Anyway, I watched the 2/3 falls match between Angle and Benoit. I saw the Angle/Benoit cage match from Raw awhile ago, so I was expecting a suplex fest, and a bunch of holy shit moments, but I got a suprise. Angle pulled out a bunch of suplexes, but Benoit only pulled out his snap suplex and for the most part stayed away from the Germans. At first this disappointed me. I mean Benoit really only did about 10 MOVES the whole time. But I found that I actually enjoyed the mat wrestling just as much. If the first fall hadn't been so damn short, I think this would be on top of my list of favorites. Anyway, I started to think that maybe workrate, at least just doing a lot of moves is overrated. I mean, Kurt Angle had a bunch of suplexes in there, but I enjoyed the battles for submission holds more. Well, that's the view from here, talk amongst yourselves.

I don't see the roster split staying around for long, though. Eddy, Benoit, & Regal could all have classics against each other. However, they're a bad ass team together as well.
Guest Kahran Ramsus Posted July 17, 2002 Report Posted July 17, 2002 The best match is actually the 2 out of 3 falls from Insurrextion, where Benoit wins 2 falls to 0. It is more focused on mat wrestling than the match from Judgement Day. Similar to Wrestlemania, but the ending is better, with Angle getting frustrated after Benoit counters the Angle Lock and being pinned by a simple inside cradle. ****1/2
