Guest Youth N Asia Report post Posted February 19, 2002 I cannot believe it...Hulk Hogan actually made me laugh. I don't know if this was discussed in the RAW thread (I'm watching the show and not online when it's on...so I never read it) Hogan was talking to the crowd they said "What?!" Hogan talked some more they said "What?!" And Hogan isntantly followed it up with "...Chu gonna do?!" (Get it...WHat chu gonna do) I paused for about a second then broke into laughter. Guest Tony149 Report post Posted February 19, 2002 Yeah, I noticed that too. Got a good laugh from it. I thought it was one of Hogan's better promos.
Guest Some Guy Report post Posted February 19, 2002 That line was funny. I can't believe that anybody would bitch about that promo and that angle. It was money in the bank.

Exactly, the entire Rocky/Hogan/Hall/Nash/nWo segments, they were some of the best WWF TV in a VERY long time. I LOVED the crowd reaction to the entire thing. It seemed like they didn't know what to do, so they just cheered and booed, lol.

Guest Downhome Report post Posted February 19, 2002 I agree. Good stuff, IMO. The fans were torn who to cheer for. Yep, I just loved the fans altering the chants from "Hogan, Hogan!" to "Rocky, Rocky!"... ...what was just great. By the way, this is what I mean about Hogan being exciting, emotional, and having a MEANING, if you remember the post I made about that. :-)

Guest Some Guy Report post Posted February 19, 2002 Downhome, it was me, you and Tony149 I think who were the biggest contributers to the first "How to improve Hogan" thread, and I have to admit that right now you were right.
Guest Downhome Report post Posted February 19, 2002 Downhome, it was me, you and Tony149 I think who were the biggest contributers to the first "How to improve Hogan" thread, and I have to admit that right now you were right. Well, it was insane for people just to write Hogan off as nothing more than "an old guy". He is so much more than that, and besides, it isn't like he's 60, he is only 48 years old... ...Hogan is a machine. He can get any type of crowd reaction that he NEEDS to get. With him, you get drama, with him you get emotion, with him, you get some DAMN fine TV. It isn't HOGAN who will make this fail, it is the bookers/writers who decide where to go with him now. This is the key... ...keeping up the pace, keeping him from becoming stale, and simply furthering the angles in which he is a part of the correct way... ...and that correct way, is to simply keep the story evolving, with emotion, excitement, and MEANING... ...hell, that is basily how to keep ANYTHING hot. I just hope the WWF learns that this is how to do it, and doesn't drop the ball on this, and at THIS point, I don't see them failing.
Guest NoCalMike Report post Posted February 19, 2002 The Hogan comment was indeed hilarious. I wasn't looking at the screen when he inserted the "...cha gonna do" So at first I thought he just didn't say the "what" part into the mic, then a second later it clicked and I was laughing my ass off...... -Mike
Guest RhynoesRUs Report post Posted February 19, 2002 The crowd cracked me up, a bunch of sheep with two shepards, waiting to be told where to go.
Guest Cataclysm911 Report post Posted February 19, 2002 Downhome, it was me, you and Tony149 I think who were the biggest contributers to the first "How to improve Hogan" thread, and I have to admit that right now you were right. I contributed to that post several times. Granted, most of my posts were about a page in length, instead of just replying every five mintues w/ a sentence. I was the person who suggested the Full-Nelson finish & a lot of other things. I could go hunt for the post to refresh my memory, but it isn't really important. I knew that Hogan would do fine upon his return, although he will always recieve negative critisism from some members on this board.
Guest The Man in Blak Report post Posted February 19, 2002 Not only was that remark great, but I thought Hogan's "shoot comment that isn't supposed to be a shoot comment" (TM, Keith) about how Rock was just a flavor of the month added just a little more mustard on the side. Maybe everybody that was watching it with me were Rock-haters or whatever, but that remark put the whole room up in arms.
Guest Tony149 Report post Posted February 19, 2002 I'm not the biggest Hogan fan (Prefer Flair more), but the guy did a lot for the business and I respect what him & McMahon did to make wrestling. Hogan can be good if he's booked right. If he can avoid getting stale, he should be fine. His line after "WHAT?" was a good example of what he could do if he stays on top of his game. Guest El Satanico Report post Posted February 19, 2002 Well in WCW Hogan alway got good reactions when he returned from a break. So fear not his reactions will fade away shortly then everyone claiming a rebirth of Hogan will be hoping for his retirement. So enjoy it while you can Hogan fans :coughcoughfoolscoughcough:
Guest pinnacleofallthingsmanly Report post Posted February 19, 2002 I thought the comment was funny n a corny way. When he said it, there was an awkward silence.
Guest hyness Report post Posted February 19, 2002 Did anyone else start having Rocky III flashbacks with the crowd chanting "Rocky! Rocky!"? I thought Hogan was gonna start calling the Rock a "meatball" and the fans "worms" or "all trash"! That was only the beginning of tonight's journey into the twilight zone. The fans chanting Rocky sucks in favor of Father Time Hogan? Monster pops for the nWo's finishers, even Nash's crappy powerbomb? Meltzer, Ryder and Mitchell all saying that this is the biggest thing since Austin-McMahon? The world is ending.
Guest gangsteruwa Report post Posted February 19, 2002 Did anyone find it ironic that the Rock said that the reason fans got sick of Hogan is he did and said the same thing everytime he was on TV?
Guest Makaveli Report post Posted February 19, 2002 I was watching raw with a bunch of my friends last night, and when he said that line...'WHAT cha gonna do!?', we all started cracking up for a good 5 minutes. Good stuff.
Guest mastermind Report post Posted February 19, 2002 Was it me or was the crowd chanting Austin Austin at the beginning when asked if they wanted Rock/Hogan? Actually during the Rock interview at NWO I was thinking about Rocky 3. I mean Rocky Balboa asking ThunderLips for a picture or was it Hogan asking Balboa for a picture? Well, it COULD end up being the biggest angle since Austin/Mcmahon if they do things right like the NWO causing the wwf to split and other things. I, for one, was happy as hell we didn't see Mcmahon. It makes sense for Mcmahon not to be there since he wants to kill his creation.
