Guest BigTim2002 Report post Posted July 15, 2002 OK. So let's say that Vince dies tomorrow. Would the product change at all?
Guest Downhome Report post Posted July 15, 2002 Perhaps we'd all be treated to having HHH take over with young Steph at his side!
Guest cynicalprofit Report post Posted July 15, 2002 Of course it would change, it would fall to an even worse state because it would take a long time to restructure when the guy running the place just drops dead. I think it would hit like when vince was on trial for steroids....and while some may say that its already worse then that....Im willing to bet without vinces general guidance it would be a hell of a lot worse. Guest BigTim2002 Report post Posted July 15, 2002 You know irony rules when a guy called "cynical profit" answers the question I asked first.

I'll second that - as horrible as Vince may be, the fact that he's still on top would throw everything to hell if he died. However, if he did die, would the product be better in, say, two months? Guest The Vanilla Midget Report post Posted July 15, 2002 it would turn into wcw in no time flat (well, moreso). wrestlers would have a disproportionate amount of power due to the impressionable nature of the McChildren, and wcw would ride again. as much as we lambast him for not standing up to the wrestlers, vince's presence is all that is preventing wwe from tipping over the edge at this stage. I'll second that - as horrible as Vince may be, the fact that he's still on top would throw everything to hell if he died. However, if he did die, would the product be better in, say, two months? The response to that is, would the WWF even have the chance to get better? I mean, Vince is the center of everything, like it or not. If he were to die, WWF stock would go down huge, and they'd be likely to lose money pretty rapidly. Due to that, IMO, they would fall even faster than before; as Viacom, advertisers, and stockholders would lose confidence. The WWF would take a massive hit should Vince die. Looking at the product side... Let's say they do stay afloat. Who takes over as the last say product-wise? Shane and Steph? There's your answer. I believe the product would get worse, without a filter such as Vince to keep the writing/booking crew in check. Who knows what would take place on tv and behind the scenes, should Shane and Steph take control/
Guest M Nyland Report post Posted July 15, 2002 if Shane & Steph take control....damn.......i don't want to think about it... though Linda would still be there to handle the true business aspects... Shane would be the better choice I think...I THINK....*still doesn't want to think about it*
Guest The Vanilla Midget Report post Posted July 15, 2002 from what tom zenk says, and as much as i hate to admit it, he has a higher level of backstage knowledge than anyone else who posts online, shane is a total mark. if that is the case, then no matter which one of the minimacs gets overall control, the ship will still sink faster. Guest buffybeast Report post Posted July 15, 2002 WWFE has mentioned this in it's business reports. They state that the company would more likely than not be adversely affected if Vince were to die. They are supposedly making plans to change this by grooming Steph and Shane to handle the product. I think the company would have big problems if Vince were to die. However, I disagree with some of you who think the company would die one week after Vince's death. I think if the company would go down the drain, it would probably happen over the course of a couple of years after Vince demise.
Guest Brian Report post Posted July 15, 2002 No. Steph is too head-strong, Shane isn't bold enough. The two together, maybe. It's one of the reasons Vince is afraid to step back and help with the quiet end of things. That's probably why he keeps himself there storyline wise. He's been grooming them for years. They've paid they're dues. They've both worked their way to on-air roles. And they're still not ready. That says alot. Shane's not a total mark in that sense. He's a guy who totally admires the action sides, the sports side. If he surrounds himself with the right people, him and Steph probably could do it.
Guest Trivia247 Report post Posted July 15, 2002 Guess BigTim you can put away your Sniper rifle Killing Vince McMahon will make the product even worse lol.
Guest Prince Paul Report post Posted July 15, 2002 I think if Vince dies, so does his creation. I'm not saying it would die quickly, but it will fade out ever so slowly. Shane and Steph cannot run that company, IMHO.
Guest FeArHaVoC Report post Posted July 15, 2002 I bet Triple H would hurry and try to marry Steph if Vince did die.

Guest AM The Kid Report post Posted July 15, 2002 I think Shane knows the buisness quite well. I'd boot Steph as far away from the booking as possible. I think if Vince died tomorrow, I'd quit the board because of people saying he deserved it.
Guest Ripper Report post Posted July 15, 2002 I don't think anyone has the foggiest idea of what would happen if Vince died because noone knows how Shane or Steph would run the company. Most people make assuptions due to onscreen characters and internet tabloids...um...I mean news sites... but it could go either way. Shane seems to be handling his part of the company pretty well, he might be a great guy at the top.

Guest TheSmarkzone Report post Posted July 15, 2002 BAN THIS IDIOT NOW. Why? Because I like Test? Am I not allowed to like Test? Are you the resident pro wrestling Nazi? Am I only allowed to like wrestlers that you approve of? Fuck off.
Guest DGenr8n X Report post Posted July 15, 2002 Hey everyone, this is my first post and blah blah. I'd figure I'd start off with that before showing my appreciation for Test...I thought his match with Lesnar at KOTR was superb, and I think his work lately has been excellent as well. Test is good...stop harassing him.
Guest Prince Paul Report post Posted July 15, 2002 I saw that joke coming from a mile away, but I didn't think it would come from him. I'm surprised he doesn't sell Test T-Shirts. *kicks himself for giving Smarkzone ANOTHER stupid idea*

Guest cynicalprofit Report post Posted July 15, 2002 Shane has stated he doesnt want to run the company...for the life of me I dont remember where i read it, all i know is that when i rad it i was like, damn it steph is gonna take control when vinces dies, which means...godbye to you, wwf(e) They seriously need to inject someone in who ISNT related and CARES about wrestling, my two nominees are Scott Keith and Dave Melterz. Both of them care about he business alot, they both have written books on wrestling, and both of them follow the product like a religion. Why not give it to them, because they are smarks...big deal. If it turns the company around, IM ALL FOR IT. If it would make a better product...IM ALL FOR IT. I dont know why vince and other people in the wwf cant atleast talk to guys like melterz and say...ok were not doing so how, what do you have to offer in terms of advice, because we know you care about the product. God vince makes us out to be such horrid people. Geez Vince, we watch your show, shouldnt you maybe ask us what we think?

No, because you add NOTHING to this board at all, you just disagree with everyone and defend wrestlers that no one likes just so you can get noticed.
