyone should have 2-3. I'd give Lance Storm the Sharpshooter or the Texas Cloverleaf.
Guest BionicRedneck Report post Posted July 14, 2002 Storm should use the mapleleaf more. Batista,Orton and Cena all need finishers.
Guest CoreyLazarus416 Report post Posted July 14, 2002 I doubt any worthy finishers would be allowed in WWE, since the best finishers are piledriver variations. And who do we have to blame for that? HHH. That's the only thing I personally have against HHH, being a big Hunter mark, and it's not even his fault 100%. 'Taker gave him a bad Tombstone once, and HHH's neck hurt for a little while after, so word got around, and Vinnie Mac put a band on piledrivers. Fucking... Anyways, if the ban on piledrivers was lifted, I'd give... John Cena: Kryptonite Krunch. Imagine if Cena suddenly busted out a Kryptonite Krunch... Batista: I'd give him Tommy Dreamer's little-used finisher, the Tommyhawk. For those that don't know what it is (which I'm not sure how many, since Dreamer only used it a little bit in 2000 ECW vs. Justin Credible), it starts off with an inverted crucifix hold over one shoulder (as if you were going to push your opponent down in front of your shoulder and to the side for an Emerald Fusion), but then you push up on their shoulders, jump forward a little bit, and catch them with an Ace Crusher. If done nice and fast and with Batista's power, the move would look devastating. Orton: Corkscrew crossbody. He can already get great distance (as seen on SmackDown), but can he add a twist to make it look more dazzling for the casuals? Plus, I have a thing for corkscrews... Booker T: Cobra Clutch Slam. This was the only good move ever to be used by The Demon in WCW (in truth, I don't think Dale Tornberg {name?} was THAT BAD, just put in bad matches), and Billy Gunn used a shitty version of it as The One And Only when he was "The One" Billy Gunn. Helms: I think we all want the Vertabreaker back... Tajiri: I like the Buzzsaw Kick, but I'd add in a straight-jacket powerbomb for cruiser opponents. Knoble: What the fuck is his finisher anyways? Give him The Moneymaker (sit-down Tiger Driver '91, I believe).
Guest Imarkout4chrisdaniels Report post Posted July 14, 2002 Cena hasn't used a finisher yet, but I heard he uses a killer wheelbarrow suplex from OVW. They seem to be giving Batista a spinebuster, but it is only different by the way he pops right up after delivering it (which he does on all his power moves). Guest Imarkout4chrisdaniels Report post Posted July 14, 2002 Good suggestions....... Noble is using a pulling DDT from the corner. The opponent's feet is still on the ropes as he drives them down. And I have always wanted to see a sort of Cobra Clutch Bulldog. I have fooled around with it a little bit, and it looks pretty fierce.
Guest Edwin MacPhisto Report post Posted July 14, 2002 Think Booker can still do the Harlem Hangover? I'd love to see that again. Jericho needs something, because all his half-assed finishers haven't really been worthwhile lately. Maybe if the Walls started being as potent as the Ankle lock...or maybe just see if he can do the double powerbomb again. I always thought that had potential. And yes, all the rookies need finishers. First, though, they need MOVES.
Guest Nevermortal Report post Posted July 14, 2002 Noble uses the Trailer Hitch, a leg submission.
Guest Nezbyte Report post Posted July 14, 2002 Didnt AUSTIN get the piledriver banned?
Guest Mattdotcom Report post Posted July 14, 2002 I'm pretty sure HHH complained. Austin just wouldn't take them in his matches. I gave Booker a Cobra Clutch Slam, too...a long time ago, just because it fits the name "Bookend".
Guest IB2BLACK Report post Posted July 14, 2002 I guess, considering he got temporarily paralyzed. In a way I don't blame Vince for banning some moves, considering all the recent injuries. Also, don't forget about Droz's injury.
Guest BionicRedneck Report post Posted July 14, 2002 At the end of The Iron Man match at Judgement Day 2000, Taker does the tombstone piledriver on HHH. Afterwards HHH was supposed to have suffered a slight injury. After the D'lo-Droz situation, i think Vince decided that safety first was the best way to go. Guest CoreyLazarus416 Report post Posted July 14, 2002 So let's get rid of car radios because some people get in car crashes while changing the station... The freak accidents happen rarely. As for Austin getting the piledriver banned...nope. His was temporarily paralyzed because Owen didn't have his head high enough and did a Square Driver (sit-down Tombstone). Describe Knoble's Trailer Hitch...I know I've seen it before in his matches, but I can't remember it...
