Guest BoboBrazil Report post Posted July 15, 2002 Vince Russo just said that there will be a huge surprise on NWA:TNA's show Wednesday night within the first 15 minutes that will make it worth the $10 alone. Is this the return of the swerve?! He also said he was going to make Jerry Lynn a major star in the wrestling business within the next couple of months. Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Report post Posted July 15, 2002 If he's going to make a star out of someone...it is Jerry Lynn at this point. Lynn has looked like the superstar of the X division (As has Styles) About the surprise...I dunno... Maybe Jasmin will get naked this week. I couldn't think of anything he could do... Guest BoboBrazil Report post Posted July 15, 2002 Jasmin getting naked worth $10? She is a porn actress and I can see her do alot more for less than $10. That can't be it.
Guest Tony149 Report post Posted July 15, 2002 Surprise? What? Mick Foley? Hell, I don't know what surprise it is. That's interesting. A lot of surprising things have happened before. I wonder what's left.
Guest BoboBrazil Report post Posted July 16, 2002 Mick Foley would be a great surprise, but I don't think he would betray the WWF like that. I'm thinking it might be Scott Steiner. I can't think of anything else it could be really.
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Report post Posted July 16, 2002 I didn't say JAsmin getting naked was worth 10 bucks... It was just the only thing I could think of.
Guest RetroRob215 Report post Posted July 16, 2002 Mick Foley would be a great surprise, but I don't think he would betray the WWF like that. He already asked for a release and publically badmouthed the way the WWF's direction, so why not go to the NWA? In the end, I don't think he is the surprise anyway, so all is for naught. Guest cynicalprofit Report post Posted July 16, 2002 Isnt this the same russo who gave us that great suprise goldberg turn? HAHAHAHA!
Guest RickyB Report post Posted July 16, 2002 Isnt this the same russo who gave us that great suprise goldberg turn? HAHAHAHA! That was Eric Bischoff's idea, and I think that most people in WCW seen Goldberg turning heel up on the level with Hogan turning heel. And WCW were just "thowing mud and seeing what sticks" thing at the time. I think that Russo and Jerry Jarret will be more carefull at this point than to risk looking foolish and losing all fan support by announcing something big and producing something as dissapointing as the Goldberg turn. Guest Insane Bump Machine Report post Posted July 16, 2002 It'll be Eric Bischoff. He will announce that Vince Russo and himself were sent by WWE to take over NWA-TNA and replace RAW with a new weekly NWA show on TNN. Nah, it'll be Steiner or something like that. Guest nikowwf Report post Posted July 16, 2002 Sigh....a russo surprise. they are always so great! I can see it now....announcer comes to ring "I want to introduce the new commisioner of NWA - VINCE RUSSO!!!" Vince comes out and announces the end of the X Division. Later in the show Lo-Ki is repackaged as a bisexual monk who sells dishes to the other wrestlers. Chris Daniels becomes a gay vamprie, and Jerry Lynn moves on to feud with the wall. AJ Styles is fired, cause he can't talk. I know I'm being facecious here, but Russo surprises generally SUCK so massively. I have a good surprise......the AJ Styles / Lo-Ki match is now best out of 3 falls! Niko
Guest converge241 Report post Posted July 16, 2002 "Isnt this the same russo who gave us that great suprise goldberg turn? HAHAHAHA! " this is what makes me cautious as well...its just the wording..dont make such a big deal about it and that way well be maybe overly surprised.

Guest J*ingus Report post Posted July 16, 2002 I doubt it, seeing as how Lynn moved to Nashville a couple of months ago.
Guest NoCalMike Report post Posted July 17, 2002 Maybe X-pac.....has he been officially, "fired" I know WWE has spoke of trimming some fat from the roster, maybe they have fired a few that we don't know of.......
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Report post Posted July 17, 2002 God I hope not. My official prediction is Curt Hennig showing up and shooting on the WWE... As I said in my preview... I can see him with a russo inspired mic discussing the plane ride from hell already.

Guest Downhome Report post Posted July 17, 2002 Need I remind you that Goldberg has recently said in an interview that he is 100% certain that he will return to the Pro. Wrestling scene some time in 2002? Also, I head Henning was still in WWE, has that changed since I last heard?
Guest Human Fly Report post Posted July 17, 2002 I think it's too early for a Russo swerve. Let's face it, the internet is pretty much their only way of advertising and generating interest for their product. At this early stage it's too early to risk pissing them off. For the sake of conversation, can you even IMAGINE what the reaction would be if they somehow picked up Steve Austin, Mick Foley, Goldberg, or another star of that such? Guest the 1inch punch Report post Posted July 17, 2002 It had better not be Waterman using some sort of Steiner gimmick. Didnt they already do that with Del Rios
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Report post Posted July 17, 2002 As a matter of fact they did. Or at least Del Rios looked like a smaller version of Steiner. Not having seen him before I don't know if that's just how he looks. Goldberg did say he was 100% certain that he would return by the end of the year and that he hadn't decided where he was going yet. But I still say that Jerry can't afford him (Although the one day a week schedule would probably be a good thing in Goldberg's eyes)
Guest J*ingus Report post Posted July 17, 2002 Or at least Del Rios looked like a smaller version of Steiner. Not having seen him before I don't know if that's just how he looks. "Del Rios" aka Spellbinder has looked exactly like that since at least 1999, which was the first time I saw him. He's actually taller than Steiner is, but not quite as bulky. Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Report post Posted July 17, 2002 That was Spellbinder? Cool...one more face to add to the names in EWR.
Guest FeArHaVoC Report post Posted July 17, 2002 Their now announcing that a Old NWA champion will be on the show tonight. The Big surprise will probably be that they stole Dusty back from the WWE.
Guest Downhome Report post Posted July 17, 2002 How about Steve Austin, did he ever hold an NWA title? Or how about Scott Steiner, or even Ricky Steamboat (has he been on yet, I don't remember)?
Guest nikowwf Report post Posted July 17, 2002 Its not Austin or Goldberg. I think we can stop dreaming now. How about Mr. Perfect? Niko
Guest Downhome Report post Posted July 17, 2002 Its not Austin or Goldberg. I think we can stop dreaming now. How about Mr. Perfect? Niko Yes, I know Austin or Goldberg wont be there, it's just my wishing, lol. Seriously though... ...my picks are Dusty Rhodes, Terry Funk, or... ...Dan "The Beast" Severn. Do you recall his history with Ken Shamrock, both in WWE and UFC? Call my crazy, but HE is my personal pick! After all, he WAS the NWA Heavyweight Champion for over four years from February 24, 1995 to March 14, 1999. Then just THIS YEAR he won the title on March 9, 2002. Yes, call me crazy indeed, but he is MY pick, what about you? :)
Guest FeArHaVoC Report post Posted July 17, 2002 I hope Dan "The Beast" Severn doesn't count as the surprise too.
