Guest EQ Report post Posted July 16, 2002 I don't want to come off like I'm making fun of the people who care about what their post count is, but I'm curious. Does it matter to you? To me, I don't really care what my count is... nor do I care what everyone else's count is. I just read the posts. Someone could come on here with a count of 1 and say something just as good or bad as someone with 10,000.
Guest caboose Report post Posted July 16, 2002 Nope, even though you wouldn't think that considering I'm now in the Top 20 posters on the board. Seriously it doesn't matter. Half my posts are shitty one-liners or in the Word Association thread. It's the other posts of mine that matter.
Guest Incandenza Report post Posted July 16, 2002 I honestly don't care what my post count is. I use to, as I saw people with higher post counts would usually be held in higher regard, but I realized that's due to the fact that people with higher post counts tend to be more well known simply because they've been here longer. Mostly, this Post Count Inferiority Complex stems from just how easy it is to get lost in the crowd of people in the WWE folder. It's a lot easier to make a name for yourself with a lot less posts in the General Chat board because it's less populated. So yeah, post counts mean little to me now, but I did accept Dr. Tom's offer to inflate my current post count to its former state. Why? Because I don't care one way or the other. Guest Still Fly Report post Posted July 16, 2002 no, I don't even show up a lot at this board... yay for Still Fly! ...yeah
Guest J*ingus Report post Posted July 16, 2002 Incandenza took the words out of my mouth. South of the Pop Culture line it really doesn't matter, but in the Wrestling folders, especially the overpopulated WW(F)E, a high count can help add a little weight to your arguments, for whatever stupid reason. Also consider that fk teale is considered by some to have been the best poster in history, and he's posted less than twenty times.
Guest Shaved Bear Report post Posted July 16, 2002 800 of my posts are on word about
Guest DrTom Report post Posted July 16, 2002 It's never mattered to me. People made a big deal of it at the old forum, too, and I just never saw the reasoning behind it. To me, why would you want to celebrate the fact that you make 40 posts a day on an internet message board? There are some things you should be proud of in your life, and then there are dubious distinctions that you're just better off not mentioning. I know I "celebrated" my 500th post, but the whole thing was a tongue-in-cheek at the several people who've wondered who I am because "you must never post." Guest bob_barron Report post Posted July 16, 2002 I don't care really about post counts. Hey does anyone realise by making this post my post count increased by one?
Guest Some Guy Report post Posted July 16, 2002 After I got past 200 I didn't care anymore. I wanted my name to be knowm, after that it doesn't matter anymore. I have close to 3,000 now, I think, but a ton of them where in word association and the like.
Guest Flyboy Report post Posted July 16, 2002 Somewhat... but not really. After 1000, I stopped caring...
Guest M Nyland Report post Posted July 16, 2002 ya know...just cause I post whore...doesn't mean that I care... but when I have friends and I get into general discussions with them it is fun to run up a post count... And if I want to say something meaningful...I will use a post to do so... ...and I've actually said some pretty meaningful things on this board

Guest RetroRob215 Report post Posted July 16, 2002 They don't really matter, but that doesn't mean they should be done away with like on EZBoard. Sometimes it is good to see how often a person posts here when you are having a discussion with them. Of course my post count is high mainly because of Word Association and short responses. Guest GenerationNever Report post Posted July 16, 2002 Eh, I had thousands of posts as Risk, but wanted to change my name. So, no, they mean nothing.

Guest papacita Report post Posted July 16, 2002 I don't care, but I'll admit it was kinda cool to see my name on the top 10 list one day. Also, I wanted change names after a cool number like 187 or 420...but i always miss by 1...oh well.
Guest AlwaysPissedOff Report post Posted July 16, 2002 Eh, I never cared at all. I had like 700 on the Ezboard while some there had already gotten into the thousands before I even broke 300 and I had been there longer then they had. Something that always touched me was when JB said I was one of the best posters on the old board, yet I hardly had 300 posts to my name. As far as I'm concerned, post counts don't mean shit. I'd rather have 30 posts to my name and be somewhat respected than to have 8 million posts and be considered a joke.
Guest AM The Kid Report post Posted July 16, 2002 I kinda care, it does get more attention to you in diputes and it's easier to chat with people.
Guest The Superstar Report post Posted July 16, 2002 I used to care a lot more than I do now. For some reason I was on a mission to get to 1000, and when I finally did, I was just kinda like "eh...who cares" Although a lot of my posts are one-words from the WA Thread. Also, at the One and Only RAW Thread every week I always post quick blurts of mark-outity. ("OMG~! BENOIT OWNZ YOUR SOUL! HE IS YOUR GOD!")

Guest evenflowDDT Report post Posted July 17, 2002 Who's FK Teale? And yes, my post count means a lot to me because it gives me a false sense of status that I don't feel I have in real life... delusions of grandeur? Perhaps, but I gotta hold on to something, right?
