Guest Vern Gagne Report post Posted July 15, 2002 New York Yankees-they apparently are interested in a left-handed setup man. Someone like Rincon or Pleasac is a possibility. Boston-A 1B. Thome would be a nice fit, but they don't have much to offer in terms of prospects. If the rumored Thome for Hillenbrand and Nixon trade was true, Boston made a mistake. Minnesota-Mays, and Radke return soon from the D.L., and Bob Wells returns to the bullpen. The lineup is fine, but it would be nice to get a starting pitcher with some postseason experience, but no payroll will be added. Seattle-Another starting pitcher, and a leftfielder. Loaiza, or Carpenter come to mind, and Brian Giles name as been rumored. Anaheim-help out of the bullpen, and another starter wouldn't hurt. Someone like Roberto Hernandez, or Todd Jones Oakland-Ray Durham could be available soon. He's playing well right know, and is a free agent at the end of the season. He also gives the A's the lead-off hitter than sorely lack. Help in the bullpen as well. Atlanta-A 1B. Thome, or Delgado is a possibility. Another Starting pitcher. If Jon Leiber is available that might not be a bad pickup. Montreal-help out of the bullpen. St.Louis-A starter. The Cardnials have intrest in Chuck Finley. Cincinnati-a lefty out of the pen. White is the only one they've got. Houston-probably won't add payroll. But they need another starter. Kenny Rogers might not be a bad pickup. He pitches well for the Rangers, maybe he'll pitches well in the state of Texas. Los Angeles-a setup man for Gagne, and middle infield help. Ray Durham might be a possibility, or maybe Omar Vizquel. Arizona-another starter. Scott Erickson is from Arizona, and will give you lots of innings. Another lefy out the pen would help has well. San Fran.-they have interest in Scott Rolen. Help in the outfield is essential. They should of gone after Clifford Floyd. Brian Giles, or even someone like Carlos Lee might not be a bad choice. Thanks to Espn.com for the help. Guest undisputedjericho Report post Posted July 15, 2002 Thome has a no-trade clause and has expressed that he wants to stay in Cleveland. Some idiot said on the FAN the other day that the Mets should trade Vaughn for Tony Clark, then trade Ordonez and Clark for A-Rod.
Guest bob_barron Report post Posted July 15, 2002 Yea- If the Braves can get a 1B w/o giving up too much I will cry tears of joy. They're not desperate for another SP- They shouldnt give up too much for one
Guest alkeiper Report post Posted July 15, 2002 If the rumored Thome for Hillenbrand and Nixon trade was true, Boston made a mistake. How so? Hillenbrand's starting to show real signs of the overall sucktitude he displayed last year, while Thome's a legitimate power bat. Then they can move Daubach to RF. The lineup is fine, but it would be nice to get a starting pitcher with some postseason experience, but no payroll will be added. Like Rick Reed? Maybe they can trade their best hitter again this year too!!! I'd stick with Milton, Mays and Radke. Atlanta-A 1B. Thome, or Delgado is a possibility Delgado's under contract for $17 million. I doubt he's gonna go anywhere. St.Louis-A starter. The Cardnials have intrest in Chuck Finley. I think the Cardinals purpose in life is to give me grey hair by the time I'm 25. Houston-probably won't add payroll. But they need another starter. Kenny Rogers might not be a bad pickup. He pitches well for the Rangers, maybe he'll pitches well in the state of Texas. Kenny Rogers is exactly the type of player a team like the Rangers should trade. He's 37 and having a terrific season. Texas isn't gonna win anything this season, so they might as well see what they can get. San Fran.-they have interest in Scott Rolen. Help in the outfield is essential. They should of gone after Clifford Floyd. Brian Giles, or even someone like Carlos Lee might not be a bad choice. They really need someone to play center. Jose Cruz might be worth a look. Some idiot said on the FAN the other day that the Mets should trade Vaughn for Tony Clark, then trade Ordonez and Clark for A-Rod. I really hope he's talking about Aureilo Rodriguez. :b