Guest Anglesault Report post Posted July 14, 2002 No, HHH did. It got banned with the Tombstone when Taker gave HHH a boo boo or something.
Guest raptor Report post Posted July 14, 2002 Cena's move is called the Proto-bomb, and it's a double choke powerbomb (Baldo-Bomb). So he probably does need another one.
Guest gizmo Report post Posted July 14, 2002 Droz has nothing to do with the ban on piledrivers. If anything, d lo should have been banned from powerbombs or wrestling in general. Ive seen him fuck up that move more times than not.
Guest DragonflyKid Report post Posted July 14, 2002 I'd give Batista the Iconoclasm. He has displayed enough power that I think he could pull it off on most of the heavyweight's under 300 pounds. A power move like that done on heavyweight would look sweet. I like the Cena/Kryptonite Krunch idea that has been brought up. BTW what ever happened to Sick Boy, is he still under a WWE contract? I remember him and Bradley were supposed to get called up a year and a half ago but they never were. He had a great-looking cradle kryptonite krunch. It will be hard for someone to build up a finisher now in the current environment. Who is going to job on a regular basis on the big shows to build up somebody's move? Cena hasn't got a chance to pull off a finishing move yet, they rushed guys to fast and they haven't built up credibility in themselves and their finishing moves(besides Lesnar and his F5 who they gave an big push to). Guest CoreyLazarus416 Report post Posted July 14, 2002 Cradle Kryptonite Krunch? That would seem a lot like one of EZ Money's moves...only EZ Money's is a variation of a backdrop driver... And thanks for the positive feedback on the Cena/Krunch idea...that was me...**rubs ego**
Guest Gomezticator Report post Posted July 14, 2002 You know what finisher I miss? The Savage Elbow. Test was the last one to use it, and I think it'd make a great finisher for a heel (b/c fans aren't likely these days to pop for a face hitting a dated finisher), as long as said heel has a good setup move. Guest Your Olympic Hero Report post Posted July 14, 2002 Austin just wouldn't take them in his matches. But he had no problem piledriving Angle on the concrete during the Invasion angle.
Guest Your Olympic Hero Report post Posted July 14, 2002 Is the Trailer Hitch the same reverse figure four-like move that Edge used a few times a while ago?
Guest Imarkout4chrisdaniels Report post Posted July 14, 2002 Yes, I forgot to mention that Noble also uses the Trailor Hitch as a submission finisher. Just like one of his idols, Chris Benoit, he has a variety of moves as a finishers. He also had a Tombstone, but as we have mentioned, piledriver variations are banned unless special permission is given.
Guest IB2BLACK Report post Posted July 15, 2002 I think Austin piledrived Angle, just to draw more heat for the feud.
Guest TheSmarkzone Report post Posted July 15, 2002 Noble's powerbomb could also be known as the Trailer Hitch.
Guest El Psycho Diablo Report post Posted July 15, 2002 I despised the 'broken neck' angle. The fact Austin was giving somebody a piledriver when he himself swore he wouldn't ever take one.. Hypocrite.
Guest Kid Kablam Report post Posted July 15, 2002 Think Booker can still do the Harlem Hangover? I'd love to see that again. Maybe if the Walls started being as potent as the Ankle lock...or maybe just see if he can do the double powerbomb again. I always thought that had potential. And yes, all the rookies need finishers. First, though, they need MOVES. Amen to all that. Jericho needs to use more of his higher impact moves in general. True I don't get to see that many of his matches, but he always struck me as using a weaker offense. I did always like that double powerbomb, but I doubt they'd give him that cause that would bring up that someone so much smaller than Brock can do multiple power bombs. Guest Down Below Report post Posted July 15, 2002 The piledriver is an awesome move for the heels to gain that extra bit of heat. Especially now that the move is banned. You can have angles where say a guy like Credible keeps piledriving people, illegally (the announcers can whine about how the move is banned and is really dangerous), just to be an asshole. Not that it'll ever happen, but dare I say it would be incredible?
Guest Imarkout4chrisdaniels Report post Posted July 15, 2002 It got Angle some more crowd support, Austin some more heat, and they teased Austin taking one a couple of times. I thought it added to the story. I do not like the fake injuries thing, however.
