I'll second that - as horrible as Vince may be, the fact that he's still on top would throw everything to hell if he died. However, if he did die, would the product be better in, say, two months?

it would turn into wcw in no time flat (well, moreso). wrestlers would have a disproportionate amount of power due to the impressionable nature of the McChildren, and wcw would ride again. as much as we lambast him for not standing up to the wrestlers, vince's presence is all that is preventing wwe from tipping over the edge at this stage.

The response to that is, would the WWF even have the chance to get better?

 

I mean, Vince is the center of everything, like it or not. If he were to die, WWF stock would go down huge, and they'd be likely to lose money pretty rapidly. Due to that, IMO, they would fall even faster than before; as Viacom, advertisers, and stockholders would lose confidence. The WWF would take a massive hit should Vince die.

 

Looking at the product side... Let's say they do stay afloat. Who takes over as the last say product-wise? Shane and Steph?

 

There's your answer. I believe the product would get worse, without a filter such as Vince to keep the writing/booking crew in check. Who knows what would take place on tv and behind the scenes, should Shane and Steph take control/

from what tom zenk says, and as much as i hate to admit it, he has a higher level of backstage knowledge than anyone else who posts online, shane is a total mark. if that is the case, then no matter which one of the minimacs gets overall control, the ship will still sink faster.

WWFE has mentioned this in it's business reports. They state that the company would more likely than not be adversely affected if Vince were to die. They are supposedly making plans to change this by grooming Steph and Shane to handle the product.

 

I think the company would have big problems if Vince were to die. However, I disagree with some of you who think the company would die one week after Vince's death. I think if the company would go down the drain, it would probably happen over the course of a couple of years after Vince demise.

Steph is too head-strong, Shane isn't bold enough. The two together, maybe. It's one of the reasons Vince is afraid to step back and help with the quiet end of things. That's probably why he keeps himself there storyline wise. He's been grooming them for years. They've paid they're dues. They've both worked their way to on-air roles. And they're still not ready. That says alot.

 

Shane's not a total mark in that sense. He's a guy who totally admires the action sides, the sports side. If he surrounds himself with the right people, him and Steph probably could do it.

Most people make assuptions due to onscreen characters and internet tabloids...um...I mean news sites... but it could go either way. Both of them care about he business alot, they both have written books on wrestling, and both of them follow the product like a religion. Why not give it to them, because they are smarks...big deal.
