Guest Brian Report post Posted February 19, 2002 Though I have yet to see RAw because of the West Coast delay, I think after last night I can come to one conclusion. It's public knowledge that the WWF is booking on the fly, but it seems as if they've failed to book the number one show of the year. Last night's attempt to send Angle as the number one contender was a shot in the dark. Could the WWF be setting up a six-man tag with the big three and the old three as a last ditch effort? They may be afraid if the rating dip again, they need a big match to promote rather than a bunch of seperate matches. Then Angle/Jericho goes as the main event, and the si-man as the main attraction. Fans are sent home happy if Jericho wins if they play up the Canadian/US angle. Of course the other set-ups are a three-way or Jericho/HHH, but is the WWF gambling on their biggest show by not having the main event solidified and looking onto ratings and crowd reactions? It seems almost obvious that the NWO should be built up by spray-painting and leaving people laying. But at this point in the feud, should they be working as singles or as a group? Guest Sakura Report post Posted February 19, 2002 RAW did a good job of building to WM. All they need to do is get something for Kurt(Triple threat?), something for Nash(no idea), decide who's going to fight who in the RVD/Edge/Goldust/Regal situation and they'll be set. Guest Tony149 Report post Posted February 19, 2002 They aren't going to do the 6-Man tag at WM. You'll get a good idea of what the card will be by watching Raw.
Guest Mik at Cornell Report post Posted February 19, 2002 Yeah, I think it is safe to say that after Raw that Wrestlemania is fairly well booked. It's the night after one PPV, and we already have 3 definite matches and two near definite matches for Wrestlemania, can't beat that really.
Guest Tony149 Report post Posted February 19, 2002 I think it's safe to say that 4 matches are pretty much a lock. When a challenge is issued to another wrestler, they always end up accepting.
Guest Human Fly Report post Posted February 19, 2002 Any word on what Nash will be doing? I kind of figured Edge will challenge Regal for the IC again. They'll make a big deal about it being his home town, how he was there for WM 6 etc. He'll go over get the hometown boy pop, and hopefully move onto a different program then Regal. Guest Tony149 Report post Posted February 19, 2002 I guess they could stick Nash with Kurt Angle. Nash might be the odd man out for a WM match.
Guest joshicho Report post Posted February 19, 2002 Wrestlemania is gonna be a great card this year. Maybe not a great workrate card but the historical significance will be off the page.
Guest DaddyRecklessEric Report post Posted February 19, 2002 Wrestlemania thus far: (along with smark-ass comments) HHH-Jericho (Nothing wrong with this. Last year at this time did you think Jericho would headline Wrestlemania?? Or say NWO and WWF in the same sentence?? Hogan-Rock (When that promo was happening I was like "OK WWF I get it, i will buy Wrestlemania!!" That was a MOMENT.) Austin-Hall?? (poor Austin. I never thought Hall was a main eventer or even in the upper card..oh well..) or Austin-Angle( I don't care how many times we saw it last year every match kicked a thousand types of ass and these are two great great workers) Taker/Flair (Well on the one side this could be the slowest match of the evening. But two spectacular storytellers in the ring should make it great) someone suggested a Edge/Regal/Golddust/RVD Fatal Four Way IC title match(given the time i think this would be awesome...either Edge winning the hometown match or RVD getting the IC would be satisfying) ummm..APA-Midget Connection(this match must not happen...please do something...hold the belt up and make a six team TLC match or something) ...people getting left out in the cold right now: Kane- i was hoping he would spring Austin out of jail and go after the Outsiders) Big Show-i know he's injured and slower than death( but he needs to be there Booker T-from beating HHH to teaming with Test...does not compute..well here's hoping they make that Six man TLC. All people under 250 pounds-Here's an idea: Ric Flair gets Tajiri on that "not defending a belt" stipulation. Torrie protests saying he's never had a chance. A whole bunch of "cruiserweights" (Storm, Christian, etc...)have a super cruiserweight match for the belt. Then again i hate the idea of a cruiserweight belt so....i dunno it's just an idea for the rest of the roster.... If there is someone or something i missed i'm sure someone will point it out....
Guest Tony149 Report post Posted February 19, 2002 I think Flair can drag a good match out of Taker. Flair carried owners/bookers to watchable matches. He should be able to do it again with a wrestler.
Guest Juvydriver Report post Posted February 19, 2002 I originally thought that the 6 man match was a possibility, but I think it will play out this way: Y2J vs. HHH (Unified Title) Austin vs. Scott Hall Hogan vs. Rock Nash vs. Kane (I think Kane simply because he's the only "over" big guy) Flair vs. Taker Edge vs. Regal vs. RVD (IC Title. I was hoping for just Edge vs. RVD) APA vs. Spike/Tazz I'm sure that Maven will wrestle, along with Tajiri and DDP since all of them are champs of some sort. And hey, they have 4 hours to fill. Guest suckfreecomix Report post Posted February 19, 2002 A fatal 4 way is logical since they need to get alot of wrestlers on the card. I'm still convinced it will be Jericho vs. HHH vs. Angle (on a count of HHH's...problems)
